Every Last Breath (The Dark Elements #3)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust.

Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction.

Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…

This is the conclusion of the Dark Elements series.

It's time for Layla to come to terms to what she is. She is not a full Warden but she's also not evil. Acceptance is key for her to move forward. It's also the time for her to decide which guy holds her heart. And, in between all this, she also has to save the world from Lilin. He is bent on destruction, killing and trying to free "dear mom" from hell.

I was extremely happy with the way this book went. My girl Layla picked my guy! I was 100% behind her decision.

I do feel like the story is not done. Too many loose ends. Danika's love life is one of them. She is a strong girl and I hope she has a future. Second, the guy who wasn't picked needs a HEA. Third, the familiars. I want more info on them. I think Bambi needs her own book too.

Cliffhanger: No

4/5 Fangs
