By the Magic of Starlight (The Forbidden Realm #0.5) by Serena Gilley

By the Magic of Starlight

Review

After reading the first book in this series, "Kissed by the Wave", I knew I had to read this novella about my favorite couple, Raea and Kyne. I honestly wish this novella were a book, because I wanted more of Raea and Kyne. Their relationship seemed believable, which I really enjoyed. The bickering that went on between the two of them was quite humorous. They had really romantic moments, as well as moments filled with steamy passion.

"He was able to touch her with both hands now and the feel of his skin against hers had the usual effect. Passion flared into a flame inside her and she knew that they had to stop this now before the heat overwhelmed them both and they did things to regret."

Along with the romance, there was also an interesting storyline. I was hooked because I wanted to know what was going to happen to the relationship between Raea and Kyna. I really hope to see more of Raea and Kyne in the future.

" "I never wanted to need you, Raea"

"I know. Neither of us planned for this, but I don't regret it. Do you?

        "No. Never."

"Good. Then let's just admit the obvious: we are a team. We work together, we love together, and together we will figure this out." Her eyes were so bright, so full of devotion and assurance. How could he doubt her? She spoke the truth; they were a team now. For the first time in his life, he'd found one place he belonged, and that was with Raea."

One thing that bothered me a little bit was that I kept imaging the faeries being like Tinkerbell, and it was quite odd to image faeries like that making love. However, I would recommend this novella to anyone who is looking for a sweet, passionate, and romantic read about two faeries. I am not saying that this novella was the best thing I have ever read, but I enjoyed reading this novella. I am looking forward to the next book in this series, "Licked by the Flame". I think Serena Gilley has great potential as an author, and I am excited to continue with this series.
