Right Where You Are by L.E. Bross

Title: Right Where You Are
Series: Second Chances
Author: L.E. Bross
Release Day: November 16, 2015

Avery Melrose is used to having it all. So when her boyfriend cheats on her, she reacts like any spoiled rich girl-she freaks out and vandalizes his new truck, Carrie Underwood style. Now she's stuck with 300 hours of community service doing road-side garbage duty.

Seth Hunter just got out of prison, and after a few hundred hours picking up litter on the side of the highway, he can finally put his mistakes behind him. If he can string together some kind of existence, maybe it'll be enough to get his sister away from their stepfather, the man who sent Seth to prison in the first place.

A romance between these two is doomed from the start. Girls like Avery want castles and white horses, and Seth is no prince charming.

But sometimes, being around Avery makes Seth think he could make something of himself. Maybe even be worthy of a girl like her. It's just too bad real life gets in the way first, tearing these two apart before they have any chance of getting to Happily Ever After.

I thought this book was a quick and fun read. I loved the banter between the two main characters, Seth and Avery. I always enjoy romances with great banter. Seth and Avery also had off the charts chemistry that lead to some very steamy moments! I was immediately hooked by those factors. However, I felt like the story sort of dragged at some points. I felt like the book was way too focused on the sex and sexual chemistry, which caused me to loose interest in the book at certain times. I wanted to see more of an emotional connection between Seth and Avery. I would enjoy maybe reading a sequel where they didn't constantly have sex. Don't get me wrong, the sex scenes were steamy and well written, I just wanted less of it.

I thought Avery and Seth were both interesting characters. I felt so bad for them and the situations they were put in. I was rooting for them to get their happy ending. I especially felt bad for Seth. I just wanted to give him a hug!

At times, the characters really annoyed me and the dialogue between the characters seemed a little forced. I also just didn't like how focused they were on sex. Other than that, I liked this book! I thought the author did a great job and making the plot flow.

Overall, this was a enjoyable read. It was very entertaining at times, and I blew through this book. Sure, there were things I wanted to change in this book, but I liked the book as a whole.

*This ebook was given to me in exchange for a honest review.*

Avery Melrose just discovered that destroying the car of her cheating boyfriend only cost her more trouble. The judge is giving her community service for her crime. The same night she decides to go out with her best friend to have a little fun before she starts her sentence. She is not looking for a one night stand until she meets a guy she can't keep her eyes off. Yet, after a steamy encounter she leaves believing him to be a jerk. To her surprise, he is there the next morning and he's going to be doing the community service with her!

Seth Hunter is finally out of prison. His best friend takes him to a bar to enjoy his freedom. Seth knows his focus should be in staying out of trouble and keeping his sister safe. The last thing in his mind should be falling for a girl. Meeting Avery makes him want to derail all the plans. He knows they are a world apart, but he's willing to give their relationship a chance.

I like this book a lot. Seth and Avery's backgrounds are completely opposite. Avery comes from a rich family. She's spoiled and entitled. On the other hand, she has worked hard for her success, losing some of her own self by letting her parents guide her life. She aims to please them. When she meets Seth, he frees her. She will fight for him and he would be the only thing she won't give up on. It doesn't matter who's against them.

I felt so bad for Seth. He had no one in his corner except for his best friend. He was trying hard to do the right thing. I was impressed by how he was able to open up his heart to someone who could hurt him, as much as Avery could, having had a similar experience with another rich girl before.

"You fight for her, and I'll fight for you. Always."

Cliffhanger: No

Intercepting Love (Second Chances #5) by L.P. Dover Blog Tour and Giveaway!

~ Synopsis ~

Both have what she wants … but only one has what she needs.

Working with professional athletes and helping them recover from their injuries has always been Kate Townsend’s dream, but after an accident left her scarred and heartbroken years ago she refuses to let what happened in her past happen again. Staying focused is the key, as well as not letting her feelings interfere with her job … no matter the circumstances. All of that is easier said than done when not only one, but two men crave her healing touch, igniting every single desire she’s denied herself for so long.

