Touch Me (Touch #1) by T.H. Snyder

Touch Me

Synopsis

Char is a focused and driven career woman who's had a relationship she would rather choose to forget, but can't.  Riley is a pure gentleman who can easily leave the past where it belongs, behind him. Some people believe in fate where others deem it a coincidence. Char and Riley are meant to be together, so life just happens to make sure they are in the right place at the right time. But is that enough?   You’ll be falling in love with this dynamic duo as they find out who they are and why fate keeps making sure their lives are intertwined.  Their differences are what make them all too similar, and throughout the course of their journey there is one thing that always brings them back together...the need for each other's touch.

PROLOGUE

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 2, 2012 At this very moment I’m sitting on the back of a Harley, which could very well be stolen, setting off into the sunset with an amazing guy. His strong muscular form is driving and the vibrations of the motor send shivers through our bodies. I recall the past few years I’d spent with my ex-boyfriend, Marc. I close my eyes and rest my chin on this man’s back. It’s easy to remember the heartache and the pain of loneliness. I can still sense the tears I shed for Marc. My ex never cared for me the way I loved him. I was in love with Marc for years; he played my family and me for fools. Marc stole my heart and stomped on it the day I found him in bed with my best friend Natalie. That day I lost Marc and I lost a huge part of me as well. I told myself I wouldn’t give my heart to another man again. The wind ripping through us feels cool against my body and it’s tangling through my thick, wavy, brown hair. I scan my eyes looking down along his powerfully built chest and see my arms wrapped around his waist for fear that I may fall. The mere thought of falling in love scared me for too long. My eyes move over his broad left shoulder and I catch a glimpse of my reflection in the side mirror. The twinkle in my big-brown eyes and the smile across my face bring out an emotion as if I’m a little girl just waking up Christmas morning. I have a sense of freedom that I haven't experienced in a long time. I never imagined emotions this strong would consume me again. The past few weeks are nothing I ever imagined. This man in front of me is the one who allows me to be me. He loves me for the person I am, not the woman he wants me to be.

My Review:

Char is still healing after her break up with her ex-boyfriend Marc.  He cheated on her with her best friend.  Luckily, she has a great family, a good job and her sister's boyfriend Derrick.  Derrick has become her best friend too.
Derrick is in need of a roommate.  He places an add on Craigslist.  Riley has just moved to Boston and answers Derrick's add.  He is looking for a new job and something to distract him from his family problems.
Riley is tall, has tattoos, has brown hair, wear glasses and has a dog. What's not to love?

The first time Char and Riley meet is not the best but things change when they have time to talk and get to know each other.  They are both attracted to each other.  Soon things are spiraling out of control but Char is still hurting and she doesn't want to give herself again but she knows she wants Riley in her life.  Chloe helps Char move forward.
This story was sweet.  There is no major disaster preventing this couple to have an HEA.  If anything the book felt too short for me. I wanted more of their lives.  I especially liked Derrick and Chloe and I can't wait for their story!

Meet the Author --->Tera Shanley

Born and raised in small town Texas, Tera Shanley grew up in books. Her cousin gifted her a signed copy of Beauty by Bill Wallace when she was young and that was it for her. So smitten was she with getting lost in a story, that while other eleven year olds her age were groaning at the accelerated reader program in school, she was racking up the points just for fun.

Balancing chronic book-wormyness is her devotion to the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, camping - her soul is happiest out of doors. And lucky for Tera, her family feels the same. She grew up a wild child helping her grandma ranch cattle, and has a hundred memories out in the wilderness which tend to influence her books.

When she's not eating chocolate, slinging rifles, or soaking up some sun, she's lost in a book, but these days it's more often one she's writing. From historic western romance, to paranormal romance, to apocalyptic (zombie) romance, the genre doesn't matter quite as much to her as the love story.

