Release Day Launch
Riding it Out (The Storm)
by Jennifer Foor

Synopsis

One woman
One man
An empty bed and breakfast
A summer storm
One night they'll never forget - so they thought...

When my aunt passed away and left me her dilapidated bed and breakfast it was all so surreal. I hadn't been back to that beach in many years, and the idea of revisiting left me sad and vulnerable.
I never planned on having guests. In fact, I just wanted to close up the place and sell it, so that I could move on with my life.
Then the storm happened.
Taken by surprise, I planned on waiting for it to pass. The house creaked and the power went out. That's when someone knocked on the door.
He was a stranger, dripping wet, cold, and looking for shelter. I couldn't turn him away...
What happened next between us opened new doors, changing everything I thought I wanted for myself.

The only question is if I can trust him, or will his secrets destroy it all?

The Storm by Laura Lexington

The Storm

This one was a very different book.
Our heroine Jana Cook is dealing with a new promotion in the Covington company. From the beginning, her new boss and co-worker make it clear that they are not happy having her as an addition to the team. Things only get worse when she discovers she is pregnant. Her job is in jeopardy and no one at work seems to be listening. Luckily, Jana has the complete support of her husband Andrew. Andrew was the key to Jana's stability. He made me fall for him. He was there every time she needed him.
Jana also had to deal with her best friend Grace doubting her husband Gavin's loyalty.

The Storm deals with gender discrimination which unfortunately is a true problem. Laura Lexington makes this story very realistic. From the relationship between the main couple, to the gossip and the legal process surrounding discrimination.  All her characters were fully developed. Andrew was a sweetheart and I love Gavin. The end leaves you wanting to read his book immediately.

Cliffhanger: No

Taming the Storm (The Storm #3) by Samantha Towle

Taming the Storm
After Tom Carter, part of the Mighty Storm band, saw his best friend Jake hurting when he thought he was loosing his girl, he made a promise to God to change his ways.
You, see Tom is a bit of a player and giving up easy women was not in his plans.

Lyla Summers has been hurt in the worse possible way. After being betrayed by the people she cared the most for she makes a vow of her own. Her life gets complicated when her band Vintage signs with TMS Records and their band manager can't come with them on tour.

Tom steps in as their new tour manager. This means she will be around him 24/7. He will travel with them and share the same bus.  Lyla wants to stay professional but their attraction is about to combust.

Lyla discovers that there is a different side of Tom that not many people are privy to.  He is not only funny but he is a good listener.

I loved Tom Cat from the first TMS book. His humor and loyalty as a friend was enough for me to want to read his own HEA. It did surprise me to know his softer side, his own turmoil, and I was happy to see that he could be responsible with the bands record company when needed.

Lyla was a little harder to like. She pushed Tom away more times than I wanted to read about but in the end she's the one who gets hurt and that tilted the axis.

I do have to say that even though I love Tom's story, Jake is still my favorite in this series.

Favorite Quotes:

“You’re such a guy.”
“I fucking hope so, Firecracker. With the size of my junk, I’d worry if I wasn’t.”

I would rather have a moment of everything with you than a lifetime of nothing.”

“You’re not a mut. You’re an ex-mut.”
“An ex-mut. I like it. Makes me sound badass.”

“That this is it…you and me…we’re forever. You’re my heaven, Firecracker.”

And her past relationship experiences with men have been less than great. Lyla is focussing all her energy into her band, Vintage, so when they receive an offer to sign with TMS Records, it seems that things are finally turning around for her. The last thing she wants is a man getting in the way. Tom Carter loves women. Okay, love might be pushing it … Tom enjoys screwing lots of women. When tragedy befalls his best friend, Tom finds himself making a promise to the big man upstairs – he’ll change his ways, if he saves the woman his best friend loves. Tom’s prayer is answered. Now he has to change. Which means no sleeping around. After Vintage’s manager breaks her leg skiing, Tom steps in as tour manager, and Lyla finds herself on tour with the man whore of rock. Put one perpetually horny Tom and one sex resistant Lyla together, equals a recipe for disaster. Or so you’d think… But an unexpected friendship is formed. A closeness neither of them expected. Putting one chastity belt and one lamp that is in desperate need of rubbing, to the test. Will the sex storm that is Tom Carter, finally find himself tamed by the rock chick with a hardened heart, or will he go back to his womanizing ways…?

