Fueled (The Driven Trilogy #2) by K. Bromberg

Fueled
Fueled starts just where Driven ends. (You remember, the horrible cliffhanger that I luckily didn't need to endure for more than a few minutes until my kindle loaded.)

Colton is dealing with the demons from his past. He tries to open up to Rylee. His early life is coming back to haunt him.

 “Spiderman. Batman. Superman. Ironman.”

At times Colton tries to let Rylee go but then he knows she is everything he wants and needs.

“I’ve never let someone this far in because that means secrets are shared and pasts are discovered. And because it means you need. I’ve only ever needed myself – needing others only results in pain. In abandonment. In unspeakable horror. And yet, I need Rylee right now.”

Rylee was there for him. She was supportive. Although, I don't blame her for loosing it at times. I was tired of the whiplash too.

It is hard for Colton to admit he is falling in love with Rylee. That feeling is so alien to him. He doesn't know what to do with them. Like I said he pushes her away and I wanted to hurt him during those times.

“You know, a couple of months ago, I might have answered you differently. But since you fell out of the damn storage closet, nothing has been the same.” He pauses momentarily as he struggles to find his next words, his fingertip trailing down the bare line of my spine. “No one’s mattered before. Ever. But you? Fuck, somehow you changed that. You matter.”

Rylee had some insecurities that Colton didn't help dissolving. I want to tell him to stop with the blond parade. He needs to tell them to stop touching him.  This doesn't fly with Rylee ( or with me for that matter). I especially hated Tawny. She is evil.

I liked so many things about this book. I love the kids, love the best friends (Kim- I think Becks needs his own book), love their banter. And the best part happened just before the cliffhanger.

Now, this cliffhanger I have to suffered. Sigh!

At least I know what ACE stands for:

"Arrogant. Conceited. Egomaniac!"

Driven (The Driven Trilogy #1) by K. Bromberg

Driven
Rylee Thomas is just trying to survive the rest of the night at the Charity Auction she has worked hard to develop. She works for Corporate Cares, a company which takes care of children from broken homes. Her night gets complicated when she gets trapped in a storage closet and falls over the man who comes to her rescue.  They share a very steamy moment before she comes back to her senses. Later on, she meets the stranger again but she's still mad at the handsome "Ace". You see, Colton is a player. He is arrogant, confident and gorgeous. Rylee doesn't want to complicate her life and isn't looking for a fling.

"Last time I checked, sweetheart, my name wasn't Ace."

Colton Donovan gets what he wants and he wants Rylee. Colton is a race car driver and he lives his life to the fullest. He doesn't apologize to anyone. So why can't he get Ryle out of his mind?
Colton will go to great extents to keep Rylee in his life. The problem is that he has a past full of blondes with broken hearts and they can't be quite ugly to Rylee.

I found myself liking Rylee, she was dedicated to the kids under her care. She is smart and funny. The banter was good too. I like that she told Colton what she felt (most of the time).
Colton was great too. He was sweet, tender and you could tell he was trying to open up to Rylee. His past is not a happy one and it will take some time before he trusts anyone.

This book does end in a cliffhanger but Fueled is out.  So no need to throw your kindle to the wall.

"Well, thanks for the update. I'll let you in on a little something as well, Ace. I don't like being made to feel like I'm sloppy seconds to your bevy of babes. You're developing a pattern of wanting me right after I know you've been with another. That's a habit you're going to need to break or nothing else is going to happen here."
