Fearless (Ruin #2.5) by Rachel Van Dyken

Fearless
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

This novella is for the fans of Ruin. It's about Lamb and Wolf's well deserved happily ever after.

Wes and Kiersten have reason to celebrate. They are together and they are strong as a couple. Wes is going to propose something impulsive. It's a risk he is willing to take and the end result can be a new beginning.

The novella is short and sweet. As always Wes is an amazing guy. He is very romantic and Kiersten is a lucky gal.

Also, we get a little cameo of what's to come in Shame. Lisa's story.  It's already on my TBR.

“Moments with a girl like that? I knew they were one in a million and I was on a mission to capture them all. Each. And every. One.”

Toxic (Ruin #2) by Rachel Van Dyken

Toxic
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Gabe Hyde has been hiding from his past for a few years. Only a few know his heartache.  At some point he was in love and he was famous. Now, he doesn't think he deserves anything and sleeping with a different girl every night is not helping. He decided to change after Wes got sick, which his friends are calling a "dry spell". Gabe has a lot of anger that he needs to unleash from time to time and a few of them targeted Saylor.

Saylor is only interested in her grades and getting through college with a good GPA but since the moment she meets "Sexy Stranger" and his friends, her perspective has been tampered with.

"I needed to stay the heck away from Gabe—he’d be toxic."

Gabe can be irritating and most of the time she wants to be upset at him but she is sure he needs help. The more time they spend together the more difficult it's to stay away.

“If beauty is pain—let me get lost in it. If you’re my salvation—I want to earn it. If love is all I have to give—then let me give it. You. It’s all for you.”

I was hoping that Rachel would write about Gabe after reading Ruin. Wes was amazing but I kept thinking how nice and loyal Gabe was. It took me by surprise that he was a darker character than he was in Ruin.
A couple of times he made me mad by pushing Saylor away but the story works and I'm extremely happy with where it went.
Saylor was very patient and supportive with Gabe's situation.  I liked that her mom was very supportive too.

"You're the final piece to the puzzle, the star on the top of the Christmas tree."

I have to mention how important Wes was to the story. He was always there to help Gabe.

"We always need Wes. He's like a superhero."

He was an awesome friend and I think he's truly perfect.

“I’m falling.” I shrugged. “Not fallen, as in I’ve already landed, but falling, in the process. I’m falling with you, not jumping after you. Don’t you think it’s about time you let someone share the load?”

"I'm falling for you too. I haven't fallen. Falling. As in still falling, still in the air, still trying to get used to the idea that I've just nose dived off a cliff with every intention on making sure landing doesn't break my fall."

Ruin by Rachel Van Dyken

Ruin
Kiersten Rowe is starting college. She lost her parents and she has been dealing with depression. For her, this is a major step.  Luckily she meets a great roommate and her cousin Gabe. But when she meets her new RA, she is shocked to her core. Wes Michael is not only the quarterback but also super smart, smoking hot and her new RA. Wes immediately likes Kiersten, but he doesn't want to get attached. He has a secret and wants to avoid falling for her.  Now, if only we could always get what we wished for.

Let's start by saying how beautiful the cover is.  Look at Wes - he's gorgeous.

Now, let me tell you what I liked about the book:

-This is a story of love and hope. It gives you a desire to live life to the fullest.
-Love the way they meet and the "eight pack".
-I love his nickname for her and for himself (Lamb/Wolf).
-I thought Angela's character was inspiring.
-Love the to-do list
-Her uncle - best uncle ever.
-Gabe was awesome- we just need his book next. ( A girl can only hope).