She currently lives with her husband and two young children, and is owned by two crazy mini-cujos. Twitter Facebook Blog Website Zombie Street Team Newsletter Goodreads

Cover Reveal
Never Let Go Cover Reveal by Scarlett Edwards

Title: Never Let Go
Author: Scarlett Edwards
Genre: New Adult Romance
Publication Date: October 15, 2013

Synopsis

The start of college heralds new beginnings and new friendships. It gives every girl a chance to reinvent herself.
I go and screw mine up by meeting the most gorgeous guy I've laid eyes on in five years while talking to my cat outside my dorm.
But Andrew Crowner is far from judgmental. After helping me move my things to my room, he has me smitten by his easy manners and kind smile. And from the way his eyes linger on me before he leaves, I start to think that maybe I've caught his attention, too.
I let myself believe that luck might finally be on my side until I stumble upon my roommate... and her overnight guest. Spencer Ashford.
Lean and tattooed, sexy as sin and dangerous, Spencer is exactly the type I want to avoid. I would have no trouble with that... were it not for his swift and inexplicable interest in me.
In the span of a week, I go from a girl with next-to-no experience with boys to one caught in the cross hairs of two totally different men.
Andrew's interest is wholesome and sweet. Spencer's is edgy and raw. The choice should be easy. But there are always complications, and sometimes, matters of the heart take the least expected turns.

Broken Ever After by Natalie Graham

Broken Ever After
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Olivia Stevens is madly in love with her teacher Jamie Matthews.
The story is set in London and Olivia is a sixth form student. She is eighteen. Jamie is 26. She has had a crush on him for 6 years.  She is about to finish her year when she discovers that the attraction is returned.  Jamie wants her too.
In the beginning Jamie is great.  He is sweet, protective, romantic and honest. Or so we think. There are many twists in this story and at times it drove me crazy trying to keep up with the deceptions.
There are other players in this story including a crazy jealous ex, a super awesome Uncle Austin, Riley who made me so so so mad.
Jamie's parents were almost non existent.
At the end of Broker Ever After, it left me with tons of questions.  I will definitely read the second book to get all the answers including Jamie's behavior. I wonder if Riley will complicate matters even more.
As a side note, I know this is Natalie's first novel so congrats!!

Viper's Run (The Last Riders #2) by Jamie Begley

Viper's Run
Winter Simmons is a school principal.  She dated Loker James for two years but during that time she had no idea he was Viper, the president of The Last Riders MC.  She is completely shocked by this news. She is mad he lied to her. (She even thought he was gay!) but when she is brutally attacked Viper is there for her.  He takes her to the Club's home.  He hires a physical therapist for her.
The Club caring for Winter made it more human.  All those guys taking her up on the stairs all the time to avoid her getting injured again was sweet.

"There are seventy-five steps, everyone has counted them. Twice. There is no need to put that kind of pressure on your back."-Shade

Talking about Shade, I can't wait for his story. We have watched his love for Lily unfolding.  It's going to be a winner.
Winter's healing is slow but the girls of the Club all help.
Same as Beth from Razor's Ride, Winter has a hard time accepting Viper's lifestyle.
Viper is an alpha through and through. He is an ex-military guy.   I actually like him more than I did Razer.

"The Last Riders were a part of his life, one that he had no intention of leaving. He wanted to share it with the woman he loved. Winter was that woman. If she would just let her guard down long enough to see that he was willing to give her anything she wanted, she would stop letting her fears control her."

This MC family has become a must in my TBR.
Book 3 where are you? I believe it's Knox's story. Is Diamond the girl??

