Wounded, desperate—and disarmingly hot—Renny brings out the snarling, protective alpha beast in Mick like no other woman he’s known. Can these two haunted, hunted wolves manage to mate for life…even as the deadliest past demons howl at their heels?

Baby, I'm Howling for You is the perfect book if you are in the mood for a guilty pleasure paranormal romance. This book was a book filled with protective alpha males, steamy sex scenes, and intense action.

One of the things I really enjoyed about this book was the characters. I really liked the wide cast of characters and how developed they were. The author clearly really cares for all of the characters, and that love was showcased throughout the story. I cannot wait to read more about this eclectic group of people. I also really enjoyed the plot of this story! I thought the author did a great job at keeping the story interesting. There was always a new danger right around the corner. The intense action moments always had me on the edge of my seat!

The romance between Renny and Mick was extremely sexy and passionate. The author did a great job developing intense chemistry between the two characters. The chemistry between Renny and Mick was palpable! I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop, even if it was a little fast paced and had insta-love vibes. I would have liked to see it develop even more, but I am hoping that I will get more development throughout the rest of the series! I think Renny and Mick are a wonderful couple and I cannot wait to see what happens next for them!

The main issue I had with this book was that it seemed like it was a little dense. I felt the book was a bit too descriptive which made this book have a heavy feel to it at times. There were moments when I lost interest due to that. However, I did think the book was fast-paced and addictive as a whole.

Overall, this was a fun and addictive paranormal romance! If you are looking for sexy shifter romance, then this is the book for you!

Superhero Syndrome by Caryn Larrinaga

Today we have the cover reveal for Superhero Syndrome by Caryn Larrinaga! Check it out and be sure to grab your copy when it comes out September 12th!

Title: Superhero Syndrome

Author: Caryn Larrinaga
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Release Date: September 12th

Tess McBray was dying. The Solstice Syndrome had no cure, and she resigned herself to an early grave. But just when she gave up on survival, all her symptoms mysteriously disappeared.   All but one symptom, anyway. Something is wrong with Tess’s hands. They absorb any material they touch, and her skin turns to wood, or steel, or concrete. It doesn’t take this comic-book obsessed 21-year-old long to figure out what’s going on: somehow, she’s developed super powers.

And she’s not the only one; across the country, people are coming forward and sharing their gifts with the world. In her own city, where the police are battling a human trafficking operation, a masked vigilante called The Fox is saving lives and stopping criminals.

Tess doesn’t know where she fits into this new, super-powered world. But when people around her start disappearing, she can’t just sit on the sidelines. Teaming up with The Fox might be the only way to rid her city of evil and save the people she loves most.

I wish I’d been with the people I loved on the day the world changed. Then again, if someone had said, “Hey Tess, reality as you know it is about to be turned upside-down. You should probably witness this moment with someone you care about. Anybody fit that bill?” I would’ve barked out a bitter laugh and told them I’d rather be alone. Which, as it turns out, I was.

The meteor shower was all over the news. CNN covered it nonstop in the hours before it was visible, bringing on astronomers and astrophysicists to explain why it was such a big deal for a meteor shower of this size to be happening in the middle of January. Apparently, our scientists were supposed to be able to predict this kind of thing. The fact that one had snuck up on our collective set of observatories and satellites was—to quote one NASA representative—“extraordinary.”

I didn’t care if it was unprecedented. I didn’t care if people around the world were calling it a sign or a portent of the Second Coming or whatever. I just knew it was beautiful, and I wanted to see one more beautiful thing before I died.

The trick was explaining that to the floor nurse.

“Miss McBray, please go back to your room.” Nurse Davies crossed her beefy arms over her chest and planted her white-sneakered feet to the floor. “We’ve been over this before. You’re in no condition to leave.”

“How do you know?” I growled. “Nobody here can even tell me what my condition is.”

I shifted the weight of my duffle bag on my shoulder and leaned to the left, craning my neck to gauge the distance between Davies and the elevators. Only a few dozen yards. Sure, she towered over me. Sure, in the month I’d been in the hospital my body had wasted away to little more than a skin-wrapped skeleton. But I might be able to make a run for it.

Davies shook her head. “Do you think you’re going to find the answers out there?”

“Maybe. I don’t really care.”

She glared at me, and I knew exactly what she was thinking. It was the same thing she’d spat at me every time I’d fought against the IV, or questioned the contents of the murky soup they forced me to eat, or requested—and then repeatedly demanded—to have my comic book collection brought into the hospital. And just when I began to worry she’d disappoint me by refusing to lean on her catchphrase, she said it.

“Stop being so melodramatic.”