Cooper Davis, NFL’s star quarterback and most eligible bachelor, packs up and leaves his home to move across the states to the East Coast after an injury results in the embarrassing trade to another team. Bitter from the pain, he deals with his problems through drugs and alcohol—almost ruining his football career—until he meets the one woman who makes him want to feel; the same woman who refuses to give up on him no matter how many times he screws up. He has to have her, and he’s not going to stop until he makes her his. Especially, now that someone else threatens to take her away.

Motocross champion and local bad boy Luke Collins never takes no for an answer. For the past four months he’s used his charms to get what he wants, and now he’s so close to getting the girl of his dreams … if she’ll give in just once. One time is all he needs, and he’s never been known to fail, but he’s also never had to fight for a woman’s affections. Only one man will win their way into Kate’s heart, but which one will intercept the other and take what they want? Which one will she choose?

Teaser 1:

We pulled into the parking lot of the practice field and I shut off my car, the tension in the air crackling like fire. When I turned to look at her, it was like her stormy gray gaze could see right through me. There were a shit ton of things I wanted, but nothing as much as leaning forward to kiss those lips of hers.

With her breaths coming fast and low, she licked her dry lips and shook her head. “Cooper, we can’t.”

Bending over the center console, I glanced down at her lips and murmured low, “Yes we can, Kate, and I’m going to make sure we do.”

Teaser 2:

Taking my elbow, Cooper guided me to his car and opened the door. “I’m not worried about your brother, Kate. I’m not going to do anything to you unless you ask me to.”

“Like what?” I asked coyly.

Shielded from view by the car door, Cooper leaned in and brought his lips closer to mine, opening them slightly. I couldn’t move, but then again … I didn’t want to. Instead of kissing me, he murmured across my lips, “I’m sure you’ll figure that out when the time comes. If you want me to kiss you, I’m not going to do it until you place your soft lips on mine first. If you want me to touch you, I’m not going to unless you beg me for it. It’s all on you now, love.”

Teaser 3:

“In your eyes I see exactly what I want. You’re not here with me because of my money or because of what I do. You actually see the people you’re around and the goodness inside of them. That is what gives me hope.”

“Hope for what?” I asked breathlessly, mesmerized.

He brushed my hair away from my face and smoothed his thumb along my jaw. “Hope that one day you will see in my eyes what I see in yours. There’s a craving deep inside of you that I can see each time I touch you. It burns brighter every single time. I’ve never seen that with anyone, and that is how I know I have a chance.”

Teaser 4:

“You don’t have to worry about him making the moves on me, Luke. He said he wouldn’t touch me unless I asked him to. I think we’re both safe.”

Placing his hands against the wall, Luke trapped me in and murmured in my ear, “Hmm … he’s better than I thought. You know he’s just playing games with you, right?”

“Everyone plays games in their own way, Luke. Even you do, but it’s not going to change anything,” I told him.

“Good,” he murmured huskily. “Although, I’d have to say that’s where me and him differ.” He trailed his finger down my cheek and past my neck to my collarbone. “I’d be afraid you would never ask me. That’s why I have to take what I want until you tell me no.”

Teaser 5:

Finally, Cooper gazed up at me, his eyes red and pained. “Please tell me you forgive me for this, Kate. You know I never wanted to hurt you.”

“I know, and there’s nothing to forgive,” I whispered, tears falling down my cheeks. “I’m so proud of you for pushing through it. I know it wasn’t easy.”

Nodding quickly, he got to his feet and pulled me over to my bed, holding my hands gently in his. With his weary gaze on my wrists, he thumbed the bruises gently and murmured, “Do you want to know why I don’t ever want to hurt you? Why it kills me that it was my hands that did this to you?”