Promise Me Light (Promise Me #2) by Paige Weaver

Promise Me Light
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Book 2 picks up fourteen days after Promise Me Darkness ends.
Maddie is still dealing with Ryder's absence.  She misses him dearly and she's still keeping her secret.
Life is still hard without electricity and everyone is in survival mode.
Ryder's brother Gavin is trying to protect her. Same with Cash.  I think Cash is my favorite character after Ryder.
I have a love-hate relationship with Ryder. He can be so obtuse and cold sometimes but you can feel the love he has for Maddie is real.  He is battling with his own demons but he will do anything for her even when he is hurt.
This series scared me a little. I mean I had to ask my husband if he had a survival plan for something like this.
(Thankfully he does. LOL. I can see solar panels in my future).
Maddie was a survivor.  She has lost so much but she keeps on going even trying to search for Ryder.
I know this story can't be done.  I think Eva and Brody as well Cash need an HEA.  Don't you??
One more thing- I love the Cover.  Those eyes are like a magnet.

" I love you, Maddie. You're my past. My present. My future. You're my life. And I will always love you."

Razer's Ride (The Last Riders #1) by Jamie Begley

Razer's Ride
Beth Cornett is part of a small town. She works helping as many people as she can around the community.  She also helps her sister Lily who is starting college and has issues due to her childhood.
Beth is a sweet innocent girl.  She goes to church every Sunday and is happy with her life for the most part.

"She is unbelievable,"Evie ranted to herself. "She remembers one fucking compliment I paid her nine months ago and she buys me one even prettier. What woman does that? We are jealous bitches."

A new motorcycle club has moved to her home town. They go by the name of The Last Riders.
Razer is part of the group and he sets his eyes on the young innocent girl but just after a few times with her, he is done with her.
This is where the story gets interesting.  The hero will realize his mistake and will try to get the girl back.
Now, if only Beth can live with his lifestyle.  This club is open in regards to their sex life.  Some of the girls (Stori, Evie, Bliss, Ember Jewell, Natasha) live there full time. None of the guys have just one girlfriend.  There is also the question of fidelity is you do become the special one.  At times this is too much for Beth.
Razer will learn that sometimes Beth can't forgive and a little groveling is in order.

"You are incapable of giving me the relationship I need to be happy, which involves trust, fidelity and love. Because eve if you swore to do all three, I would never ever believe in you again."

Beth was a truly amazing characters.  She was so sweet and selfless.
There is no cliffhanger.
Fang warning: The sex is not for the faint of the heart.  There are plenty steamy scenes.

I was gladly surprised by this book. Now I will need to know all the character's stories.  The one I want the most is Lily and Shade's.  I really can't wait for their story.  I also think even pastor Dean needs his own HEA.

 Prologue
(unedited - subject to change)

He walked out into the hot summer air and breathed in deeply. It had been so long since he could breathe freely. His shoes crunched across the gravel in the parking lot and he thought of her. It’s all her fault I have lost these past five years of his life. She took his freedom away. His rage built with every step he took as he approached the cab that was waiting for him. He hated these disgusting things but he did not want anyone to know he was back. He carried himself with a refined grace of the social elite. He stood just over six foot two inches with broad shoulders, dark wavy hair, piercing blue eyes and chiseled features. He had a scar that ran about an inch long from the outer edge of his left eyebrow and continued down below his eye. A souvenir courtesy of his father he saw every time he looked into the mirror, it didn’t detract from his beauty, and in fact it had the opposite effect. It added a dangerous flare to him that women found irresistible. He could have his pick of any woman at any time. He loved the power he had over them.
After giving the driver his address he sat back and watched the city go by trying to keep his mind off of her. He was trying to focus on what had changed and what had stayed the same, anything to distract his thoughts from her. He was thankful that he had enough money so he could ride out this whole unfortunate situation without losing everything. He chuckled to himself at the knowledge that she would never know what was coming for her. He smiled for the first time since he walked out in the heat. He unlocked the front door and strode into his home, his castle. Everything was as it had been the last time he was there all those years ago. This was good because he didn’t want to take the time to contact the caretaker if he had done anything wrong. He had a limited time to do what he needed to do before heading to the east coast. He climbed the stairs and went to the secret room that he had built himself behind the master bedroom closet and held his breath before entering, scared that someone might have found it. But if they had found it things would be quite different now. It was a small room, only twenty-five square feet with the walls covered with pictures of his women. One of the walls had what he considered miscellaneous “tools” he liked to use on his women, while another whole wall was dedicated floor to ceiling to women that he had killed. It showed them in all different scenarios from being out in public to in their own homes. He paused for a moment remembering raping and killing each and every one of them. As always it brought a calm over him to remember them. He lightly kissed each one before he slowly turned his attention to the other pictures on a wall of their own. This wall belonged solely to her, the one that got away. It still angered him that he was unable to finish what he had started. He crossed to his favorites of her. One night while she slept he had snuck into her home and took a picture of her sleeping. She had a smile on her face; he liked to think she was dreaming of him. While she slept he had hid the cameras and bugs in her home. It was daring doing that while she was their but he needed the extra thrill of possibly being caught. He closed his eyes remembering going back up to her bedroom for one last look. It had taken everything he had not to take her then but there are times when it makes it better to wait. He moved to absolute favorite picture of her, the one that made him hard every time. She was naked and tied to her bed just before she woke up. It was the moment before her eyes opened and she figured out what was going on. The calm before the storm. A smile spreads across his face. He unzipped his pants aching for the release and started jerking off to the thought of doing it to her again, but not being interrupted. This time he would make sure he killed her while he was coming inside of her. He threw back his head and screamed her name as he came.

