I have a serious love for MC Books since Charlie appeared on TV and Tack took my heart. I''m glad to say that this debut novel didn't disappoint me.
It has a sexy alpha, a strong female character, a great set of supporting characters, lots of action and sexy scenes.
The. Complete. Package.

Nix was easy to love. He didn't stray. He knew he wanted Kadence and when his feelings became stronger he didn't fight them.

Kadence was a good choice for him. She was smart, sweet and sassy.
"I am slightly concerned, however, that I’ve let this man push my buttons, kiss me senseless, speak to me dirty, demand a date and manhandle me all in the space of two nights."
Zayden "Z" was so adorable. I wanted nothing else but be there for him.

Only Sy could bring her back but Holly might never be ready for it.
I was very pleased with Affliction. I liked both characters from the moment they were introduced in Incandescent. Holly was vivacious and smart and Sy was the brooding alpha who doesn't want to fall but when he does, he falls hard. It hurt me when Holly lost her innate happiness and I was glad Sy was there for her, knew how to make her come back to life, to him.
Affliction had less action than Incandescent, it was a little darker but not less interesting. It's the story about how love and trusting the right person can heal you.
I seriously can't wait to read River's next book.

This novella takes place after the first two books. The main characters are Kadence and Nix. The story starts with Kadence sharing the news of her pregnancy with Nix. Then, the story jumps to after the delivery. Kadence is dealing with postpartum depression. She's trying to adjust to being a mother, dealing with the new changes in her body and with a baby having problems feeding.
I'm glad the author picked to write about an important topic. The story is short and by the end it gives you a sense of resolution. It also gives you an idea of what's to come in the next book.
