Heating up reading lists this Fall will be Kate Meader’s highly anticipated Sparking the Fire, the “sexy and sassy” (#1 New York Times bestselling author Jude Deveraux) steamy third novel in the Hot in Chicago series, where former lovers unexpectedly reunite for a sizzling affair that will have the director yelling, “Quiet on the set!”

AN OLD FLAME STILL SIMMERS…
Wyatt Fox, resident daredevil at Engine Company 6, needs a low key job to keep him busy while he recovers from his latest rescue stunt. Consulting on a local movie shoot should add just enough spark to his day. But then in struts Molly Cade: the woman who worked his heart over good, and then left him in the Windy City dust.

BUT WILL A NEW SHOT AT LOVE LEAVE HER BURNED?
Actor Molly Cade, America’s fallen sweetheart, finally has her shot at a Hollywood comeback with a dramatic new role as a tough-as-nails firefighter that promises to propel her back into the big time. And she’s not going to let anything stand in her way—even a certain brooding, blue-eyed firefighter she’s never quite been able to forget…Their story is straight out of a script: irrepressible, spunky heroine meets taciturn, smoldering hero. But these two refuse to be typecast, and when the embers of an old love are stoked, someone is bound to get burned…

Praise for Sparking the Fire:

“The tale of hot firefighters and the women—and one man—who love them has come to an end. Meader ends this series with role playing, fierce family loyalty and multiple orgasms. The male protagonist goes through a transformation that showcases his vulnerability, insecurities, possessiveness and protectiveness. The many instances of a family sticking together through it all are more than enough to tug on the heart strings, but the steamy sex and sentimental pillow talk make this book a must-read.”
RT Book Reviews Four Star Review, Scorcher

“Can a firefighter and a movie star really make it work? Meader (Rekindle the Flame, 2015) immerses you in Wyatt’s tight-knit family of foster siblings that she’s built throughout the Hot in Chicago series, and readers will feel like part of the family in no time. Her descriptions of Chicago will leave fans wanting to travel to the Windy City and fall in love with their own firefighters.”

"Falling in love with you was the easiest thing I’ve ever done."

Hot Firefighter....do I need to say anything else?

The Hot in Chicago series brings us a new couple to fall in love with. I do recommend reading the books in order since all the couples have something special.

In Sparking the Fire, Kate Meader gives us the full background story about the secret behind Wyatt Fox's weekend retreats. She spices it up with the romance between Wyatt and Molly.

Wyatt is one of the firefighters in the Dempsey family. His brother and step-father were killed in the line of duty. Wyatt found out something about his brother that no one else knows. Keeping the secret is getting harder as time passes. Wyatt recently was injured in his last rescue mission and now his boss is making him the consultant for a movie involving firefighters. Wyatt agrees to do it until he finds himself next to Molly Cade, the woman he shared a full week with in a hotel room years ago and has never forgotten.

"Wyatt had now entered the land of Mollywood."

Molly Cade has something to prove after her career is being affected by her personal life. She recently got her divorce from her famous actor husband and her intimate pictures were distributed all over the world. She wants to show the public she's more than just a pretty face and nice body. She wants to move forward and making a movie she can be proud of is first on her list.  The last thing she needs is to start a romance with a hot firefighter.

"Hello, seren-freaking-dipity, it was him. Not just him from all those years ago, but him, the elusive Dempsey."

Wyatt and Molly have great chemistry together. They also have unfinished business. You can almost feel the pages sizzling every time they were together. As always the banter was funny. I love that some of the other characters have a say in this novel. It makes it more like a real family, just adding one or two new members with each book.

I'm hoping for more books in this series.

This series continues to be enjoyable with each new book. I love Kate Meader's writing style and the characters she has created in this series. The way all of the characters interacted with each other was great, and I really liked seeing characters from the previous books in this book. The banter between the two main character in this book was hilarious and the passion between them was steamy to say the least!

I LOVED Wyatt. What was so great about Wyatt was that he wasn't a stereotypical alpha male. Sure, he was protective, but he was also loyal, kind, humble, and family oriented. Wyatt always put his family and those he cared about first, and I admired him a lot for that. I quickly and easily fell in love with Wyatt.

Molly was an okay main character, but I didn't love her as much as I loved Wyatt. What bothered me about Molly was that she acted bratty at times and made some really dumb decisions. I didn't like they way Molly treated Wyatt sometimes. I thought she had some redeeming qualities, but she definitely did things that rubbed me the wrong way.

Even though there were some slow parts in this book, I thought it was very entertaining as a whole. I absolutely loved Wyatt and the entire Dempsey family! I think fans of this series will definitely enjoy this book!

Kate Meader was raised on romance. An Irish girl, she started with Catherine Cookson and Jilly Cooper novels, and spiced it up with some Mills & Boon. Now based in Chicago, she writes romances of her own, where sexy contemporary alpha heroes and strong heroines match each other quip for quip. When not immersed in tales of brooding mill owners, oversexed equestrians, and men who can rock an apron or a fire hose, Kate lives on the web at katemeader.com.