Out of Line (Out Of Line #1) by Jen McLaughlin

Carrie is a senator's daughter.  She has been overprotected her whole life.  Finally as a freshman in college she will get some freedom. Although, in the back of her mind she believes her dad will send someone to protect her.  During a frat party he meets Finn Coram.  He seems to be a surfer, a biker and a marine. The last thing she expected him to be is her new man sent by her dad to look after her.

Carrie is a genuine heroine. She has a lot of good in her. She is sweet and caring.

"Positive as a Proton"

Finn is all alpha. He is a Marine, but has ties to California and surfing.   He is swoon worthy.  I fell in love with him pretty fast.

I must've grown up since I left, because I preferred wearing a suit with a Glock or a pair of cammies...with a badass M-16.

I didn't see the end coming.  Rambling begins:
Oh no she did not leave me like this. No way! Oh my I can't believe this was not a stand alone. I need to know what happens. I must know now.  2014,  that has to be a joke, right??

Learning to Live

ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Trudy Love has a beautiful name but has not had a beautiful life. She has been in the foster care system until she turned 18. She moves in with her boyfriend who turns out to be a cousin of the devil and so are his junkie friends. Let's just say that she experiences horrible abuse.

At 19 she has moved away from all her recent horrible experiences and starts college. She gets a new roommate, Jasmine Coleman (Jazz) and meets her brother Jaxon.

Jaxon Coleman's life changes when he meets Trudy. He falls for her almost from the moment he notices her.

They have an attraction that Trudy tries to avoid but Jax is persistent. (yes he goes by JAX- so I immediately loved him).

"I move so I’m less than an inch from her beautiful lips and whisper, “If you’ve already convinced yourself of reasons why you shouldn’t like me, then it’s only fair that I get to argue my reasons as to why you should.” I slowly put my lips on hers and feel, for the first time, that I’m where I belong."

Trudy has a hard time opening up to anybody. Even a hug can be overwhelming. She has had no love in her life until now. I can understand how hard her situation was. Little by little she will experience everything she has missed in her life and it is wonderful to read about it.

I love Jax's POV as well, he is such a guy.

There are sad parts in this book. You can feel the pain Trudy has gone through. She is stronger now than she was at 18. There is a huge reveal at the end.

Now, I'm eager to see where the next story is going. Thanks Kimmie for recommending the book!

"The right one is always worth the struggle."

