Growing up in a big adoptive family, gorgeous small-town attorney Cam has always had a life rich with love. But the one thing he’s missing is the perfect woman to grow old and raise a family with—and send sparks flying on those cold Montana nights! Still, Cam knows if it wasn’t for his caring parents and brothers, he wouldn’t be where he is today, so he tries to pay it forward whenever he can. And if the client happens to be a modern-day damsel in distress, he’ll happily don a suit of shining armor. This time, his sister-in-law’s best friend Grace is in serious trouble, and Cam’s determined to get his smart, beautiful client off the hook. But as attorney-client privilege brings Cam and Grace closer than they ever imagined, the sexual tension heats up. It’s clear before the gavel comes down that the verdict is going to be red hot!

“True love never dies. It may dim, and it may drift to the far reaches of your mind if you allow it to, but all it takes is a spark, a scent, a memory, and in a flash, you’re back at the moment your heart fluttered for the first time.”

This is the third book in the series. It centers around Cam and Grace.

Camden Whitman is one of Martin's adopted sons. He's the lawyer in the family. He's ready to offer a helping hand to whoever needs it just like Martin did for them so many years ago.
Cam had a relationship with Grace when they were in high school. They loved each other but once he left for college, their relationship ended. Many years have passed and now Cam is ready to move forward with the one girl he let go.

"I'm here when you're ready, Grace."

Grace Sinclair doesn't trust anyone. Every time she thought she could count on somebody, they left her behind. It happened with her best friend, it happened with her boyfriend. She could never count on her parents and her mother betrayed her in more ways than one.  Grace, now tweenty-eight-year-old, is back in Montana, and the small town that feels closer to home than anywhere else. However, trouble is following her and getting the advice from a lawyer might be the smart thing to do except the so called lawyer is the only man she has ever loved and giving her heart is not something she is willing to do ever again.

“Because I learned a long time ago that to open myself up only hurts me. I learned that dreams are for fools, and the past is best left where it belongs.”
~~

You know, I wanted to get upset with Grace for pushing Cam away too many times, but in all truth, she had been hurt before and she was just protecting herself from more heartbreak. Yes, there were a couple of instances where I wanted to scream at her and tell her that she needed to accept the help so many people were willing to give her.

Cam was stubborn as well. He was not going to let Grace get away this time. He knew he messed up but he was ready to do anything to get her to be his. He was in for the long haul and he was not ashamed to make it crystal clear.

I do love the characters from the Unexpected Heroes series. They are like a real family. They teased each other endlessly but they would do anything to protect what and who they love.

Cliffhanger: No
