Double Down by Gabra Zackman

Title: Double Down
Series: The Bod Squad #3) by
Author: Gabra Zackman
Release Date: January 11, 2016

It’s Spy vs. Spy as a sassy Ocean’s Eleven-style team of undercover operatives finds love and mayhem in the third Bod Squad adventure—part mystery, part romance, and totally, hilariously hot.

Who would fall for an assassin…except another assassin?

After a security breach is written in the sky—literally—the Bod Squad jumps back into action. An important member of the team has been assassinated by the mob, and the squad’s public enemy #1, Baba Samka, is getting too close. Could his deadly work be an inside job? Only trained assassins Tyka and Mahmoud have the very particular set of skills the Bod Squad needs to solve this case. Neither of these dead sexy shooters is looking for a partner—but before they know it, the sparks are flying faster than bullets. Could true love be in their sights?

This is the third installment in the Bod Squad series. I do believe it's a much better reading experience if you read the books in order.

If you are following the series you know that the Bod Squad was after white collar criminals but because of different events and revelations, there is a much bigger fish to catch.

The first couple who started the series is still trying to get married in between all the new incredible events. Also, two assassins who are part of the team are realizing that they care more for each other that just a hook-up.

I enjoyed Tyla and Mahmoud. They are both strong characters and watching them fall for each other was a great plot development.

This book, as the books prior, is full of action and plot twists.

I hope we get another book in the series!

Game On (The Bod Squad #1) by Gabra Zackman

Legs is an undercover operative looking to bring down white-collar criminal Chas Palmer.  From the moment she meets Chas, she feels a connection unlike anything she’s felt before.  Will she get the job done or will her heart get in the way?

I really loved this fast paced, suspenseful, romantic comedy.  GAME ON had all the elements I love in a book.  The characters were sharp mouthed and witty and the plot was suspenseful and twisty.  Legs was the perfect female character to read about.

“What, Bee?  That I’m so weak and vulnerable?  That I’m not “too much”?  That I’m not really as strong as I play?  That’s a bunch of bullshit and you know it.  I’m every bit as strong as I play, and I want someone who wants that.  I want someone who can meet me eye to eye.  I want someone who is as strong and as brave as I am!  I mean, god, are there no fucking men anymore?  What the fuck!” . . . “Here’s the thing: I want what everyone else has.  I want to meet my match, and marry him, and love him till the day I die.  I just. . .”  “I guess I just hope he exists.  Somewhere on this earth.”

GAME ON is a suspenseful romance about finding love in all the wrong places and I am so excited to dive into the next book in the series.  While GAME ON does have a good ending, there are still some strings left to be tied.

Susannah “Legs” Carter is an undercover operative. Her team specializes in white-collar crime. Her new mission is to infiltrate the life of Charles “Chas” Oakley Palmer III. He’s a suspect in many white collar heists. From the moment she meets Chas she knows she is in trouble.

Chas is looking for revenge. He wants to find the man who murdered his dad and the only way he knows how to do it is to play the part of a hacker for very bad people. When he meets Legs his whole world is turned. He likes her and he wants to get to know her better. Too bad they are playing for opposite teams.

This was a fun read. It had sass, action, and sexy times. I thought Chas was a smooth operator and Legs was smart cookie. In addition, the rest of the ensemble were likable characters and they had chemistry.  I’m hoping they all get their own story. Jackson and Lisa Bee are next!