Everything For Us (The Bad Boys #3) by M. Leighton

Everything For Us
This is Marissa's story. We all love to hate Olivia's cousin Marissa in Down to Me.  She was a real witch. Luckily by the end of Up to Me, we notice a glimpse of the new Marissa. She changes after being kidnapped. She wants to change her life.  She wants to leave her "plastic" life behind and start living.  She doesn't expect to fall for a dangerous guy, but she does.  In the middle of all this we still have the mafia to worry about.  We also see glimpses of Olivia and Cash's love.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series.  There are some pretty steamy scenes.
I sure hope the next books is about Gavin.
One thing I thought it was pretty cool is making me like Marissa after I disliked her so much in the first book (I sure hope Abbi Glines never does this with Nan. I think it will be impossible for me to like that one).

Just Human (Just Human #1) by Kerry Heavens

Just Human
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
Liv is disillusioned after wasting four years of her life with a cheater.  She has decided to take it easy on the love department.  Fate has other plans for her.
Liv grew up with Danny.  They were in love but in the end when his family had to move back to the States, Liv decides to let Danny go.  They were only teenagers after all.
Twelve years later she is single again and Danny is back in her life thanks to Facebook.  Danny knows he wants Liv in his life and will do anything for her but living on two different continents could be deal breaker.

This book was amazing.
What a wonderful journey? I love both characters but Danny is my favorite.  He is so open, so loving and a romantic.
I love second chance love stories and this one is beautifully written.

“You left, but it wasn't your fault. So you've stayed perfect in my memory. I guess my fear is, if I let myself love you, you might turn out to be just human. And if you're just human, you could easily hurt me too. I couldn't survive being hurt by you Danny.”

There is so much love between the main characters.
At some point they take a a vacation together, I felt like I was right there with them.  His dad list is saved for a future trip.

1. Climb the tower 2. Eat moules frites on the market square 3. Drink the beer. Kwak & Kriek Boon 4. Carriage ride 5. Canal boat 6. Waffles 7. Fries & mayonnaise from the frietkotjes (vans in the square) 8. The old chocolate house or Bittersweet – for hot chocolate

I should mention that the secondary characters were great too.  Liv has Max and Danny has Jen.

Now, I do have to prepare you, there is a cliffhanger and it is MAJOR.  It is still gets a 5 because of how good the story flows.

“I have always loved you, Liv.”

Up to Me (The Bad Boys #2) by M. Leighton

Up to Me
Up to Me is a continuation of book 1- Down to You, so if you haven't read it you are missing out.

Cash and Olivia are in love. Cash wants nothing more than to be with her.  There is just a little problem with the Russian mafia that may interfere.  Someone may be kidnapped. There is a huge twist in this book.  I did love it though.
Olivia's thoughts are still funny and Cash is still a dangerous guy.
We meet one more character that must get his own book and that is Gavin.  He stole the show at times. would be a shame not to write about him.

“If it was up to me, I’d make the world disappear and it would be just us. Just you and me.”

Let Love In (The Love Series #1) by Melissa Collins

Let Love In
Madeleine Baker is a girl starting college.  She is going to be sharing her suite with her best friend Melanie Crane. When Madeleine was ten she lost her parents.  Since then she has tried to stay clear from deep feelings towards boys.  To her surprise as soon as she gets to college she meets Reid Connely.  At the beginning Reid is a Jerk but soon he can't stay away from her.  He also has some deep secrets he steers clear from sharing but for how long?

Maddy was your typical freshman girl. She had spark, determination and was a survivor. She decided she was going to be a happy person before starting college:

They’re very simple promises, but ones that I hope will wipe the slate clean.
1. Choose happy.
2. Appreciate beauty.
3. Let love in.
Like I said, simple, refreshingly simple.

She tried to stay away from Reid but soon he was breaking down all of her walls. She was a good heroine and I really liked her. Reid turns out to be super sweet and he was so in love.  The things he said. Sigh!

You’ve completely knocked me off my game. I’ve never met anyone like you and it scares the shit out me. It’s like you don’t see my.” My brow furrows in confusion and I move to interrupt but he continues before I get the chance. “You don’t see me; you see straight through me. You see beyond the outside and it’s like you see the me that no one else sees. I saw it in your eyes that first night I met you and it knocked me on my ass. I was a goner and since then I guess I’ve just been trying to push you away.

