Spoiled. Selfish. Rich girl. Villan. Slut.

As the Prada-clad bad girl of Rosemary Beach, Nan Dillon has been called every vile name under the hot summer sun. Some of her reputation is deserved—she’s never had to worry about anything but maintaining her perfect figure and splitting Daddy’s private jet with her brother, Rush.

But Nan is far from happy. Rush has another kid on the way and doesn’t have time to catch up with his sister. Grant, the last guy she truly cared about, chose to be with her half-sister, Harlow, instead of her. And Harlow, who has never gotten over the way Nan treated her when she first moved to town, remains distant.

So when Major asks her out, she jumps at the chance to date the gorgeous charmer. Though she doesn’t know much about the sweet-talking Texan, and though it’s clear he doesn’t want to be exclusive, dating him beats hanging out with vapid socialites or watching Netflix alone at home.

For a while, Nan deals with Major’s playboy ways, but after he burns her one too many times, she takes off for an impromptu wild weekend in Vegas. There, she meets Gannon, a darkly seductive and oh-so-dangerous businessman who knows exactly how to handle her.

With Major asking for a second chance and Gannon haunting her dreams, Nan has to decide who to give her heart to. But what she doesn’t realize is that these players are involved in a much bigger game—and they’re already two moves ahead of her.

This series has been a series that has always been special to me. It was a series I know I could always look forward to. They might have not been my favorite books of all time, but they were still enjoyable. I was sad yet excited to read this book. I couldn't believe that this series was coming to an end, but I was looking forward to seeing how Glines would wrap this up. Then, I found out that this last book was going to be about my least favorite character, Nan.

The idea of Nan being the main character made me skeptical. I have always been a firm #NanHater, but I had a feeling that Glines was going to try to change my opinion on Nan in this book. After reading the book, I can say that I understand Nan more. However, I am definitely not a #NanLover. I still consider myself a #NanHater. I might not hate her as much, but I still don't like her.

My issue with Nan in this book was that I felt like she didn't really grow as a character. She sort of did, but not really. I liked being able to understand why she was mean to everyone, but it didn't really excuse her actions. Plus, she didn't really change her ways. I was expecting more growth in that department! Ugh.

I would have liked to see Nan grow slowly through out the book and change her ways. I was disappointed that she barley change. At least she started to think about being nice to the people who were so kind to her. I guess that's something.

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the romance in this book, especially because it seemed like there would be a love triangle. However, the romance was better than I expected. The romance wasn't my favorite in this series, but it definitely had some good moments. Nan and the men in this book have some insta-lust. I wouldn't necessarily call it insta-love, but they definitely had the hots for each other right away. I don't want to spoil anything that happens, but I will say that I was happy with who Nan ended up with. I think Nan and that man are well suited for each other. Their connection was a little sudden, but it worked for them. It was nice to see Nan end up with someone who loved her thorns and all.

The drama in this book did seem a bit extreme and almost like a soap opera. However, it made the book extremely exciting. The drama and mystery woven into this book kept me glued to the pages. I loved all of the twists and turns Glines threw into the book. Those aspects of the book were my favorite part of the book.

Since this book was the last book in the series, I was expecting to see a lot of wrap up for the characters from the previous books. I was disappointed that this book was kind of lacking in that department. I wish this book would have had more resolution on certain characters and storylines. I did not feel like this book gave me a proper goodbye to all of the fantastic characters in this series. I am hoping that maybe Glines will write a novella to properly wrap up all of the storylines.

Overall, this was a fast and entertaining read. However, this book wasn't exactly what I was hoping for in the final book in this series. I do think fans of this series should still read this book and figure out if they are truly a #NanHater or a #NanLover.

I have been a faithful follower of the Rosemary Beach Series for a while now. I first started the series when only the first two books were out and still self published! Rush and Blaire made me fall in love with the series, but I stayed because I became so attached to every character. I was there through all of the ups and downs, all of the heartbreaks, all of the tears of pain and joy! I feel like I'm part of the family! I despised Nan for such a long time and was torn when I first heard that she would be getting her own story, mostly because I didn't know if she could be redeemed.

