Smoking, tattoos, and street racing for fast cash are Elijah’s only interests. A harsh life has made him apathetic and indifferent, until Alexandria enters his life. When their paths cross, turmoil abounds.

An inevitable encounter, an undeniable attraction, and an unexpected chance at love—will it be enough?

Review

I am so happy that I decided to read this book, because this was a great New Adult Romance. I loved that this book had more to it than just romance. This book makes you think about how life really is short, and you should never take that for granted. The plot of this book was enjoyable, and the dialogue was wonderfully written. I read this all in one sitting because I enjoyed it so much. This book had romance, humor, personal growth, life lessons, and more wrapped into one beautiful book.

"I don't need material things. Ever since I lost my family, that is all I ever wanted back, to have a home, a family. All I wanted was clarity in my life. Something that made sense, something that I could hold onto, someone I could love without a doubt and be my home. Alex, you are my clarity. You. Are. My. Home."

The main character, Alexandria, was a good girl who was recovering from the loss of her father. I liked how even though she lost her father, she kept living her life. She was such a strong character, and cared for everyone around her. I know that some people can find good girls to be annoying in books, but Alexandria is the opposite of that. She is kind and gentle, but she can stand up for herself and can be feisty when she needs to be. I really admired that about her character. I also loved Elijah. He was a protective bad boy with tattoos. Elijah was my weakness. I want my own Elijah; I loved him that much.

"My heart went into overdrive as my eyes outlined his muscular biceps, up to his shoulder, his dark stubbles, and then...bam! My eyes were deadlocked on his. Frozen in place, I was memorized. His piercing brown eyes sucked me in. I wanted to trace his thick brows with the tips of my fingers, down to the perfect base of his nose, around his high cheekbones, and across his smooth, kissable lips. I swallowed a nervous gulp, feeling little tremors rush through every part of me."

The way Elijah and Alexandria met was so comical; I actually laughed out loud. Elijah seemed like the complete opposite of Alexandria, but in reality, they had a lot in common. Their love story was beautifully written, and I loved watching them struggle to not fall in love with each other, but then finally giving into what they both clearly wanted. Elijah and Alexandria helped each other grow and cope with their pains. It was really sweet that Elijah was always very protective of Alexandria, even when they weren't a couple. This book was very romantic, but it also had a lot of scenes filled with hot chemistry.

"I crushed my lips to hers hard from all the sexual tension that had built up for so long. I slid my hands underneath that fine ass of hers and teasingly rocked on top of her, obviously giving her what she wanted. Alex moaned louder, putting me over the edge. I was desperately trying to control my urge. Everything about this felt so right yet so wrong."

This book was great read, and I recommend it to everyone. If you enjoy reading New Adult Romance novels, this book will not disappoint!
