Arianna - Behind the Words Series (Book 1) by Savannah Stewart Cover Reveal

Arianna Moore is one half of the female rock duo, The Daughters of Darkness. She has walls built up around her heart that are taller than any skyscraper. But when an unexpected gig throws her and Jayde Kimberland a deal of a lifetime, Arianna finds herself intertwined with the rock star bad boy, Bryden Rowe, who leads the platinum selling rock group, From Yesterday. His reputation isn’t the best and she doesn’t want to be another notch on his belt.
Will she be able to keep those walls firm in place or will Bryden be the one to finally knock them down?
When the past comes knocking on both their doors, emotions run high, and tensions run even higher. Will they be able to break past all the barriers and find comfort in one another or will it only last while on the road?
“What are you doing, Bryden?” My voice came out in an exhausted sounding tone.
He turned back to me and caged me in with his arms once more. His grey-blue eyes were piercing into me and all I could do was slouch back against the elevator wall. “Why do you have such a negative outlook about me, sassy girl? What have I done to make you feel the way you feel about me and what can I do to change that?” Bryden closed his eyes and placed his forehead back against mine. His breath was slightly blowing against my face as he breathed. The faint smell of whiskey and honey lingered in the air. “Let me in…please…just let me in.” His lips were so close to mine and I wanted so badly to kiss him again, but I knew that I couldn’t.
“I can’t.” I whispered.
He opened his eyes and the sadness that I saw almost caused me to cave but the sudden ringing of my cell phone startled me out of the moment. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I looked at the screen, Brett’s name was flashing. “I’ve got to take this…” as Bryden pushed off the wall and turned away from me. “Hey Brett…” I chimed into the phone. I could see Bryden working his jaw back and forth at the sound of his name which caused my heart to ache. He leaned forward and un-did the stop button to allow the elevator to continue climbing up the floors. Then he pushed floor twelve, it was his way of letting me know that I needed to go back to my own room. I wasn’t listening to what Brett was rambling on about in my ear; instead I was watching Bryden standing there like a sad broken man would. My heart was officially confused.

Jet (Marked Men #2) by Jay Crownover

We met Jet on Rule, he is the lead singer of a local heavy metal rock band.  He also has his own studio, where he helps new bands develop their new music. He has a terrible father, who is only interested in being a groupie and cheating on his wife.  Jet's mother has been in this abusive relationship for too long. She has lost herself and has no desire to leave him.
This makes Jet -understandably- have major anger issues which he is able to process through his music.

Ayden is Shaw's best friend. We also met her in Rule.
She is an ambitious southern girl. She wants to finish her school and become someone.  She was there for Shaw in every step of the way.
One night she decided to throw caution to the wind and tries to sleep with Jet.  He turns her down and for over a year nothing happens.  Jet and Ayden become roommates but every time they are together they can't deny their attraction.

It’s this Ayden that I’m worried about. This Ayden deserves to be happy, regardless of what the future holds, and this Ayden is the one who has to decide why she is settling for milk and cookies when what she really wants is edible body paint and furry handcuffs.”

They both fight their feelings until one day, they just can't anymore.

“I wanna have sex, Ayd. Lots and lots of sex... with you and only you. Does it have to be more than that right now?”

Once they are together nothing is the same. Jet and Ayden realize that it's much more than sex.

“Sometimes, things need to change, because there just isn’t any way for them to stay the same.”

Unfortunately, Ayden has a past and when it starts knocking on her door she makes some bad decisions that I was not happy with.

After finishing Rule, I knew I had to read Jet. I enjoyed this book a lot too.
Jet and Ayden were fun together. I liked that Jay builds a back story to every main character. This makes me believe when the hero and the heroine fall in love. Is not instant love. It's day to day living.
My only complaint was with Ayden. Her ability to hurt Jet and herself make me want to scream at my kindle. Drove me insane when she kept on pushing Jet away. Thank the lucky stars she has great friends that can tell her the truth even if she didn't want to admit it.
Same goes for Jet's friends.

“Look, dude, I get that your mom and dad gave you a messed-up idea of what a solid relationship looks like, and I know none of us are going to get gold stars in the monogamy and happy-ever-after department. But I think you can see meant-to-be when it’s staring you in the face.”

Overall, this novel worked for me and I was very happy with the ending.
I was also happy to see Shaw and Rule's love progressing and ecstatic that Rome is back!!!
I have to mention ASA. I hated him. But, by the end of the book I think he's going to be an awesome marked men.