Nan has really transformed from being a selfish little brat to a young woman who is really trying to find her own way. The book starts with her hoping to have a relationship with one guy and sort of turns into a love triangle. I didn't really know if either of the relationships would turn out to be real and felt really horrible for Nan, because everyone deserves love even her. Abbi gave me everything I've come to expect from her books, dirty talk, sex, and most importantly DRAMA! But she also added a little more spice this time as well, lets just say the sex was a bit more aggressive than the other books in this series. Adding the amazing angst to it and I was highly entertained! I honestly couldn't put it down! It wasn't my favorite in the series, but it's hard to pick a favorite because I just absolutely adore this series so much!

I'm actually hoping that Abbi will change her mind and keep writing this series because she definitely has material to keep it going for at least a couple more books, but only time will tell. I may never love Nan but I do have a new opinion of her, and even respect her too! The bad girl of Rosemary Beach is no longer, she can now live her life knowing she has been redeemed!

The Binding by Nicholas Wolff

Title: The Binding
Author: Nicholas Wolff
Release Date: June 28, 2016
Publisher: Gallery Books

When a rare mental disorder begins to consume his small-town neighbors, a young psychiatrist digs up the past for clues to the epidemic’s bone-chilling source in this brilliant supernatural horror debut, written in the bestselling tradition of Peter Straub.

Convinced that evil spirits have overtaken his daughter, a desperate father introduces her to Nat Thayer, a young psychiatrist in their sleepy blue-blooded Massachusetts college town. Thayer quickly diagnoses the girl with Cotard Delusion, an obscure condition sometimes described as “walking corpse syndrome.” But Thayer soon realizes his patient—and many of the local families—are actually being targeted by a malignant force resurrected from the town's wicked history. Thayer must discover the source of the spreading plague…before there is no one left to save.

The binding was scary at times. If I'm honest, I had to stop reading it after the first few chapters since I was home alone. I decided to read it during the day instead.
Can you blame me? A dark power is among the town and people are dying but they might not be dead after all!!

The Binding is a tale of horror with compelling characters and paranormal situations. The main characters kept me guessing. I was trying to discover who was behind the killings.

Nat Thayer is a young psychiatrist who gets involved in a new case when a man comes looking for help with his daughter Becca. Becca believes herself to be dead and in the body of someone else. Nat is fascinated with her once he realizes she is suffering from Cotard Delusion, also named Walking Corpse Syndrome. But, what if the girl is not mistaken and she is telling the truth?
Yes, that's the real question.

The other plot line comes from the sheriff John and his young son Charlie. John can't believe what's happening in his town but he needs to put a stop to it. He feels that this is very important to him and his son.

Following these two characters trying to piece the past and current events was fun. I won't reveal much of the story but I can say it was  quite engaging.

I do wish that the book had a little more detail with the ending. I still have some questions I didn't feel were answered.

Cliffhanger: No

HARD TO SERVE EXCERPT – Mia’s Interest:

So many readers asked for more stories in my bestselling Hard Ink series, and I’m so excited to be able to give you just that in my new, super sexy HARD TO SERVE! HARD TO SERVE is an edgy stand-alone love story about a Baltimore police detective whose red-hot BDSM relationship with a new submissive seems like the perfect distraction from a trumped-up investigation against him until he learns that the woman is his boss’s daughter. Talk about sparks flying! I had so much fun writing this book, and I can’t wait for everyone to read it! And if you enjoy it, you might like to check out the whole Hard Ink series, now complete! Happy reading!

Kyler pressed a kiss to Mia’s forehead. “You can trust me to take care of you.” Sitting back, his gaze swept down her face, enjoying the pleased expression she wore. From the promise of his words or the kiss? He laid his hand against her sternum and slowly slid his palm upward until his thumb and fingers separated around the base of her throat. He applied just the slightest amount of pressure there.

