   Synopsis

   * This is a New Adult romance novel recommended for ages 18+ due to sexual content and mature subject matter.*

She didn’t know what she was missing…until he found her. Maxwell Knight was positively trouble, dangerously good-looking, and seductively charming. He was everything Jeanella didn’t need in her life. Only Maxwell didn’t see it that way. His pursuit was relentless, making her even more determined to push him away. Fresh out of college, life was simple and plain for Jeanella Mefferd. Every part of her life was smooth sailing; her friends, her job, and even the guy she’d started dating. Then one night, while at dinner, she spotted someone who made her feel things she’d never felt before—dangerous, heart pounding and breathless heat. Thinking she would never see him again, she brushed it off, but when she started to run into him unexpectedly, all she could think of was how he made her feel with his sweet flirtations. Everything about Maxwell Knight screamed trouble, especially when she found out he was her new boss’s son. Now, heading to a New York fashion show, would she be able to focus on her career instead of Maxwell, who had been scheduled to attend with her? As much as she tried to forget their encounters, his good looks, smooth words and determination to win her over gravitated her toward him. The next thing she knew, her mind was utterly consumed by him. Would she be willing to ignore all the dangerous signs and jump into his arms? Or would she miss out on the chance of finding something great?

Review

After reading the synopsis for this book, I was really excited to get my hands on this book. I am happy to say that I enjoyed this book as much as I was hoping I would! Jeanella was extremely likable, and Max was totally swoon worthy. The romance in this book made it a very fun read.

"You have this hold on me that's exciting and terrifying at the same time. But if I held onto my fears, then I would never have taken the leap, but I did. I wanted to dive right into your heart and stay there permanently. I fell of you the first time I looked into your eyes. That's all it took. Then I knew I'd found the one I've been waiting for all my life."

There was some drama involved, which added some excitement to the plot, but I was glad that it was not unnecessarily drawn out thorough out numerous chapters. Jeanella's friends were really funny, and I liked reading the scenes that transpired with them. I am really hoping to see the development of a romance between Jeanella's friend, Becky, and Max's brother, Matthew, in the next book. M. Clarke did a great drop of writing a book that balanced romance, friendship, humor, and drama. One thing I did not like about this book was that some of the dialogue was a little weak. Some of the things characters said and did seemed a little childish at times. Other than those few scenes, I did like this book a lot! I am really excited to read the next book, because I think the romance will be even better in the next book. This book was light and enjoyable read that I would recommend to everyone if you like hot, powerful men. Plus, the book is only $0.99, which is a great deal for a fun and hot read.
