Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris

Title: Behind Closed Doors
Author: B.A. Paris
Publisher: St. Martin's Press
Release Date: August 9, 2016

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace.

He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do. Though, you’d like to get to know Grace better.

But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart.

Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.

Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie.

Wow! that's all I can think of after finishing Behind Closed Doors.

I'm so happy the hype surrounding this book was true. I must admit it has been on my TBR for a few months and I'm just glad I was finally able to move it to the top of my list this week.

The story centers around Grace, Jack, and Millie who is Grace's sister with Down Syndrome. Everything seems perfect when Grace meets Jack and she thinks she finally has found her prince charming. Someone she can count on to help her take care of Millie. In the past, Grace has broken  up relationships when she figured the man she was with was not ready to have Millie in their life.

Chillingly just after their wedding, everything changes between them. Their story becomes nothing short of shocking,  and you as the reader, can't help but root for Grace to win in the end.

I was pleasantly surprised by the flow of the story. I thought the author did a great job giving us enough tidbits in the past to be able to have a clear picture of what type of monster Jack was.

I think that even though some parts were predictable, it was well written and it had my complete focus throughout. The end left a smile on my face.

I'm certain I'll read another book by this author.

Cliffhanger:No
