Reaper's Fall by Joanna Wylde

Title: Reaper's Fall
Series: Reapers MC #5
Author: Joanna Wylde
Release Day: November 10

He never meant to hurt her.

Levi “Painter” Brooks was nothing before he joined the Reapers motorcycle club. The day he patched in, they became his brothers and his life. All they asked in return was a strong arm and unconditional loyalty—a loyalty that’s tested when he’s caught and sentenced to prison for a crime committed on their behalf.

Melanie Tucker may have had a rough start, but along the way she’s learned to fight for her future. She’s escaped from hell and started a new life, yet every night she dreams of a biker whose touch she can’t forget. It all started out so innocently—just a series of letters to a lonely man in prison. Friendly. Harmless. Safe.

Now Painter Brooks is coming home… and Melanie’s about to learn that there’s no room for innocence in the Reapers MC.

Painter met Melanie one night and can’t get her out of his head.  Shortly after they meet Painter is sentenced to five years in prison.  Throughout his term he and Melanie write letters and Painter slowly falls for her.  He knows she’s too good of a girl for him, so when he gets out Painter does everything in his power to keep her away.

Melanie knows what she wants.  She knows the MC life isn’t for her and she will never truly understand it.  But she wants Painter, and she’s willing to look past his club life to be with him.  When news turns her world upside down will Painter be there to help her?

**

She’d been with other guys.  I knew this.  And I’d been with a shitload of other women. . . somehow this felt like the first time though.

REAPER'S FALL may be one of my favorite books in this series.  I absolutely loved how this story was set up.  We see Painter and Melanie 5 years in the future and then it goes back and explains their history.  Their romance was absolutely explosive and HOT!

Melanie was a spitfire and extremely independent.  She took what life gave her and ran with it.  She took care of what she had to without any questions.

One of the main things I enjoy about reading MC books is we get to interact and see all the previous characters.  The brothers are always so much fun when they get around each other. Watching them interact with their old ladies and their family is like a bonus epilogue.

Joanna Wylde is the master at writing MC novels. They are always fast paced with amazing alpha men. I can’t get enough of her words!

Joanna Wylde had cemented the foundation for Mel and Painter's story in Reaper's Stand. I have to say that Painter was not my favorite character after he failed to fight for Em. However, she totally redeemed him in my eyes.

Melanie Tucker is learning to survive. Her father was abusive and her mother walked out on her. She's Jessica's best friend and she loves London (Jessica's aunt) like she was her own mother. After she woke up from the hospital after the house explosion she developed a relationship with Painter just before he was sent to prison. While he's in prison, she starts sending him letters and when he's released, she wants nothing more than to continue what they started before he went in.

"I have fallen into a Painterinduced haze."

Levi "Painter" Brooks is part of the Reapers MC. He went to prison for his brothers. During his time in prison, the only thing that keeps him sane is Melanie. Once he's released, he realizes that bringing Melanie into his life might not be the best thing for her.

I liked Painter a lot in this book. He was honest with Melanie, as much as he could. He was straightforward about his intentions and he didn't hide his feelings. He was loyal to the club and to his brothers.

"I'd fallen in love with Melanie Tucker."

Melanie had a hard life and I admired that she put herself through school and was able to make something of herself. She had to be a responsible adult way earlier than she should have. I understand why she had second thoughts about the club life and her future. I could never be upset about that. After all, she was looking for forever.

Mel and Painter made a great couple. They had great chemistry. They were sexy together.

Joanna Wylde has created a great MC world full of fantastic characters. Her books give a true feeling of realism about how an outlaw club truly works.

I hope there are many books to come.

"She was mine. She’d always be mine."

Cliffhanger: No

This is my very first Joanna Wylde book and I've now become a fan! Not having read the prior books in the Reaper's Series I feel like I got enough of the story but am also now longing to read the read of the books!

I love the set up of Painter and Melanie's story! And having spent a lot of time in Idaho myself I love the area this is set in. Idaho is so perfect because they are so many bikers in that general area. Painter and Melanie couldn't be more different but that doesn't stop the relationship from building. Oh dear lord this couple goes through so much! I can't even wrap my head around what it would be like to find someone and for it to be basically ripped from you. They are both such faithful and loyal people and Melanie has to make her decision whether she can handle to MC once everything is said and done.

I love all of these characters! Not only were Painter and Melanie such faithful people but they are had those really faithful friends that I love to see in books. The ones who may not always agree with your decisions but are always there for you when you're in need.

I very much enjoyed this story and will definitely make time to go back and finish this series. Even though I feel like I didn't miss out on a lot because the story was so well executed.