Rekindle the Flame by Kate Meader

Title: Rekindle the Flame
Series: Hot in Chicago 0.5
Author: Kate Meader
Release Day: November 30, 2015

Cuddle up by the fire with the irresistible prequel to Kate Meader’s smokin’ Hot in Chicago series—originally published in the sizzling holiday anthology Baby, It’s Cold Outside—a superhot e-novella that will warm you from your head to your heart and all the way to your toes!

Chicago firefighter Beck Rivera always knew his destiny would be defined by two things: his dream to follow in the footsteps of his legendary foster father Sean Dempsey and his teenage passion for heiress Darcy Cochrane, the one girl who could both stoke and cool his fire. Loving her meant setting her free and breaking her heart—and his. But when a chance reunion at his family’s bar, sparked by a drunk Santa, places her in his path again, destiny can no longer be denied.

The last thing heiress-turned-tattoo-artist Darcy Cochrane needs is the rollercoaster of emotion stirred up by her first love: sexy, gorgeous man-on-fire Beck Rivera. But he always had such talented hands. And more talented lips. And...maybe one time can’t hurt. Then she’ll send him packing like he did to her all those years ago. But Darcy and Beck soon discover that nothing ignites holiday flames like rekindling a lost love...

Kate Meader's Hot in Chicago series is one of my favorites.

This is the novella which was featured in Baby, It's Cold Outside and it's all about Beck and Darcy.
I read the other books first, so it was great going back and seeing Eli, Luke and Gage before they fell in love.

Beck Rivera made a mistake. Seven years ago he let Darcy leave town. He wanted her to conquer the world. He didn't feel he was good enough for her. He was just a kid and his only ambition was to become a firefighter, just like his foster dad had been.

Darcy Cochrane is back in town for a few months helping her grandmother heal. She doesn't see eye to eye with her dad and she has been living mostly in Europe. She has become a tattoo artist and a very good one at that. Seeing Beck again has made her realize she has been running and he's tempting her to stop.

I love how the novella ended. Nothing more romantic than Beck supporting Darcy and making a statement about it. It made my heart melt with love.

"When you're in the room, you're my sun."

Playing with Fire (Hot in Chicago #2)
by Kate Meader

From popular romance author Kate Meader comes the second novel in Hot in Chicago, a brand-new, sizzling series that follows a group of firefighting foster siblings and their blazing hot love interests!

As the only female firefighter at Engine Co. 6, Alexandra Dempsey gets it from all sides: the male coworkers who think she can’t do the job, the wives and girlfriends who see her as a threat to their firefighter men, and her overprotective foster brothers who want to shelter their baby sister at all costs. So when she single-handedly saves the life of Eli Cooper, Chicago’s devastatingly handsome mayor, she assumes the respect she’s longed for will finally come her way. But it seems Mr. Mayor has other ideas…

Eli Cooper’s mayoral ratings are plummeting, his chances at reelection dead in the water. When a sexy, curvaceous firefighter gives him the kiss of life, she does more than bring him back to the land of the living—she also breathes vitality into his campaign. Riding the wave of their feel-good story might prop up Eli’s flagging political fortunes, but the sizzling attraction between them can go nowhere; he’s her boss, and there are rules that must be obeyed. But you know what they say about rules: they’re made to be broken…

I knew I wanted to read this book. I read Flirting With Fire and the novella Melting Point and enjoyed the characters and their banter a whole bunch. However, I don't think you need to read them to love Playing With Fire. This is a book that you are going to want to read in one sitting (who needs sleep when you love reading?). It has great chemistry, great humor and very sexy scenes!

Eli Copper is the Major of Chicago. He has a thing for firefighter Alexandra Dempsey. A thing he tries to fight with every fiber of his body. You see, Eli believes that he can't be with Alex because technically he's her boss. He knows that Alex pushes all his buttons. She either make him want to wring her neck or he wants to make passionate love to her. He really can't decide. When the perfect excuse comes up to spend more alone time with her, he can't seem to stay away any longer. Like a moth, he's attracted to the light. But, he might just get burned....

Alexandra Dempsey is the only adoptive daughter of a family of firefighters. She's impetuous, determined, brave and extremely loyal to her family. She would do anything for them, including fake-dating the pompous pretty boy major. Yes, he might be incredible attractive but who wants to be with him, right?

It makes it harder for Alex and Eli to have a real relationship when the Dempseys don't see eye to eye with the Major, for several reasons. Which brings me to another point I want to make. This family is amazing! Tempers run hot (Luke and Alex), guys are too hot (all of them), one is keeping secrets (Wyatt) and the heroines are smart and sassy.

I tell you, this is a good series with incredible chemistry and banter.

“Forty pounds of equipment up a gazillion flights of stairs. Not only can she save the lives of men twice her size before she’s had breakfast, but I would happily put my safety in her hands and trust that she could crush the nuts of anyone who tried to harm me.”

I have never read any books by Kate Meader before, and after reading this book, I know I will be reading books by her in the future. Kate's writing in this book was so addictive. I read this book in one sitting. I seriously could not put it down. I was surprised with how funny this book was! I laughed out loud so many times because of how sassy Alex was.