"We were just two people who were meant to be together and that was all there was to it."

Must Love Otters by Eliza Gordon

Must Love Otters
Hollie Porter has had it! She is tired of her job, tired of her 2 year old- going no where relationship, tired of not being able to say no.
When her dad offers her a chance to escape her current life for a few days at a resort, she says yes in a heartbeat. You see, Hollie works as a 911 operator and she has been having a hard time with the ones who don't survive. Her boyfriend is more worried about medical tv shows than keeping the spark alive.  Her neighbor sends her to do her shopping constantly. She needs a new venue and Revelation Cove in British Columbia may be what the doctor ordered.  Hollie thinks a few days away will help her find herself again.

Her first time meeting Concierge Ryan is over the phone. She is drunk while trying to confirm her reservation.

“Yeah, that’s what Ridley says. He’s the bartender. He’s totally hot. But he’s gay.” Ridley winks at me and laughs under his breath. “Ryan—wait—are you gay? Because you sound hot. And you should see Ridley. He looks like The Rock. Not quite that big …” Ridley flexes his tattooed bicep. Kisses it. “Still, smokin’ hot. I’d do him. But he doesn’t want me because I’m not battin’ for the right team.”
“Ridley sounds amazing, but sadly, no, I’m straight.”

During this process she ends up revealing a lot of her current predicaments.

“I’m totally serious here. He made nachos on my stomach. He thought it would be sexy or some shit. ’Cept he burned my boobs with hot sauce.”

The second time she meets him she thinks she will die in a plane crash but luckily this bearded hot guy is a good pilot.
Ryan is an ex hockey player. After a knee injury he retires to Canada. His life is much simpler and he loves what he does. Every time Hollie gets in trouble he is there to help her or pick up the pieces. He can't seem to get enough from this otter lover.

“You and your otters … Enhydra lutris.”
 “You remembered!”
“How could I forget? You’ve tattooed it on my heart.”

This book is very funny. It reminded me of Tangled. Witty banter with comic relief. Hollie seems to get in trouble constantly. You can almost picture her during her ordeals. It's one of those books that you want to watch the movie too.

I wonder if this is the end for these characters or we will see more of them.  I already miss them.

“This, Hollie Porter, this is our raft. We are a raft.”
“Like the otters …”

Make Me (Make or Break #1) by Amanda Heath Blog Tour Package

Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there.” I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with mine. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back. He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine, “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak, “And I’ll be falling right there with you.”

Paisley Vaughn grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. After finding her mother dead from an overdose, Paisley and her baby sister are shipped off to live with her maternal grandparents.
She always knew they were rich, she just didn’t realize how rich they were. Now she’s being forced to go to a prestigious high school. One where the tuition is more money then she’s ever seen.
Thinking these rich kids are going to be snobbish and rude, she’s surprised to find the Vaughn name means she is untouchable. Well unless your name is Channing Southerland.
Paisley has to navigate her new life and all the new people in it. While her mother might have lied about her grandparents, no one is lying about Channing. He’s beautiful, mean, arrogant, and turning her on.
Before long a war is fought, leaving Paisley wondering if she’ll be ruined or made. Though she might just fall irrevocably in love.

“Do you really want me to fall for you?” I whisper.
He gets up from the ground and runs his fingers through his hair. He seems frustrated but I don’t know why. “That’s what I want,” he whispers also. Looking back at me. I can’t see his eyes from here but I know what they look like. Full of fear and uncertainly. “I’m scared though. I’ve never been in a serious relationship. And I really don’t want to fuck this up.”
I’m scared too. Sometimes he consumes my thoughts and that was before I knew how he felt. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like to be with him and I screw up. But I know that I want to fall for him. I know deep in my soul that I will never have a love in my life like I would with Channing.
And that’s the scariest thought I’ve ever had.
“I don’t know if that’s what I want,” I tell him looking away.
He runs his fingers through his hair yet again. “Paisley, don’t fuck with my head. I’ve had enough of that in my life. I can’t do crazy bitches anymore.”
I flinch with the comparison to his mother. To my mother. “I’m not fucking with your head. Maybe we shouldn’t do this.”
I can see he’s pissed now. He’s unable to see my fear that I’m trying to push him away, like he was trying to push me away. “Stop. The. Fucking. Head. Games!” he yells, taking a deep breath after each word.
“I’m not!” I yell back. Who knows what the truth is anymore. I’ve been screwed by a lot of people, but I’m still here. I wouldn’t survive being fucked over by Channing. I wouldn’t survive him breaking my heart.
“Dammit Paisley! Open your fucking eyes! This is fucking real. You and me, that’s real. What we feel isn’t a fling. I’ve never felt this way about anyone in my life. Don’t take it from me,” his voice is pleading.
My body breaks out in a cold sweat and I wipe my palms on my leggings. My limbs shake and I don’t know if I’m mad or just plain fucked up. Maybe it’s me with the commitment issues. No, I know it is me. So I do something for myself, I let go of that fear. Though it comes out more like anger.
“Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there,” I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with me. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back.
He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine. “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak. “And I’ll be falling right there with you.”

