For two people ambivalent about dating and love, they sure get naked around each other an awful lot . . .

London Hughes is very content to surf daily, tend bar, hang out with her group of friends, and slowly orient herself in the years after college. Everything’s going great and according to the non-plan.

But when a wave knocks her for a loop one morning, then Luke Sutter’s flirtatious smile knocks her for another that evening, she veers slightly off course…and into his path. Sure, he’s a total player, but the Why not—it’s only one night is a persistent voice in her ear.

For his part, Luke’s been on hookup autopilot for so long that he rarely ever pauses to consider what he’s doing. But after an amazing time with London, he realizes that he hasn’t been moving on from a devastating heartbreak so much as he’s been drifting to wherever—and whomever—the current takes him. With London he wants more.

Every relationship involves two people…plus their pasts. And as much as she enjoys her fling with Luke, when London learns about his past—more specifically, who’s in it—everything becomes the brand of complicated she strives to avoid. It’s up to Luke then to change some things in order to try and ensure he’s not something she’ll outright avoid as well.

It’s no secret that I love anything written by Christina Lauren. The stories are always fresh and emotional but with plenty of humor and hot scenes. WICKED SEXY LIAR was no different. I was completely invested in Luke and London’s story from the very first page.

London doesn’t trust men easily, and with a broken past it’s easy to understand why. While bartending at Fred’s she meets the attractive and charming Luke. She knows the kind of guy Luke is: phone always buzzing from women of his past, cocky because of that, and not the type of guy to settle down. So she decides he’s the type of guy she needs. No attachments or expectations. What she doesn’t realize is that Luke is Mia’s (her roommates best friend) ex, and he’s actually an amazing guy.

London and Luke had serious chemistry and I devoured every page of it. They truly balanced each other out, which is something I love about reading a book by Christina Lauren. The characters so perfectly compliment each other which allows for an extremely entertaining story.

"I think I finally figured it out: falling in love ins't about who makes you feel the best, but who could make you the most miserable if they leave."

I have nothing else to say but this book was one of my absolute favorites. I cannot recommend it enough.

Christina Lauren's stories never fail to have witty, smart, and endearing characters. I know when I sit down to read one of their stories that I'm going to fall head over heels for at least one of the characters and that's exactly what happened with Wicked Sexy Liar.

Luke doesn't do relationships, luckily neither does London. When they meet at Fred's, London's current place of employment they seem to hit it off. Luke is funny, playful, and wickedly sexy (you see what I did there). Basically not London's type whatsoever, but he doesn't have to be her type for it to be a great one night stand. The only problem is the world is a small place and it seems like she might be seeing more of Luke than she first anticipated. Luke has been so detached for so long that he doesn't know how to even process his feelings, but he's willing to try.

This is such an emotional, sexy, down to earth story. I absolutely loved every single character! Yes every single one! It's so rare to read a book and not be annoyed by one character or another, but I honestly didn't feel like that with this one. Luke and London are perfect, and so is every other character. Margot cracks me up! She is the perfect big sister. She teases her little brother, but is always there for him when he needs her too. I loved seeing Luke and London each try to find their way and try to come together. Both being hurt in different ways in their past but never really having dealt with it the right way. I loved seeing them discover themselves while discovering each other.

A delightfully sexy story!

"Falling in love isn't about who makes you feel the best, but who could make you the most miserable if they leave."

Holy smokes Batman! Wicked Sexy Liar was amazing!
It had all the things I have come to expect from Christina Lauren. The humor, the friendship and so much more. So, yes, this is my favorite in this series!

For those who don’t remember, Luke is Mia’s first everything. Luke was a devoted boyfriend until the accident. As we know now, Mia is super happy with Ansel. (Who wouldn’t,  right?).

Luke decided it was too hard to give his heart again and he has never had another meaningful relationship since Mia. Meeting London threw him for a loop. She was different and when she thought he was a player, it bothered him. More than he cared to admit. She makes him want to be different.

London doesn’t trust men. Her boyfriend cheated on her. This event changed her. She can do “no strings attached” type of affair but nothing more.  Luke represents everything she knows she has to stay away from. However, London has a problem dismissing him just like any other douchebag. She knows he is dangerous to her heart but avoiding him is not easy.

I do love both characters. London was still figuring out what she wanted from life. She had graduated but was still working as a bartender, surfing during the day and freelancing on the side. She was a hard worker, smart but she also had this vulnerability that she didn’t let people see. Falling for Luke was hard on her. She knew he could be trouble but she couldn’t stay away from him either.

I love Luke and his family. His relationship with his sister, mother and grandmother was super cute. I laughed every time his mother called him “Bubbles”. I love how tender Luke could be with London. He was funny, flirtatious and honest. I believe his character evolution was the best.

To Christina Lauren: Great job ladies!

Cliffhanger: No