I started off hating Eli. I hated the way he viewed women and how he seemed to do whatever he wanted. However, I slowly fell in love with him just like Alex did. It was nice to see his character develop as he opened up to Alex. I went through the same issues Alex did, because I also hated him and loved him at the same time. Eli was just so infuriatingly sexy that I couldn't help but fall in love with him over time.

I really liked the romance between Eli and Alex because it felt naturally paced. It was so much fun to watch Eli try and win Alex over. Their chemistry was off the charts! This lead to some steamy sex scenes. I liked that the sex scenes were not overly done and that they did not take over the entire book.

Alex and Eli both made some dumb choices that annoyed me. Eli would act like a prick and keep secrets, and Alex would overreact and be immature. However, those things aside, I really loved this book. I definitely will continue to read this series, and I will have to go back and read the book before this one. I think anyone who loves steamy romances will adore this book.

Once again Kate Meader blows me away with her fantastic storytelling.

Alexandra Dempsey is a female firefighter for the CFD.  She’s not your typical woman.  She’s loud, compulsive and has absolutely no filter. When she gets under Mayor Eli Cooper’s skin sparks fly.

Eli doesn’t believe women should be in the CFD because they aren’t as physically strong as men.  Will these two complete opposites be able to resist each other? Or will their opposite attitudes make them fall for each other even harder?

**

I really, REALLY loved this book.  Alex is such a strong heroine (even though her mouth gets her in a lot of trouble). She’s loyal to a fault and fiercely protective of her family.  But she wants more in live, she’s tired of the dates and wants to find her one true love.

When she gets around Eli you can instantly tell that she despises the man. With his misogynistic views of women, Alex is constantly giving him hell.  One of my favorite things when reading is when the two main characters that constantly go head-to-head. It keeps the story flowing at such a quick pace.

“Why wouldn’t you be interested in me, Alexandra? I’m told I’m quite the catch.”

She snorted.  “If you’re looking to reel in a great white shark.”

One thing I love about this series is the fierceness of the family. Alex and her foster siblings would move mountains for each other.  I love their protectiveness and their openness and humor.  I’m so excited to read the next book about another sibling.

If you’re looking for a super fun, super sweet and sexy read you have to check out this fantastic series by Kate Meader.  You’ll be entertained until the very last page!

Melting Point (Hot in Chicago #1.5)
by Kate Meader

Brady Smith is a chef in a very well known restaurant. He's also a former marine. He has the scars to prove it. He's more of an introvert and a man of few words.  Brady doesn't believe Gage can be interested in him.

Gage Simpson is a happy guy despite a horrible upbringing until he was placed under the Dempseys' family. There he learned what it is to be loved unconditionally. He gets enough attention with his golden looks, enough to be nicknamed Golden and Baby Thor. He's dedicated to his profession as a firefighter like all his other foster siblings.  He's the comic relief most of the time but he also hides his emotional scars much better than Brady does.

When the two are together, their chemistry is amazing. The only problem is making it work. Both of them have to open up to move forward.

I recommend reading this series in order. It's much more fun that way.  Gage and Brady's relationship had a slow build up. Having both POV's helped me love both characters. I was rooting for them the whole time.

Next is Alex and Eli.

Flirting with Fire (Hot in Chicago #1) by Kate Meader

Luke Almeida will always have his family's back. Although, sometimes it places him in the hot spot. After a fight with policeman that ended up on Youtube he's suspended and he will need to follow the rules the Mayor Eli Cooper and his new assistant press secretary Kinsey want. Playing nice is not in his plans especially if the cop deserved that and much more. His attraction to Kinsey is the last straw.

“Well, I just got off my shift and I have forty-eight hours free ahead of me. Usually I sleep the first twelve, but if you need me sooner, sweetheart, I suppose I can rework my schedule.”

Kinsey Taylor moved from San Francisco to Chicago for a man. The man she was engaged to and who left her for a nurse. She is trying to do her best at work since her love life is a mess. Meeting Luke Almeida and getting to know him and his family can only mess up her future plans. Largely due to the sparks that come between Luke and her every time they are together. Nevertheless, she is not going to change her life goals for another man again or is she??

“That dark, disapproving, smoldering thing. It’s illegal in Europe, you know. Genetically modified eyes, that’s what you’ve got.” She squinted up at him. “They have to be fake. All that blue, like the Pacific Ocean out at Baker Beach.”
--

Flirting with Fire was a cute story, with interesting characters.
Luke and Kinsey had great chemistry and an awesome banter. She was a spitfire and Luke was a sexy alpha.
I love how the Demseys (Wyatt, Beckm Alex, Gage) became a family with an exceptional bond. I was intrigued by all of them and I can't wait to get to know them better.
I hope Alex makes Eli suffer a little bit. I'm still mad about his behavior. A little begging will go a long way to make me like him.
I also enjoyed the side story of Gage (Baby Thor, LOL) and Brady. Their novella is going to be awesome...
