Soulless by T.M. Frazier

Bear & Thia’s epic is FINALLY HERE!

I was mad at the world, at the whiskey for not being strong enough, at the drugs for not lasting long enough, at the fucking whores I banged for not getting me off when it was my fault my dick was fucking useless after a bucket of fucking blow. I went so far as to be pissed at random people on the street for laughing or smiling when I felt like I’d never be able to smile or laugh again.
How dare they?
How fucking dare they be move on with their lives like my friend hadn’t just died.
I was on the verge of losing what little sanity I had left when I rode out of Logan's Beach and set off to find a place, or places, where I could numb myself against the feelings that followed me from town to town, cheap motel to cheap motel, girl to girl, high to fucking high.
Then, this pink haired girl from the past came barreling into my life and it was like for the first time, I’d found a purpose. A real genuine purpose and not just some shit Chop spewed out as orders that I and every other member of the Beach Bastards took as bible, but a true reason to live again.
To WANT to live again.
Someone to live for.
Ti was my chance at some sort of real happiness when Lord fucking knows I had no idea what that really was before her. The only glimpses of real genuine happiness I'd ever had came courtesy of Preppy, King, and of course Grace. Like when King tattooed us for the first time and we loved them, even though they were crooked and downright fucking awful. Like when Grace made me my very first birthday cake. Like the time King Prep and I sat at the top of the water tower and thought the world was ours to take.
Because at that time, it was.
Then there was Ti and my new happiness became the first time I saw her smile. The first time I kissed her. The first time I tasted her pussy by the fire. The first time she let me inside of her, shamelessly pushing through her virginity in a frantic need to make her mine.
Because that's what she was.
That's what she would always be.
And I will kill every motherfucker who dares to try and take her from me.
Mine.

Let me just start off by saying that I have been waiting for Soulless since, oh...about 1 second after I finished Lawless! T.M. Frazier is the queen of making me want to groan in utter agony while also making me want to clap with glee.

Thia is at a standstill being patient just like Bear asked her to, while Bear is trying to work himself out of his current predicament. Bear has a plan that he's putting into motion, but never did he expect the things that would come out of the woodwork that he thought have been long since buried.

I absolutely love Bear and Thia! She's feisty and doesn't want Bear telling her what do to, she wants to be his partner in all things and she lets him know it. Bear is still coming to terms with the fact that he is absolutely head over heels for this girl (of course he wouldn't put it exactly like that), while at the same time trying to keep her safe. So much is happening and it finally comes to a head in the end, but not without the standard T.M. Frazier shocker!

This is such a well written book and a well written series all together. Like I've said before and I will say again, T.M. Frazier is the queen of dark and gritty, Her characters are raw and real! The perfect characters for me, as a matter of fact.

Lucky's Choice (The Last Riders #7)
by Jamie Begley

LUCKY'S CHOICE
The Last Riders #7
Jamie Begley
Releasing July 29th, 2015
Young Ink Press

Life dealt him a dead man’s hand.

Lucky has always led a life of service, always putting his life on the line for someone else, managing to survive by pure luck and skill. After bringing an end to a multi-state drug ring, he was finally able to live the life he had wanted as a Last Rider.

A good man would walk away and not touch the curvy woman who has been tugging on his heartstrings. Lucky wasn’t a good man. Therefore, the bad-ass biker in him had a choice: once again become the man he had pretended to be and stake his claim or take the devil’s highway.

Some girls have all the luck.

Willa wasn’t one of them. All she wanted to do was give a home to the children she had made orphans. Instead, she found herself needing help from the man who had left the pulpit behind to embrace a life of sin.

Painfully shy and withdrawn, she wanted a quiet life, a simple man, and well-behaved children. The last thing she had ever expected was for Lucky to want her size twenty body and show her a passion that would lead her straight to hell.

BUY NOW

I have been reading this series since it's beginning. I have wanted Lucky and Willa's HEA for a while now. I couldn't contain my excitement when I got the ARC. Yay, me!!!

Lucky is enjoying his freedom as a Last Rider brother but he truly is not happy. He misses preaching as a pastor and also, he doesn't want to admit he's attracted to Willa. He's rude to her and he tries to discouraged her advances. Only when some of his other "brothers" start snooping around her is when he decides he needs to put a stop to it. And when Willa needs someone to help her, Lucky doesn't hesitate to step up the plate.

