This Adventure Ends by Emma Mills

Sloane isn't expecting to fall in with a group of friends when she moves from New York to Florida—especially not a group of friends so intense, so in love, so all-consuming. Yet that's exactly what happens.

Sloane becomes closest to Vera, a social-media star who lights up any room, and Gabe, Vera's twin brother and the most serious person Sloane's ever met. When a beloved painting by the twins' late mother goes missing, Sloane takes on the responsibility of tracking it down, a journey that takes her across state lines—and ever deeper into the twins' lives.

Filled with intense and important friendships, a wonderful warts-and-all family, shiveringly good romantic developments, and sharp, witty dialogue, this story is about finding the people you never knew you needed.

I read Emma's previous book, First & Then , and really enjoyed it! So, I was beyond excited to get my hands on this book!

I was completely blown away by this book. I was expecting to enjoy it, but I didn't expect to absolutely LOVE it as much as I did. I read this book in one sitting and I wanted to read it again right after I finished it. This Adventure Ends had everything I could have ever wanted in a contemporary. There were strong friendships, humor, family ties, romance, and so much more. It is safe to say that I am obsessed with this book and Emma Mills.

One of my favorite aspects of this book was the talk of being in a fandom. It was hilarious and so relatable to see certain characters join a fandom and become completely obsessed with it. I related to everything about it! I thought that was a great edition to the book, and Emma executed it perfectly.

The main character, Sloane, was great. I loved how snarky and loyal she was. She seemed a little closed off in the beginning, but I never thought she came off as rude. It was great to watch her develop and open up to all of the wonderful characters in this novel. There were so many layers to Sloane and every other character in this book. I thought Emma did a great job at slowly developing each and every character. I would read books about Sloane, her friends, and her family forever!

There were so many different friendships in this book that were so well written. Sloane and Vera's friendship was so positive and uplifting. They had a healthy and realistic friendship, and I loved that they were always there for each other. Each relationship Sloane had with all of the different characters was unique and adorable. I just loved seeing all of the characters interact.

The romance in this book was simply adorable. The romance wasn't a huge part of the book, but it was weaved throughout the book in a slow and believable manner. The development of Gabe and Sloane's relationship was awkward and so cute. Both characters didn't really know how to express their feelings or flirt, which made their relationship even better. The romantic moments between them made me feel absolutely giddy. I adore them together and I want more stories with Gabe and Sloane! They are one of my favorite book couples!

There was never a dull moment in this book. I truly enjoyed every word on every page. I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone!

5 / 5 Fangs