She sucked in a breath, and that one reaction surged blood into his cock. Mia squirmed, rocketing his arousal even further.
“Be still,” he gritted out.
She froze, her eyes on his.
“How important is the breath play to you?” Her eyes dilated, her expression read as needy, and her breathing quickened. Her obvious excitement went a long way toward answering the question. And these reaction were exactly what he loved about it. But did she need it?
“I don’t have to have it, but…” She looked down, her eyelashes fanning out against her skin.
“Look at me and finish that sentence,” he said, his voice full of grit. Because against his fingers, her pulse was flying.
“But it probably excites me more than anything else, and it gets me off faster than anything else,” she said, her cheeks turning beautifully pink.
“Does it now?” Not that he really needed to ask. His grip tightened, just a little.
“Yes, Sir,” she whispered, her voice breathy, full of desire.
“Say my name,” he said, wanting to hear it with all that arousal coloring her tone.
“Yes, Master Kyler.”
Fucking hell

In a quick move, he slid his hand up her back and fisted her ponytail, tugging her head backward and her whole body closer. Hand still gripping her throat, he shifted them so that she was almost reclining, allowing him to look down into her face.
And he thought her pulse had been flying before.
“You like to be choked?”
“Yes, Sir.”
“Choked to the point of not being able to breathe?”
“Yes, Sir.”
His grip tightened. “Gagged?”
“Yes. Sir,” she added, as if she’d momentarily forgotten protocol.
Jesus Christ, his cock was like fucking steel. “Asphyxiated to the point of passing out?” he asked, his gut twisting.
“I’ve never done that. The idea of it…” He nailed her with a stare, allowing her the time to gather the words the little furrow in her brow said she was looking for. “It both excites me and scares me, but I’m not sure which more.”
“Thank you for the honesty. I won’t go that far, Mia. I won’t put plastic over your head and I won’t duct tape your mouth. I also won’t use any bondage position that hangs you primarily by the throat or neck. If any of those are things you need, I won’t be able to give them to you,” he said, hoping like hell she didn’t need them. Occasionally, he had a moment of discomfort—maybe even cognitive dissonance—about the fact that he was both a cop and a Dom who got off on bondage and submission and spanking and even role-playing scenarios that flirted with non-consent. Because he’d seen the trauma real abuse caused. But what he did was safe, sane, and consensual, and he drew the line where any of those three might be compromised, which in his opinion included the edgier breath play.
A fast shake of her head. “No. I don’t want any of that. I just want—” Her eyes went wide.
“What, little one?” Satisfaction at her answer mixed with curiosity about what she’d not said. He needed to know.

Her throat worked under his hand in a hard swallow. “You.”

Hard To Serve serves as a bridge between the Hard Ink books and the new BDSM series by Laura Kaye.

Kyler Vance was an important character in the Hard Ink series. He was the cop who was hurt during one of the many confrontations they had with the bad guys.  After weeks of getting shot he still hasn't regained full capacity of his shoulder/arm and Internal Affairs is still over him. Frustrated to no end, he goes to the one place where he can have control: Blasphemy. Kyler is one of the 12 Doms who owned the club. When Mia walks in, he knows who he wants next.

Mia Breslin knows what she wants. She likes being a sub and she has heard of the club Blasphemy. One night after a successful time at her Gallery, she's excited to celebrate at this place. She hopes to find a Dom who can give her what she wants. When she meets Kyler, she knows he's exactly what she was looking for.

I had no idea Laura was writing another series. I'm not a huge BDSM fan but I knew that if Laura wrote it, I was going to read it. I'm always pleased with her writing style. It was easy to like the characters. It helped that I already knew Kyler. Cameos of the Hard Ink crowd made it even more fun for me.

Even though Mia and Kyler were attracted to each other from the first moment they meet, the story didn't feel insta-love to me.

Many of the other Doms intrigued me. Laura gave us enough details to hook us for her next book. I can't wait.