“Why?” I whispered, holding my breath.

Sighing heavily, he lifted his gaze and placed both hands on my cheeks, wiping away my tears. “It’s because I love you, Kate, and people aren’t supposed to hurt the ones they love. The last thing I want is for you to hate me for what I did.”

Sugar Daddy Review

"Absolutely one of the best books for me right now. I loved it mostly because it was fluffy, romantic, and meaningful." Reading Renee Reviews

First a Dream Review

"This is a Modern Day Cinderella Story. Not my typical read, but I truly enjoyed it. At first I wasn't sure I would like this type of story, but once I started reading I found I couldn't put it down. The characters were so easily liked. Gabriel a very rich playboy, and Isabella a Mother of Two found a love that some would say could only be found in a fairy-tale.
“Don’t ever stop dreaming. Just dream bigger now.” Romance Uninhibited

First a Dream Synopsis

One showy winter night when her best friend has to cancel their girl's night out, Isabella surprises her husband at work, but she was the one who was shocked to find him in a compromising position with her sister. As a budding photographer, she struggles to find her passion and hold everything together for her young son and daughter, while preparing for a major gallery show. Desperate for inspiration, she seeks out the advice of her professor and mentor who tells her to dream again and be happy. He imagines Isabella will be fun, a distraction to stave off the boredom as he takes summer classes in this provincial town forty-five minutes from the bright lights and city life he's used to in Montreal.

Gabriel never imagined that without even trying, Isabella would change him and without even knowing, she'd win his heart. Just as they begin to build a future and everything seems to be coming together, his lies and deception threaten their happily ever after.

Tilting my chin up with his finger, he gazed down at me, his lips so close to mine. “I’m not a bad guy, love. I have my issues and you have yours. I think in time we’ll be what each other needs. You may not see it now, but you will. I’m still waiting on you to ask me.”
“Ask you what?” I breathed.
“To kiss you, touch you … whatever it is you ask of me. When that time comes I don’t want you to only want me. I want you to need me like I need you.”

10 Favorite Quotes from Fighting For Love
  1. “All I wanted was to hate you, but now that you’re right here in front of me I just hate myself because I still can’t. No matter how hard I tried, I could never get you out of my mind.”
  2. I wanted him again, but then I knew I shouldn’t. I had to remember that so many other women had tasted his lips and felt his body between their legs while my heart ached. Although, it wasn’t a full day ago that I was in the arms of another man; kissing him, and vowing to myself that I was going to try and get over my past. It was a vow I knew I couldn’t keep.
  3. “Okay, so I’ve made mistakes, but so have you,” he pointed out. “I’m pretty sure you didn’t stay innocent over the years, either. Right now I’d say we’re both fifty shades of fucked up. The question is … what are we going to do about it?”
  4. With his hands caressing my back, his breath tickled my skin when he murmured in my ear, “You will be mine tonight, angel. Your body, your lips … all mine.”  “For how long?” I whispered back, shivering from his touch. “One night? Two?” I had to know what he wanted.  He nipped my earlobe with his teeth and a deep rumble sounded in his chest. “I want you always, but I’ll settle for as long as you want to give me. Whether that be one night, two, or fifty years. It’s all up to you.”
  5. “Let me loose in a den of wolves, huh? Little does Ryan know I’m not a little lamb,” she thundered. “I’m also not a model. What if I suck?”  “You’ve never sucked at anything, Shelby. Just don’t get too comfortable with the guys, okay? I’m sure once we leave here word will spread they got to put their hands on what’s mine without getting their heads smashed in.”  “And who says I’m yours? I don’t think I gave you an answer yet,” she teased. “However, you did ask me to come here with you, so if I get excited being touched by your fellow fighters then it’s all your fault. I’m starting to think I might enjoy it.”
  6. She loved to tease me; she always had, but I fucking loved it. Her torture would come soon, and I was going to make sure she begged before I gave her what she wanted.
  7. Sliding the box of strawberries to my side, I grabbed one of the dark chocolate ones and rubbed it across her swollen lips. “Sweetheart, I don’t think this is torture, but I am getting ready to show you what torture is.”
  8. “It just feels like every step forward we take there’s always something that tries to hold us back.”  “And that’s why we’ll keep pushing,” he murmured low. “Nothing is going to hold us back because I’m not going to let it. I’ll fight for what’s mine, and you, my angel, are mine.”
  9. “I want to be the only man to have the privilege of touching you like this, of making love to you. Because this right here,” he murmured, placing his other hand over my heart, “is where I want to be. It’s where I’ve always wanted to be … it’s where I belong.”
  10. We only had to go down two more doors before he pressed me up against the wall and thrust his tongue in between my lips. Reaching between my legs to the waist of his jeans, I undid them and he let them fall to the floor. If only mine were gone I’d get him to take me against the wall and fuck me hard. I didn’t want it gentle tonight, I wanted it hard and fast.

