A Court of Thorns and Roses
by Sarah J. Maas

I dove into this book hoping for a great fantasy story. I wasn't disappointed.

As you know this is the retailing of Beauty and the Beast with a twist.
Feyre (sounds very Fae to me) is one of three daughters. She is the one who has kept her family fed for the last few years after her father looses it all after a bad investment. She is a hunter. She kills game to feed her family. Not that they appreciate it. Elain is more interested in sweet things and Nesta seems to be always bitter.
When Feyre kills a wolf, a Fae beast comes looking for her. He takes her away and forces her to live within his grounds. She meets Lucien. At first she hates them both, but after time passes, she learns to like them and later on she falls in love with Tamlin. Too bad evil is lurking and her days are numbered.

After reading it, I have my own theories and a few questions:

Does Feyre or her sisters have Fae blood?
Why doesn't Fayre and Tamlin have a mate bond?
Why is Nesta immune to glamour?
Why is ok to say "Thank You" to the Fae when it is supposed to be a no-no in all other Faerie lore?

And most importantly...

What did Rhysand feel/smell when he looked at Feyre after the events at the end of the book? I think .......

“I slung off my outer clothes onto the sagging dresser—frowning at the violets and roses I’d painted around the knobs of Elain’s drawer, the crackling flames I’d painted around Nesta’s, and the night sky—whorls of yellow stars standing in for white—around mine.  “

Foreshadowing anyone???

“I love you,’ he whispered, and kissed my brow. ‘Thorns and all.”

Cliffhanger: No

4/5 Fangs

I had such high expectations for this book because I love fairytale retellings, especially retellings of "Beauty and the Beast". Thankfully, this book was everything I was expecting at more. It had wonderful world building, (extremely steamy) romance, fantasy, action, humor, basically EVERYTHING. The characters were all wonderfully developed and lovable in their own special way. I do not regret buying this book with a single bone in my body. It is definitely one of my all time favorite books now.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS RIGHT NOW. I AM OBSESSED. I AM GOING TO GO BACK AND HIDE IN MY ROOM AND RE-READ THIS BEAUTIFUL BOOK. I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. I WANT TO MARRY TAMLIN. GO AND READ THIS. NOW. *throws book at you*
