Sweet Peril begins with a new Anna. She is the party girl the Dukes want her to be. She hides her love for Patti and her friends from them. She doesn't want the whisperers to guess the truth. To keep them away, she will do whatever is necessary.
Anna's heart is still broken. She misses Kai with a passion. Every time she sees him, she wishes they could be together. Thankfully, her dad has a plan. She needs to be able to recruit some of the Nephilim to her side and flying to meet them in the company of Kopano takes her mind off of Kai.

This book didn't pull me as much as the first one. I found myself upset with the many times Anna gets pushed away by Kai (when we all know he has feelings for her). Luckily, the last third pays off and we see a new Kai, who's swoon worthy.
I did enjoy the secondary characters. Patti is still a sweetheart. Kopano was very nice but my heart was set on Kai. The twins were both great, I warmed up to Ginger and her personality.