Caryn Larrinaga is a Basque-American mystery, horror, and urban fantasy writer living in Utah with her husband and cats. Her debut novel Donn’s Hill (March 2017, Immortal Works Press) garnered rave reviews from fans of the cozy mystery and paranormal genres, and her new urban fantasy Superhero Syndrome (September 2017, Twisted Tree Press) will be out this fall. Watching scary movies through split fingers terrified Caryn as a child, and those nightmares inspire her to write now. She lives in a 90-year-old house with a colorful history, and the creaking walls and narrow hallways send her running (never walking) up the stairs from her basement.

Exploring her fears through writing makes Caryn feel a little less foolish for wanting a buddy to accompany her into the tool shed. Going into this book, I had not read any of the previous books in this series. I know that sounds crazy, but I have loved other books by Gena and the synopsis of this book really intrigued me. After finishing this book, I definitely would say that I should have read the other books in this series first. I was able to follow most of the stuff that happened in this book, but I would have had a better understanding of it if I read the previous books. I think I would have been able to enjoy the book more if I had the connection with the other couples and characters that were in the previous books. This book can be read as a standalone, but I think people are better off reading the previous books first.

Baden was a typical alpha male. He was protective, strong, sexy and very "he-man" like. There were times that I thought he was very sexy and interesting, but there were also times where I found him to be overbearing. I found his internal struggle interesting, and I enjoyed seeing that throughout the book. The main female character, Katarina, was fine. I appreciated her dedication and love for her dogs, but that became a bit much as the book went on. Katarina was hard to connection to because she felt emotionally detached and even patronizing at times. I admired her strength but I still had a hard time relating to her.

Baden and Katarina definitely had a lot of chemistry. The sexy scenes were very steamy and well written. I do wish their relationship would have been developed more. I just felt like they went from hate to love way too quickly, which made it hard to believe their romance at times. That being said, I could tell that they made a good couple. Their personalities worked well together and they made a strong pair.

The plot of this book was interesting, even though it was hard to follow at times. However, that was my fault because I did not read the previous books. Gena did a good job at explaining the world and the powers of the characters without bogging the book down with information. That helped me out a lot, and I think it was enough to remind lovers of this series of what happened previously without boring them with re-hashed information.

Overall, this was a sexy and intriguing book. I am definitely going to go back and read the previous books in this series because I am dying to know how some of the side couples got together. I am also looking forward to seeing what Gena does with this world and characters in the next book!

Katarina wasn’t afraid of Baden. Not anymore.

He took a step to the side, intending to move around her. Oh, no. She flattened her hands on his shoulders, keeping him in place.

“I want to know what’s wrong with you.” She said. “Tell me.”

He snapped his teeth at her in a show of dominance. “You think you want to know my problem. You’re wrong.”

Her tone dry, she said, “I’m so glad you know my mind better than I do.”

“Very well. I need sex.” He threw the words at her as if they were weapons. “Badly.”

Whoa. Blindside!

Heart pounding, she jerked her hands away from him. “Sex...from me?”

“Yesss.” A hiss. “Only from you.”

Only. Amazing how one little word could send pleasure soaring through her, warming her. “You told me never to touch you.” Which she’d just done, she realized. My bad.

“I’ve changed my mind.” His gaze dropped, lingered on her lips.

Burning her... “But you and I...we’re a different species.” As if that mattered to her body. Gimme!

He took a step closer, invading her personal space. “We’ll fit, I promise you.”

Tristo hrmenych! The raspy quality of his voice, all smoke and gravel...she shivered with longing. Must resist his allure.

But...but...why? Before she’d committed to Peter, she’d dated around, had made out in movie theaters, cars and on couches. She’d liked kissing and touching and “riding the belt buckle,” as her friends had called it. Then, after committing to Peter, she’d gifted him with her virginity. At first, he hadn’t known what to do with her—he’d been just as inexperienced—and she’d left each encounter disappointed. When finally she’d gathered the courage to tell him what she wanted, he’d satisfied her well.

She missed sex. But connection...intimacy...she thought she missed those more.

The dogs barked, jolting her from her thoughts. They’d cleaned their food bowls, and now wanted to play. She clasped Baden’s hand to lead him out of the kennel. He jerked away, severing contact.

One action. Tons of hurt.

“I’m allowed to touch you and you want to have sex with me, but you’re still disgusted by me.” She stomped outside the kennel, done with him. “Well, I’m leaving. Good riddance! Your do-what-I-say-or-else attitude was annoying, anyway.”

He darted in front of her, stopping her. Breath caught in her throat as sunlight streamed over him, paying his chiseled features absolute tribute, making his bronzed skin glimmer.

So beautiful. Too beautiful.

“I’m not disgusted by you. You need me. I’ve come to accept it,” he admitted, looking away from her. “But being skin-to-skin with another is painful for me. We’ll have to proceed carefully. And you’ll get over your annoyance.”

Another order! She would show him the error of his ways.