Willa killed a man and now she is raising his kids. At first she does it out of guilt but soon she starts caring for the kids. She loves to bake and making money from it is just the icing on the cake. She has a problem with her body. She knows she is not thin and she doesn't think a man like Lucky could be attracted to her. Avoiding him is her best way of dealing with her feelings. Nonetheless, when he offers his help she is unable to refuse him.

~~

I enjoyed Jamie Begley's world so much that I found myself reluctant to read her books too fast. I savored every detail and laughed at her funny scenes throughout her books. There are plenty of instances during this story too.  For example, Willa's comments under her breath had me laughing every single time. I like that she has developed a back bone and my favorite scene hands down is when Willa losses it in the kitchen. I laughed how the big dangerous man all cowered when she let them have it.

I have liked Lucky since Razer's Ride. He can be thoughtful. He has honor and he is loyal. Once he was not afraid to reveal his feelings for Willa, he was the Lucky I wanted to read about. He also had to deal with the love for the MC and the love for preaching. In the end, I think everything worked out the way it should.

In regards to the secondary characters:
Shade was great in making Lucky loose his patience. Nothing escapes him and he's can manipulate the rest - usually with the best intentions. I laughed when Lilly finally met a cowboy. Run cowboy run!.
Killyama and Train need to have their book now. Her broom scene made me laugh so hard.
I'm happy Rachel has her gift back. She is one of my favorite characters.
I don't like Bliss but I kind of want to know more about her book now (don't lynch me). I like her HEA.
King was helpful in making Lucky get jealous. His explanation to his lack of housework was awesome.
Sex Piston and the bitches cameos were all great.

"I was born in a small town in Kentucky. My family began poor, but worked their way to owning a restaurant. My mother was one of the best cooks I have ever known, and she instilled in all her children the value of hard work, and education.
Taking after my mother, I've always love to cook, and became pretty good if I do say so myself. I love to experiment and my unfortunate family has suffered through many. They now have learned to steer clear of those dishes. I absolutely love the holidays and my family puts up with my zany decorations.
For now, my days are spent writing, writing, and writing. I have two children who both graduated this year from college. My daughter does my book covers, and my son just tries not to blush when someone asks him about my books.
Currently I am writing five series of books- The Last Riders, The VIP Room, Predators MC, Biker Bitches, and The Dark Souls.
All my books are written for one purpose- the enjoyment others find in them, and the expectations of my fans that inspire me to give it my best.”

For Lizzy Rollins, what happens in Vegas will grow up to call her mom. The night of her sister's wedding is a night to remember. Not only did her sister marry the man she loves, Lizzy also has the best night of her life with the famous sexy bass player of the band Stage Dive. Months later, she realizes she's pregnant and "Bean" won't stay a secret for too long.

Ben Nicholson's life is easy. He doesn't want or need complications. He likes to be unattached.
The first time he met Lizzy he wanted to know her but once he realized she was Anna's little sister, he knew he couldn't go there. He tried to avoid her. What started as texting soon became complicated.
Ben is not prepared to be a father but he also knows he wants to be part of the child's life.

Deep is another great book by Kylie Scott. I love Lizzy. She was straightforward with her feelings. She didn't play games or try to hurt Ben. She was very patient with him adjusting to the news. She was funny, sweet but could stand up for her and for Bean when she needed to. She was there to defend Ben despite him being a mountain of a man.
Ben is a great guy. Trying to do the right thing. He was confused and scared. He makes multiple mistakes but I don't think any of them were on purpose.
I love that the crowd was all there in this book. Mal still can make me laugh. Jimmy and Lena are awesome together. Ev and David are strong as a couple.
I wonder if Kylie is writing Vaughn's story. I think a guy like him needs his own story.

“C’mon. How have you been, really? What’s been going on with you?” he pushed. I frowned at him and he frowned right back. “Liz, please.”
I groaned in defeat. “All right, I suck.”
“Why do you suck?”
“So very many reasons.” I pushed my hair back from my face—no more hiding. “Pregnancy sucks. It’s natural, my ass. I finally stop throwing up, but I’m tired all the time. Giving up coffee was horrendous. None of my clothes fit right because of these stupid breasts, and they ache constantly. I have to pee like every thirty seconds, and then to top it off, I cry every time the Healthy Hound ad comes on. It’s ridiculous”
Little wrinkles appeared either side of his nose. “You cry at a dog food ad?”
“Yes. The puppies jump all over each other to get to their mother and it’s just so beautiful, with their cute little tails wagging and everything.”
He just stared at me.
“I know its psycho, Ben. Believe me, I’m well aware of this.”
“Hey, it’s fine.” He covered a smile with his hand. Too late, the bastard.
“You try dealing with all these hormones going apeshit. Crap. Apeshoot.”
“Apeshoot?”
“I’m trying not to swear,” I explained. “You want the first word our child comes out with to be something bad?”
“No. Gotcha.” The man was incredibly bad at hiding a grin. “No swearing.”

