Lucas Black is a cop who was happily married until his family was no more. He has been looking for his wife for a while and the last clue he got has taken him down to the MC's doors. Lucas has been putting pressure on the MC to get more information from them. Finding Ava and learning she is the daughter of the MC's President was not in his plans. He tries to remain unaffected by Ava but he recognizes a broken soul and it calls to him. He won't let Ava destroy herself. 

I'm a huge Bella Jewell fan and I was excited about getting this book and I was not disappointed. Bella has a way to make her MC worlds likable. To my surprise, she can make cops sexy too!!

Lucas was everything I wanted in a story like this. I found myself feeling terribly sad with what Ava had to go through. Thankfully, Lucas was there for her and when the time came to step up, he was there to confront whoever he needed too. 

I can't wait for the next MC Sinners generation book.

I'm disappointed in this book. I usually love this author's books. Her alpha males are great. Sadly, I can't say that about Rainer. I can't believe how many times he went with Pippa instead of choosing Mali. Pippa also bothered me. She had no reason to feel jealousy when she was in love with someone else already. I liked Mali but I felt like she was a doormat for a while. It took her too long to set Rainer straight.

Now, her mother is sick and reluctantly she has to face Max again. However, five years did nothing to stop the passion they have for each other. The big question is how are they going to forgive each other.

I was excited to read another book by this author.  The story is told in past and present and from both characters POV. Also, we are given glimpses of some of her characters from a prior series.  

There were things I liked in this story. However, I did have some issues with the main reason they get separated. Max pushing Annabelle away didn't make much sense to me. In addition, I would have liked more detail on how Max was able to put himself back together and the reason why he never pursues her after he got better. Same with Belle. I want her to make him suffer a little bit more. She forgave him way to easily. 

Overall I did like it.
