Glow by Beth Kerry

Title: Glow
Author: Beth Kerry
Series: Glimmer and Glow, #2
Release Day: December 1, 2015

From the New York Times bestselling author of GlimmerBecause You Are MineWhen I’m With You, and The Affair, the latest novel in the suspenseful and sensual new series about power, sex, and the secrets that can tear us apart, body and soul…

Alice Reed never dreamed she’d escape the stigma of her disturbing past. That’s why she was shocked when, out of the blue, she was recruited to join the elite Durand Enterprises by the enigmatic CEO himself, Dylan Fall. The erotic charge between them was fast and deliciously forbidden. But as Alice opened up to worlds she’d never known, everything changed once again with a stunning discovery: there’s much, much more concealed in the shadows of Alice’s troubling childhood, and her life is about to change forever.

Now, with another piece of the puzzle of Alice’s identity revealed, a mysterious adversary plots to destroy it all—and Dylan is determined to protect her. But as Alice’s sexual addiction to Dylan turns helplessly to love, she can’t help but wonder: how deeply can she really trust him? What were his true motives in drawing her close to him? And what other secrets does he know about her past that even she has yet to learn?

When I read GLIMMER (book 1) I was obsessed with Dylan and Alice’s story. The idea that after 20 years, Dylan was still searching for Alice made my heart melt.  So when I finally got Glow I was extremely excited to jump back into their story.

Dylan is the CEO of Durand Enterprises.  Twenty years ago he witnessed the kidnapping of Adelida Durand, the daughter of the companies owners.

After two decades he finally finds her and she slowly begins to accept her past.  Now they still have to figure out who orchestrated such an awful kidnapping.  And Alice has to figure out if she can trust Dylan, even though her heart is telling her she should.

GLOW was a lot harder for me to get into.  While it was still entertaining and I was flipping the pages as fast as I could to find out the “who’s” any “whys”, I didn’t feel that deep connection to the story. Once I got a little over half way it picked up tremendously and I couldn’t put the book down.

Throughout the story Dylan was still a bit of a mystery.  It always felt like he had something hiding up his sleeve, and part of that is why I kept reading so quickly.  I knew, like Alice, that I could trust him, but he was hiding something big.  Something that would shock Alice to the core.  Throughout all his secrets, I loved that he ALWAYS made his feelings and intentions with Alice clear.

“Do you think you’re the only one that this is hard for? I’m no more of an expert at trust, or relationships, or the long haul than you are.  But I’ve figured out one thing.  What’s between us is real.  You feel it. I know you do….. I loved Addie Durand because she was the first person in the world who loved me without question or though.  That’s what came to her as natural as breathing.  But I fell in love with you, even though you fought me and questioned and distrusted every step of the way, because I loved your strength and your independence, and yeah. . . even your goddamn prickliness.  This bond between us isn’t going to break,” he assured her grimly.

Glow was full of action and continuous plot twists.  When I thought I had everything figured out I was wrong. Several times.  Beth Kerry did a fantastic job at keeping me on the edge of my seat.  I think she also did a fantastic job at filling the gaps that I forgot about since book one.

If you’re looking for a hot romance about trust, love, kidnappings, murder and suspense… pick up these books.  I’m so happy I decided to read them!