Room For You (Cranberry Inn #1) by Beth Ehemann

Room For You

Kacie Jensen is a mother of twin girls. Her husband left her and her babies four years ago.  She is devastated and when her world crashes she goes where she can get the support she needs her mother's Inn.  Kacie's life is just ok.  She misses having a companion but at the same time, she doesn't want to do anything in regards to romance. She is dedicated to her girls and working at the Inn.

When a storm hits the area, the Cranberry Inn gets a few new house guests. One of them is none other than Brody (Michael) Murphy.
Brody is a hockey player. He was visiting his family when the storm hits and has to stop at the Inn when his car gets stuck. His dog is with him. He can't believe his luck when he knocks on the door and a beautiful woman answers. The sparks between Kacie and Brody can turn into a full-blown fire.

“I cleaned up okay, huh? On a scale from one to ten-”
“Six hundred fifty-two.”

They get along well and after a few days, there is definitely potential for so much more. However, Kacie has to think about her girls first.

Can this relationship work when they lived miles apart?

I loved this story. I loved both characters. The dual POV helps tremendously getting to know them and giving them life.
Brody was funny, sweet, romantic and gorgeous. He fell in love with Kacie and her 2 girls almost from the beginning.

"The girls are five. They have you to be their good role model. They want someone who will stomp around in the mud with them and let them stay up late and eat junk food when you’re not home. They need someone fun. Sounds like you do too."

I was rooting for Kacie the whole book. She deserves to be happy and Brody is exactly what she needs.

“Look in my eyes. Yes, you can. You said you trusted me, now come on. Jump in puddles with me.”

This sweet story has become one of this year's favorites. I'm hoping they can find their happily ever after soon.
As secondary characters go, the mothers of this couple are just perfect. They are both supportive and super sweet. Ryan's relationship with his mother was touching. Kacie's friends Lauren and Alexa were fun too. Now, Andy (agent/friend) needs his own book with a nicer woman because Blaire is a horrible witch.

Don't miss out on reading this. This debut novel is a must.

“You. Amaze. Me.”

Rule (Marked Men #1) by Jay Crownover

Rule Archer is a tattoo artist. He goes through life without apologies.  He doesn't get along with his family after his twin brother Remy died. On the other hand, he has a great relationship with his older brother, Rome and has a great set of friends.

Every Sunday, he gets picked up by Shaw Landon for his family's Sunday lunch.  She usually finds him tangled up in bed with a female and sometimes with two.

Rule thought Shaw was her twin's girlfriend.  A preppy little rich girl that Remy "adopted".  What he doesn't know is that Shaw has loved him from the first moment she laid eyes on him. Rule treats her poorly and she keep on coming back for more until one Sunday she is done with the Archers, at least for a while.  She can't be their buffer any longer.  Shaw is also determined to let Rule go.

“The only difference between you and Remy was that he let people love him and you,”
“You have always been determined to make everyone that cares about you prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. You’ve never wanted to be easy to love Rule and you make damn sure that nobody can ever forget it.”

This only lasts until her birthday, plenty of alcohol, loss of inhibitions and a hot Rule come all together.

“True enough and opposites don’t just attract they freaking catch fire and burn the entire city down.”

Then, things are all different.  Rule finds himself wanting to spend time with sweet "Casper" and he discovers the true Shaw.  At some point, he decides to become what he thinks she deserves which is NOT what Shaw wants.  Shaw has always liked the no rules Rule. She loves him with all his tattoos, t- shirts and mohawk.  She doesn't care what color his hair is or how many piercings he has. If she could just make Rule understand this.

“Because it’s always been you even when I didn’t want it to be, even when it broke my heart over and over again. It’s just always been you.”

