I picked up this book because of the beautiful cover and the interesting premise. For the first 60 pages or so, I was not too into this book. I really liked Tarver, but I really could not stand Lilac. I understood that she came from a high class home, and was taught that she was better than everyone else. However, she was just so rude and mean. When she dismissed Tarver, I was furious. I wanted to smack some sense into her.
After the ship crashed, I started to get addicted to the story. As the book went on, more was revealed about Lilac, and I started to understand why she was rude in the beginning. Lilac turned out to be a strong, loving, and loyal character. I ended up loving her character! So, do not be fooled by her annoying actions in the beginning like I was.
I loved Tarver. He was a great lead male character. He was extremely loyal and smart. I loved how he was always trying to make sure he did what ever he could to save Lilac, even when he hated her. The relationship between Lilac and Tarver started off as them hating each other. It grew into a beautiful and loving relationship. I absolutely loved them together.
I took off half a star on the rating for this book because of that it took me a bit to get into this book. I am so happy that I stuck with this book, because it really did pay off in the end! I cannot wait to read the sequel! I hope it is as good as this one!
