Cloaked in Secrecy (The Wulfkin Legacy #2)
by T.F. Walsh

The Wulfkin Legacy saga continues with this gripping tale of love under extraordinary circumstances.

Death has followed Alena Novac’s circus family for years. When the police arrest her brother for a murder he didn’t commit, she has only a week to rescue him before he transforms into his wolf form in prison and exposes their wulfkin existence to the world.

Enre Ulf, a former member of the Varlac, the fearsome ruling wulfkin clan, plans to infiltrate Alena’s circus clan and take out their alpha to save his home in Transylvania. Except he never expected his wolf claiming Alena as his mate, or feeling compelled to save her brother to help protect the secrets of the wulfkin.

With the police closing in and the blood feud threatening them, Alena and Enre must overcome their pasts to save their packs’ futures.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! This book was actually a lot of fun!

I was expecting this book to have a bad case of insta-love. A lot of paranormal books that involved "mates" have insta-love. This book did not! There definitely was instant lust and an instant connection, but not instant love. I was so happy about that. Alena and Enre hated each other at first, and I eat up those types of story lines. They constantly bickered, and it was fabulous. They eventually fell in love, which was sweet to read about. It was a nice change from the typical "you are my mate so I am automatically in love with you" plot.

Also, their chemistry was off the charts! Phew!

I thought the author did a great job at keeping the storyline interesting. There were elements of mystery, action, romance, and family relationships. Some parts were a little slow, but the plot moved well as a whole.
I didn't read the first book in this series, and I think that made it a little harder for me to understand the paranormal aspect of this world. I had a difficult time remember what the different words meant. However, I was eventually able to get it all straight so I could sit back and enjoy the story.

Alena, the main character, was fantastic. I loved how Alena was fierce, yet kind. She was dedicated to her pack and her family. She wasn't going to let anyone hurt the people she loved. I really admired that about her character.

Overall, this was a fun and quick read. I wouldn't go and say this was my all time favorite book, but it definitely was entertaining.