I have had this book on my TBR for a long time. Now, that Rome is coming out next month, I decided to give Rule a chance. I want to hit myself in the head.  I LOVE Rule and Shaw.  He is a true alpha but he is damaged too.  His relationship with Rome is awesome (Rome is going to be a must read for me). I love how he matures through the book thanks to Shaw's love.  He doesn't change his true character, just lets love heal him.  I definitely recommend this one.

“You have me Shaw, any way you need me, any way you want me, you have me.”

Shaw is pretty awesome too. She is a very likable heroine. So are her friends.

“I almost saw your boyfriend naked this morning.”
I laughed at the look on her face. “I don’t know what to say to that, you’re welcome?”

A super strong 5/5 Fangs.

~ Meet the Author ~

What the hell is up y'all?! I'm Kimber, and I really freaking hope y'all enjoy AWGM! If you get a chance, throw me a review up on my FB page, or Goodreads if you loved it! I am a whore for reviews.
Ahh... let's see, what can I tell you about my self... Well, first of all I'm a straight up whore for many, many things. I'm a wine whore, some would say I'm a functional alcoholic, and I'm totally cool with that title. Now the day my cheese completely falls off my cracker and I lose the functional in that title, well yeah never mind. Even then I'll deny that shit. I'm a whore for Victoria's Secret, no seriously, like my VS Angel's Credit Card stays maxed out, hey, they got cool shit. I have a whole lot of hats, meaning I can be called a billon different things, daughter, wife, mother, labor unit nurse, I sell pussy on the side *coughs* that would be persian kittens, thank you you dirty minded scoundrel, I'm also compulsive blackjack addict, book blogger, book pimp, book whore, Jack Daniels is my favorite boyfriend and my biggest dream, the day I'll acknowledge that I've succeeded in life and can a die a happy woman is the day I get to go two stark naked hour round sexual bouts with Jason Statham. *Sighs* I started writing poems and short stories very early in my life, you know for the Michael's and Leo's and Nick's in my life. I've been a book hoarder since I was eleven years old, but then a couple years ago something wonderful happened! The 50 shades of Grey craze brought to life my inner smut whore where I commenced to read anything and everything smut affiliated. When reading wasn't enough any anymore and I noticed that so many of the authors of my favorite books weren't getting the exposure their work deserved I turned it into a mission, starting my own blog, buying their books and reading them one by one, I then wrote my reviews for my blog and didn't hold back in writing them. I've never done a single thing in my life half way, I always go all in. After the success of my Blog, and the insistence of one of my bestest friends, my sister from another mister, Trina Taylor of Bad & DirtyBooks I was ready to finally take the plunge and write the story that's been restlessly clawing to get out of my head and onto paper for a VERY long time. I'm a southern girl to my core, a self proclaimed smut whore, and I guess now we can add aspiring author to my hat collection as well.
Tattooed across my ribs are the words I have always lived by 'Aut viam inveniam aut faciam tibi' Latin for: If I can not find a way, I will make my own.

Now, I found myself in the same position with Cillian, and I couldn’t do it again. Not only because of Brianna but because I was in love with the fucking guy.
“Leave Brianna and we’ll pick up this conversation at another time. Until that happens…I don’t think I can do this.” My voice was small but firm.
He crawled over my body so he could face me. “Now you’re not playing fair. I told you I would leave her and I will. You can’t deny me—I won’t be able to do this without knowing you’re by my side.”
“And I will be when that Irish bitch is out of your life.” I gritted my teeth together. “You left me in a foreign country for her, and drop kicked my ass outta your life. Now, I’m supposed to drop everything because you give me a few empty promises after mind blowing sex? I want to believe you but we’ve got too damn much history between us, babe. I need to see some actions before I commit to anything.”
Cillian smiled wryly. “Always the fucking attorney. Fine, I’ll show you actions but you better keep up your end of the bargain.”
I turned over onto my side away from him. “Don’t worry about me. Unlike you, I don’t make promises I can’t keep.”

The Truth About Us (Mills Lake #1) by T.J. Hannah

The Truth About Us
ARC received by author in exchange for an honest review.

Sophia is running away from her family and her old life. She has a secret that follows her, even in her dreams.
She moves into a tiny town to start over and she is ready to reinvent herself.

First, Sophia decides to answer a Craiglist add and ends up getting two roommates, Tobie and Tosh.  They are a couple and they're expecting their first baby.
Then, she takes the position as a bartender in a little bar. Soon she meets Corbin Kasey and feels a pull towards him that she has never felt before.

