Aflame (Fall Away #4) by Penelope Douglas

Aflame

This is the last book in the Fall Away Series.
It goes back to the characters from Bully.

Two years have passed after Jared and Tate broke up. A new event brings Jared back home. To his surprise, Tate is here too. On the outside, it seems like Tate has moved on but Jared is not ready to let her go again.

"Everything else may change, but never the way I love you,"

I had a couple of problems with the story. First, I’m not sure I understood why Jared had to leave Tate behind to “find himself” in the first place. He could have taken her with him. Second, their fights were childish. Those were ok in Bully but as an adult, I felt like they were behaving like immature teenagers. I adore Tate in Bully, not so much in Aflame

For me, the best part of the book is the last couple of chapters. It made me happy to see how all the characters have evolved and their families are only getting bigger.

“You’re written all over my body,” he spoke low, just for us. “The tattoos can never be erased. You hold my heart, and you can never be replaced.”

Cliffhanger: No

3/5 Fangs