This book does end in a cliffy -just a heads up.  I want book 2 bad.

Emma Taylor's life changes after spilling her coffee on a stranger. He is tall, dark and dangerous, Teren Adams. She gives him her number thinking that she may need to pay for his dry cleaning. Teren Adams surprises her by calling her and asking her on a date. He seems quite normal but as weeks progress she starts noticing weird things. Soon he can't hide what he is from her when his fangs come out. At the beginning everything is fine after the initial surprise but then things get quite complicated.

I love Emma, she doesn't even blink about the vampires. She has confidence in herself and goes through life in a free spirited kind of way. She never wallows in self pity. She is so different than other heroines (including Kiera).

Teren was awesome. He was a great guy. He is kind, caring, he still blushes at times, but he can be protective too. I liked his family as well.

The ending of book one was sweet.

Beautiful Bombshell
Bennett and his friends are in Vegas. They are celebrating an early bachelor's party.  Ben and Max are however distracted.  Their girls (Chloe and Sara) are in Vegas too and it is Valentine's day.  Soon Max and Bennett will find a way to leave their friends and find their true loves even if it is only for a few minutes or an hour.  Trying to leave unnoticed may be harder than they think.

As always this series is funny and the banter is still very much alive. I can't wait for book 3 and read about Will's downfall into love.

Faking It (Losing It #2) by Cora Carmack

Faking It
Faking It is about Cade Winston. If you read Losing It you know Cade.
Cade is heartbroken at the beginning of the book. He is trying really hard to get over someone (we know her) and his prayers are answered.  He is minding his own business when a girl approaches him and asks him for help.  The name of the girl is Max Miller. Her parents are in town and they won't approve of her current boyfriend so she needs someone wholesome pronto.  Since Cade is an actor he agrees to play the part of the doting boyfriend.  Max's parents love Cade and soon Max needs Cade for more than a day.  The crazy part is that she doesn't mind having him around.  Do opposites really attract ??

I love Cade. He is a hot guy with a golden heart.  He is super sweet and very patient with Max.  Max has to deal with some demons before she is free to love herself and Cade. I wish she would have dealt with those earlier on in the book but it all made sense in the end.
I definitely recommend this series.  The next one is already on my TBR.

Keeping Her (Losing It #1.5) by Cora Carmack

Keeping Her
Keeping Her is a novella. It happens months after the events in Losing It.  Bliss and Garrick are traveling to England to meet his parents. Poor Bliss is freaking out about it. We get both POV's.
Bliss still has some insecurities and Garrick sometimes thinks that he has to do what's best for them instead of what's best for them in the long term.
I enjoyed meeting his friends too.  Both of Garrick's friends are book-worthy.
This is a fast read. If you like Garrick as much as I do, you will enjoy this little treat Cora Carmack gives us.

Rome (Marked Men #3) by Jay Crownover - COVER REVEAL-Puzzle Completed

Finally the Cover Revealed. Isn't it beautiful?? Image Map

Genre: New Adult
Published Date: January 7th, 2014

Synposis

Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.
Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.
Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

Author Information

I'm supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I'm an natural redhead even though I haven't seen my real hair color in years, I'm a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I've been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I'm interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.

Near and Far (Lost and Found #2) by Nicole Williams

Near & Far
Second installment in the Lost and Found Series.

Rowen and Jesse are together but they are trying to keep a long distance relationship.  She is away at school and he is still at the ranch helping his family.  They try to visit each other but plans sometimes are broken.
Jesse is also dealing with some old demons.  Can they remain a couple?

The best part about this book besides Jessie is Garth Black.  He is still a darkish character but he was there to straighten them up.  He gave the best advise.  I'm super excited that the bad boy is getting his own books.  I also enjoy this book because there was no cheating.  Jesse and Rowen love and protect each other.
