Welcome to Book One in the Blessings, Georgia series of Southern contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Sharon Sala. With the support of her handsome, unassuming friend Mike Dalton, LilyAnne Bronte is finally ready to put the past in the past.

It's never too late
Mike Dalton has secretly loved LilyAnn Bronte since they were all children together in the small town of Blessings, Georgia. But one fateful day T.J. Lachlan roars into town and starts showering LilyAnn with his charm, and Mike feels his dream of them being more than friends slipping away.

To find the love you missed
LilyAnn, as anyone in Blessings will tell you, let herself go after her fiancee was killed in Iraq. The attention of the handsome new guy shocks her into a revelation: she's ready to live again, and maybe the best is yet to come. The thing is, everybody in Blessings is sure it's Mike and LilyAnn who belong together-and they're willing to do whatever it takes to make LilyAnn realize the love of her life has been by her side all along.

"Good night, my love. May tomorrow be the day that when you open your eyes, you see me."

Is not a secret that I'll love I'll Stand By You. I jumped at the chance to read another book by Sharon Sala. I didn't read the blurb, had no idea it was the first book in the series until I started recognizing the characters of the small town of Blessings, Georgia.  From that moment forward I had a smile on my face.

LilyAnn Bronte felt like her world was over when her high school sweetheart Randy Joe was killed overseas. For eleven years she let herself go and she went through the motions without really living. The first time she felt something different was when she heard the pipes of a car bringing a new man to the town. For just a moment she felt like he might be enough reason to wake up from the monotony she was living.

Mike Dalton has loved LilyAnn since high school. They have been neighbors for too many years. He has been there for her and he was devastated when LilyAnn fell for someone else. After eleven years of loving her in silence, it seems history is repeating itself and LilyAnn might be falling for someone else. He might lose his chance unless he makes his feelings known.

I love the way Sharon Sala weaved this love story. Both characters are multidimensional. I knew exactly what they were feeling and the frustrations they were experiencing.

I like that LilyAnn was smart enough to know who was the right guy for her. She learned to like herself and to move forward and stop living in the past.

Mike was a great guy, he waited for LilyAnn to be ready to love again. He gave her space without abandoning her throughout the years she was mourning.

I also loved how the town is so special. They can run rumors like nobody's business but they also help anyone who needs helping. Hands down, my favorite secondary character was Ruby Dye.

I can't wait for another book in this series.

Cliffhanger: No
