I think Patricia Briggs has some magic powers because she constantly bewitches me. Her books are magical.

The plot of this book was extremely interesting, and I never felt like there was a dull moment. I loved trying to solve the mystery right alongside of Mercy and her gang. I also really liked the new characters that were introduced in this book. I thought they were great additions to the story, and they really added something special to the plot

Speaking of Mercy, I adore her. She is such a strong, kind, and funny person. I never get annoyed with her. I can always count on her to make the right decisions. There honestly should be more main characters like Mercy in books.

The romance between Mercy and Adam was as adorable as ever. What I love about the romance in these books is that it is never overwhelming. The little scenes that Adam and Mercy have are perfect. I feel like they are always aware of each other. Whether they casually hold hands or even just look at each other, you can tell that their connection is strong. Patricia does a fantastic job at making romantic moments between Adam and Mercy seem genuine. Every little moment between them makes me freak out because I am obsessed with their relationship. They are the definition of relationship goals, AND THEY ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER.

Overall, I thought this was a great addition to one of my all time favorite series. Patricia's book are always such a treat! I WANT THE NEXT BOOK!

I can't really explain how much I love the Mercyverse. I love everything about it. Mercy is one of my favorite heroines of all times. She is loyal, independent, has a huge heart for "strays" and she can fight!
And don't get me started on Adam.....Gosh, Adam, I have been in love with this man since the beginning. What made this book even better was a certain scene that I have been waiting for and it FINALLY happened.

Go Adam, Go Adam!!!! Nudge...

So what's the story about?

Aiden, a human who has been trapped in Underhill for centuries has escaped with Tad and Zee. But, Aiden, is not a human anymore. He has been fire touched. In exchanged for helping them, Aiden seeks shelter with Adam's pack. Of course, by accepting this, the Fae can begin a war against the werewolves. Some of the Gray Lords want Aiden back, some want to keep the peace. In the end, Mercy and Adam have to decide. You guessed right...Adam and Mercy would never send someone back to the Fae after asking for protection. Especially when this someone looks like a kid, even if he's not.

I was so excited to start this book. I love so many of the characters and I just couldn't wait to see where the story went. I was completely involved in the story from the first page. It was great reading about Joel, Adam, the pack, Bran, Baba Yaga, Honey, and Ben.

I can't forget to mention how much I liked the Walking Stick. Also, Joel had great scenes, same goes for Jesse. She has become an adult in the blink of an eye. She's learning to defend herself and voice her opinions. I was also pleased to see more of Zee and Tad and I'm glad they are back, hopefully, to stay. Aiden was a great addition to the story.
I was just thinking that Adam is in need of a new home just to be able to give shelter to all the people showing up in the last few books and now that Mercy has offered protection, I know there is a going to be even more people to come. I say: BRING IT ON, I want more books and I want more Ben!

Cliffhanger: No

When Mercy, Adam and the pack are called to a bridge to take care of a troll, they don’t realize they’ll be leaving with a child the fae took long ago. The child is now fire touched and contains fae power, and the fae want him back. But Mercy and the pack will stop at nothing to keep the boy safe.

**

Going back to the Mercy world is always so nice. I feel like I’m having a reunion with some friends that I haven’t seen in a while. When we left off with the last Mercy story Mercy just took in Joel with the pack, and I was so happy to see him in this story. I love that Patricia Brigg’s adds lovable characters throughout the books.

There was a scene in this book (I won’t say specifics because I don’t want to spoil anything) that I have been waiting for since the beginning of the series. I cried, and rejoiced, and reread it over and over. It was utterly perfect. The history with the pact and what we know, I loved the pacing of Patricia’s decision.

This series is honestly one of my all time favorites. I can’t wait until the next installment!