At Boomerang, one night can change everything…

Noelle August has taken the New Adult genre by storm, and readers can’t wait to see what chaos, confusion, and connections arise at the Boomerang offices next.

Adam Blackwood has it all. At twenty-two, he’s fabulously wealthy, Ryan Gosling-hot and at the top of his game in the business world. That means spearheading her father’s plan to sink big money into Adam’s company and launch it into the stratosphere—provided Adam has no skeletons in his closet.

When the two meet, their sizzling chemistry makes it tough to keep things strictly professional. But when Alison discovers Adam’s secret, she knows she should bring it right to her father, who’ll leverage it for his own gain and use it to ruin Adam. The only problem: she’s falling for Adam—hard.

BOUNCE, the last installment in the BOOMERANG series, will be on sale in August 2015!

Review
Allison Quick is trying to prove to her powerful and rich father that she can be great at her job. To get his approval, she must learn everything she can from Adam Blackwood.
Adam Blackwood is the CEO of Boomerang and he's trying to expand his business to movie producing. He keeps his relationship with employees very professional but when he meets Allison, she creates havoc in his life. He wants her but he needs to keep some secrets safe from everyone, especially Allyson's dad.

Rebound was a sweet story. I liked Adam a lot. I felt bad for all the guilt he had. He deserves happiness.
I like the connection the main characters established from the moment they met.
I didn't read Boomerang so I didn't have any of the prejudices against Allison like most readers have. To me she was not conceited or ungrateful. She had a terrible family dynamic and Adam seemed to make her happy. And who doesn't deserve some of that?

Adam POV
Ali laughs. Her gaze feels like sunshine on my back, but I don’t turn around. I pull my wetsuit up to my waist, adjusting myself so I’m comfortable. The cool Neoprene layer feels familiar and my body responds, my heart thumping hard, anticipation rushing through my veins. The prospect of the ocean always does this to me. This has nothing to do with the girl behind me.
“Adam?”
Ali’s voice is close. Turning, I almost bump into her.
Her wetsuit is all the way on, which is good. And terrible.
“What’s up?” I ask.
She smells like suntan oil and peaches. This close, I see that her cheeks are turning slightly pink from the sun. With her hair pulled back, no makeup, and the wetsuit covering her completely, she looks better than she has all week at the office. Better than she did in the Catwoman costume. There’s something powerful about her now. The way her slender legs are planted firmly on the swaying boat, like she’s not trying at all. She’s at home on the water. This from an admitted equestrian. I can only imagine what she’s like with her horses.
“Sorry, but . . .” She smiles and points at her back. “My zipper’s jammed.” She turns around and pulls her ponytail up. “Can you help me out?”
“Sure. You want this on, right? Just want to be sure.”
I can’t see her face, but I know she’s smiling. “Yes. On please.”
I allow myself a moment to enjoy the way she looks right in front of me. Then I take the zipper leash, letting my knuckles drift over her back, just above the knot of her bikini.
If I weren’t completely focused on her, I’d have missed the way she curls slightly toward me.
Focus, Blackwood. Zip the wetsuit up.

MrsLeif's Review
Jaxon Trent hasn't had a normal upbringing. We know from prior books what a mean and dangerous man his dad is. He was lucky to survive in the environment which surrounded him. Now, he's older, more mature and a wizard with a computer. He works for Fallon's dad doing things not so legal. The money is good and has improved his life, home and his cars. The one thing missing is K.C. Carter, the girl who wouldn't give him the time of day back in high school.

KC is back in town doing community service at her old high school as a tutor. She made mistakes and now she's paying for them. Her mother refuses to help her, but luckily Tate is there for her.
KC can't believe it when she realizes she is living next to Jax, the kid that always made her feel things she didn't want to feel. The kid is now gone and the only thing left is a man. A very desirable man. Avoiding him is going to be tougher that she thinks.

I love Penelope's Fall Away series and I was so happy I was able to get my hands on Jax early.
Jax and KC had to overcome some very awful situations growing up. To me KC was too forgiving to her mother. Jax's dad on the other hand is unforgivable.  My heart was hurting while reading about Jax's childhood, despite having some knowledge of his ordeal from prior books.

