Whisper to Me (Between Breaths #3) by Christina Lee

Whisper to Me
Rachel Mattson is coming back home during summer. Her mother called her and asked her to come home. She is moving her business Pure and needs her help.

Rachel reinvented herself when she left for college. She doesn't want people to know she was in an accident and she distracts herself with the her usual type, jocks.

Kai Nakos is home too. He was in Amsterdam but when things went south, his father told him it was time to come home and work at his casino.

Kai has been one of Rachel's best friends growing up and when Rachel was in the hospital he was there for her through her long rehabilitation process. He fell in love with her during that time but has never revealed his true feelings.
Can this be his chance to get the girl of his dreams?

I didn't know this was book 3 of this series when I read it but luckily it's a standalone.
I liked Rachel and I liked Kai.
I think it helps tremendously that we gets both characters POV's.  I felt sad for both of them and their lack of communication in regards to their feelings.
I do think that her ex-boyfriend is such a coward and I don't think I would have forgiven him.
Kai was sweet and he has always supportive of Rachel. He was also super HOT during their love scenes.
I didn't like Dakota because she kept of making Kai feel bad and if she gets her own story I hope she improves.
My one complaint would be the lack of epilogue. I would have liked a couple more chapters to show a glimpse into their future.

Now, I have to go back and read the first two books.

"Probably because we're putting it all on the line. Our feelings, our pride." I said, wondering where in the hell this foreign line of thinking was coming from. "When you ask someone to be yours, you're talking about the rest of your freaking life."