READ THE BOOKS THAT STARTED IT ALL!
Book 1 - The Mighty Storm

the mighty storm

It's been twelve years since Tru Bennett last saw Jake Wethers, her former best friend and boy she once loved.
Jake Wethers, sexy, tattooed and deliciously bad lead singer, and brains behind The Mighty Storm, one of the biggest bands in the world, left Tru with a broken heart when he moved from England to America with his family when they were both fourteen. Sent to interview Jake for her music column by the magazine she works for, they are both unprepared for the sparks that fly the instant they reconnect. Only, there’s a complication to their instant feelings for one another—Will, Tru’s boyfriend of two years. Then Jake makes Tru a job offer she can't refuse—travelling the world with him and his band. But taking the job means leaving Will behind, and being on the road with the band means spending an inordinate amount of time with Jake. Is Tru strong enough to resist the delectable bad boy who once held her heart so completely, or will she willingly risk it all for one night with the world's most notorious womanizer?

Book 2 - Wethering the Storm

wethering the storm

Music journalist Tru Bennett has done the impossible: capture the heart of rock-star bad boy Jake Wethers. Now they’re busy planning a wedding and navigating their new life together in the US. Of course Tru misses London and her best friend, Simone, but living happily ever after with Jake in LA is going to be great…right? Wrong. Even the bright California sun can’t whitewash the dark side of celebrity coupledom. Greedy music execs, merciless paparazzi, and Jake’s wild past are lurking around every corner. Making matters worse, Jake announces he doesn’t want kids, which just may be a deal breaker. Tru loves Jake more than anything. But when a devastating crisis threatens to destroy everything they’ve fought for, the couple must face the hard truth: What if, this time, love is not enough?

The Mighty Storm (The Storm #1) by Samantha Towle

The Mighty Storm
Tru Bennett works for a magazine. She has a happy life. She has Will, her boyfriend of two years, in her life. When she gets the chance to interview Jake Wethers she is conflicted. Jake's band The Mighty Storms are world famous.
She used to know Jake. They grew up together and she knows about his childhood trauma. He moved to America at fourteen, leaving her behind. He was her best friend and crush, he left her, and now after fourteen years, he is back. When she gets to the interview she is in shock. Her attraction to Jake is immediate and to her surprise he remembers her.
He takes her out to eat the next day and then makes her agree to become his personal biographer. For this she will need to leave with him on tour. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. She just doesn't know how to stay away from him.
Their desire for each other complicates everything. Yes, there is cheating in this book but it is not prolonged.
The story brings to light many issues in the lives of rock stars, including fame, drugs, alcohol, and women.
The book ends without a cliffhanger. YAY!!!
I'm also glad to hear that there is more to come.

Wanting to change the subject, I say, “Okay, seeing as though I’m in interviewer mode, I want to ask – if you, Jake Wethers, had to pick one song as your title song to describe yourself, what would it be – and it can’t be one of your own,” I quickly add.
“Hurt,” he answers without hesitation.

It makes me hurt inside he picked that song.
“Why?”
He lets out a light sigh. “Some people said Reznor was writing a lyrical suicide note, others said he was writing about finding a reason to live. I think it’s both … it just depends on which side you’re looking at it from.”
“And which side are you looking at it from?”
He stares at me from a long moment. My heart is hammering in my chest.
“Now? … a reason to live.”
My insides start to tremble.
“Reznor’s version or Johnny Cash’s?” I ask quietly, trying to conceal the pain from my voice.
“Johnny Cash.”
“Why?”
He closes his eyes briefly. And in this moment I just want to magic up all the power in the world to soothe his pains away.
“Because I have a few things in common with him,” he answers, opening his eyes.
“Like?”
“The drugs … the women … hanging out for the girl of my dreams.”
I take a sharp breath in. Tears instantly prick the backs of my eyes.
He touches my face, his thumb smoothing over my lips. “You’re my June, Tru.”
Holy shit.