Falling Away shows you how two very damaged individuals can complement each other and love can conquer all. Jax never forgot KC and when the time came to show her, he certainly did.
KC was a surprise to me. She was not my favorite character in prior books but she won me over. I was rooting for them to make it and when she gave herself to him, she was all in.

"Only. Ever. You. Jaxon Trent."

Now I'm impatiently waiting on Tate's novella.

4/5 Fangs

“You’ve got some ego,” I bit out. “I mean, yeah, all of a sudden you have money. Where you get it from is too scary to even think about,” I spouted off when I really should just shut up. “And you seem to have the town’s police in the palm of your hand. You’re clearly running the Loop now. Congratulations, Jax.” I smiled a big-ass, fake grin. “You’re the most powerful man in Shelburne Falls, Illinois!”

I planted my hands on my hips, pretty damn pleased at how good I’d gotten at putting men in their place.

But then my smile dropped and my eyes rounded. Jax’s eyes—full of challenge and amusement—narrowed on me, and he tossed his towel down, heading right for me.

Shit. I knew I should’ve listened to my mother. I talked too much.

He nodded, a grin playing at the corner of his mouth. “There she is.”

I inched back to the wall as he advanced into my space. “What are you talking about?”

“The snarky girl I met at Madoc’s house years ago.”

Yeah, the one that was slightly drunk and hella confident? My head bobbed off the wall, signaling I was at a damn dead end, and a trickle of sweat skidded down my neck. I saw Jax’s eyes flash to it, and all of a sudden I was too dumb to even remember my own name.

God, he was big. My chest vibrated with the heat of him only an inch away. He hovered over me, engulfing and consuming the space around me, making me feel as if I stood in the shadow of a tree.

Staring straight ahead, I made a conscious effort to keep my face straight. But it was almost impossible, and it was pointless. Out of all the reasons I could come up with for hating Jax—he always challenged and pushed me, and he always did whatever the hell he wanted—I could never claim that he wasn’t smart. He knew I was affected. He knew my body liked him close.

“I love it when you get mouthy,” he whispered down on me. “It makes me want to shut you up.”

Son of a bitch. I clenched my thighs together, feeling the moisture there.

I needed to get out of here. “I have to go.” I pushed off the wall but hit his chest, closing me in again.

“How do you like your community service?” he said low, trapping me by planting his hands on the wall on each side of my head.

Huh?

His smell was raw heat. Summer. Sticky cotton candy on a Ferris wheel and cool water on hot skin.

“What?” He’d asked me a question. What the fuck did he just ask?

He leaned on his hands, dipping his head close to mine. “Community service, K.C. How do you like it?”

I could hear the laughter in his voice.

“I don’t,” I mumbled. “Teaching a bunch of kids who slacked off during the school year, because they didn’t get the attitude adjustment they needed, isn’t my idea of a good time.”
His arms lowered a bit, and I could hear him inhaling through his nose, as if he was smelling me.

“Your idea of a good time got you here in the first place.” His voice was calm but firm. “And those kids don’t need an attitude adjustment. You do.”

I smirked. “Well, I’m getting one. Thanks to the great state of Arizona.” Then I pinned him with hard eyes. “You don’t know me, Jax.” And I pushed him away and turned for the door.

But he hooked my arm, pulling me back.

“You’re right,” he said quickly. “I don’t know you. So why don’t you enlighten me? What does
K.C. stand for? What did you do at college that got you arrested?”

When I just stood there, not answering his stupid questions, he backed me into the wall again. “Let’s try something easier, shall we? Your favorite color. What is it?”

“Are you serious?”

“Are you stalling?”

I scowled. “Pink. It’s pink.”

“Is it?” he pressed. “How about music? Who’s your favorite band? What about books? Your favorite genre? When was the last time you ate chocolate or stayed in your pajamas past eleven in the morning?”

I didn’t know if the walls were closing in orif it was just Jax crowding me. “What are you getting at, you little shit?” I accused.

And he got in my face, smiling at the challenge of my condescending name-calling. “How about a shower, K.C.?” The sound of his deep, husky voice swirled in my stomach and shot downward.

I gulped, licking my sandpaper lips. “Huh?”

He stared at my mouth, looking hungry. “The little shit—who’s not so little anymore—needs a shower,” he whispered, still staring at my mouth. “Take a shower with me. Right now.”