The door to the arena room was open, and the moment we stepped in Claire gasped and I stared, wide-eyed at all the people. "Holy shit," I breathed in awe. "It's packed."
Every single chair around the cage was occupied and there were people standing around everywhere. There were two guys already in the cage battling it out, except they looked to be part of the Lightweight division. When I fought several years ago, I was competing for the Heavyweight title. If they did fights in order of division then I would be going up there last."Hey, guys," Tyler exclaimed, carrying a beer in his hands.
Disapprovingly, I glared at the beer and then back up to him. "You should know better than to get drunk before a fight. It makes you sloppy," I scolded him.
I really didn't care either way what he did, but I knew better than to drink when I had to compete. Tyler chugged his beer and threw his cup in the trash a little too roughly.
"I do know better than to drink when I have to fight, but unfortunately, I'm not fighting tonight," he announced.
"Wait, what?" Claire cut in. "What do you mean you're not fighting? If you're not the one fighting Mason then who is?"
Tyler glanced around the room with narrowed eyes until he found the person I was to fight and pointed to him. "That's the guy over there with the blue mohawk. I think you might know him. He said he owed you for something you did a long time ago. Care to explain," Tyler inquired curiously.
Following the direction of Ty's pointed finger, I groaned when I saw the guy with the blue mohawk. Fuck, I knew who he was, or better yet, I knew his wife ... very well.
"What is it Mason?" Claire asked worriedly. "Who is he?"
His name was Chase Benfield and I did the unthinkable by fucking his wife. Blowing out a frustrated breath, I lowered my head and began to explain, "Do you remember when I mentioned I had a dark past?"
"Yeah," she said, drawling out the word. "Let me guess, you fought him back in the day?"
I nodded. "Yes, but that wasn't just it." I didn't want to tell her what I did because I was ashamed of the way I acted and the way I did things. I was sure she would understand, hopefully, but I didn't want her thinking less of me.
Claire let go of my hand and crossed her arms over her chest defiantly. "Dammit, just tell me already. You did this same shit to me when I was keeping something from you."
"Fine," I gave in, "but I need you to know it was a long time ago and it was before I even met you. I was stupid and did lots of stupid things that I shouldn't have."
She rolled her eyes. "Let me guess, you slept with his girlfriend," she guessed blandly.
Sighing, I regretfully nodded my head and waited for the angry words to come spewing out of her mouth. Instead, she said, "So, what's the big deal? You slept with her. That shit happens all the time. Why would he be angry about that still?"
"Well," I began, "it was actually his wife and I hooked up with her in my prepping room during his fight for a spot at the Heavyweight title. His trainer had come looking for her and found us. Needless to say, word got back to Chase awfully fast."
Claire groaned and hung her head. "Oh, hell, this isn't going to be good." Chase finally spotted me from across the room and snarled his lip. No, I thought to myself, this definitely wasn't going to be good.