Corbin has his own demons. His father is the owner of the bar. Too bad he is also an alcoholic which leaves Corbin the responsibility to keep the place and the employees out of the red.

“Other days I’m the guy who was given an opportunity to learn a trade. The Uncle to the most wickedly smart nephew in existence. I’m the one who has friends better than I could ever have asked for. That keeps a bar going and people employed. I put a roof over a useless man’s head because I can’t bear where he’d be without me. I’m the guy who looked at a girl once and the girl looked back. So it's not all bad. It's never all bad."

Corbin doesn't do relationships but has a regular girl. He doesn't need another complication in his life.
He has a good set of friends and roommates, a great cousin and his idea of relaxation is to swim in Mills Lake.

"Life is about family, but family isn’t always just blood. The family we choose sometimes is more important than the family we’re born into.”

When Corbin meets Sophia he tries to stay away but soon he recognizes that this is not possible and he gives into his feelings which run much deeper than what he thought at first.

"Once you set your eyes on the right woman, you might as well be dead. Your every action from that point on is for her and her alone."

I really liked this book. This is the author's debut novel and I think she did a great job. The story flows smoothly and the characters are likable.  It helps that this book is written in dual POV's.
The emotions these two broken characters have felt true to me. (Ex: Sophia's panic attacks). I thought Corbin was great.  He was not a perfect guy, which made him even more human to me.

“It’s a fucking tragedy,” he murmurs against my skin, lightly kissing my neck. “What is?” I don’t mean for it to sound like nothing but air but I’m concentrating too much on containing myself. “You and me, sweet Sophia. Nothing that feels this good ends well.”

The secondary characters were well written too. Specially, Tobie and Tosh. I fell in love with this sweet couple. I wonder what will happen to them in books to come.

And, you know what the best part of the books was:
Can't wait to see where the next book takes us.

The Spider (Elemental Assassin, #10) by Jennifer Estep

The Spider
ARC provided by Net Galley.

This one was a little different.
The story begins with Gin receiving  a box of  roses.  This reminds her only of one past event that marked her life a decade earlier.
We are transported back to a time where the Tin Man and Mab are still alive. Gin is just beginning to make her name as the Spider.  She is not as patient or as powerful as she is now.
The Spider gets a new contract. A construction company's owner is abusing his daughter and someone wants him dead. Gin is happy to oblige.
There is just a little problem, the son of her new mark is attracted to Gin and for the first time in a while Gin wants to return the affection.
How can this relationship work??

Gin is her twenties, she is attending school, learning the ropes as an assassin.  She is trying to show the Tin Man that she can do it on her own.  While reading her thoughts you see how immature she is. She can be "sloppy" and can trust too easily.  We also learned that Donovan was not the first man Gin has loved.  I felt bad for Gin, she was hurt emotionally and physically in this book.  Luckily, this is the past and in the present she has friends, family and Owen's love.
My one and only complaint towards The Spider is the lack of Owen. I love those violet eyes and I missed them too much.  Bring him back Jennifer.  He needs more page time.

Maci Price isn't really into relationships. Having four very protective older brothers has always made having a boyfriend very difficult anyway. But her friend is set on finding her the right guy—and thinks the mysterious Connor Green is the perfect pick.

Connor Green is trying to find himself again. He loved, then lost, and it's time for him to pick up the pieces. His brooding is making his friends crazy, but Maci, who has grown up into a gorgeous and incredibly sexy woman, is about to break the spell.

They're made for each other
When Maci starts up old pranks to get Connor out of his slump, an all-out war leads to a night that will break all their rules … and a relationship they must keep hidden. Together they're electric. Apart they're safe. And soon they'll each find that they're exactly what the other needs.

~ About the Author ~

My name is Robin and I live in Alabama. I grew up an army brat and traveled a lot until we finally settled down along the Gulf Coast when I was 4. My husband is 9 years younger so I guess that makes me a COUGAR. I have a little girl who is 9 and is blind as well as autistic. My life is not boring with them two in it. Believe me.
I have always loved creating and I would constantly draw on my walls. I love painting and reading. Writing is something I wanted to do but didn't think I could, until I woke up at three a.m. a few months back and started writing. Life has a way of throwing rocks at you and putting cracks in your soul. Either you can duck and cover or you can make something beautiful from the cracks.
After that, the story took over. Even though some pieces of my life experience are within it, it is Tru and Jax’s story now. I have truly fell in love with this story and hope you all do too.
