BLURB

There’s a single defining moment within every skater. It lasts only a second. Two if you're good. Three if you’re really good. It’s the moment you’re in the air, your board somewhere beneath you, and nothing but wind surrounds you. It’s the feeling of being airborne.
The sixteen-year-old version of me would’ve said it was the greatest feeling in the world. Then at seventeen, I had my son. And every single second became a defining moment. Even the ones that consisted of heartbreak when his mother left us.
Seventeen. Single. Dad. That’s what my life became. Yet, every day, I managed to find that feeling of being airborne. Or at least I convinced myself I did. But I lied—to myself and to everyone around me. Until she showed up; Tanned skin, raven dark hair, and eyes the color of emeralds.
You know what sucks about being in the air? Coming down from the high. Sometimes you land on the board and nail the trick. Then kick, push, and coast away. Other times you fall. You fall hard. And those are the times when it’s not as easy to get back up, dust off your pads and try again. Especially
when the girl with the emerald eyes becomes your drug... And you become her poison.

I can't even figure out where to start my review for this book. I am emotionally drained. This book consumed me in the best way possible. My heart is still hurting from this beautiful book.

I am convinced that Josh is the love of my life. This book truly shows how tender and loving he is. He cares about everyone around him, and always puts others first. Watching his relationship with Tommy was so heartwarming and beautiful. Josh was a wonderful dad throughout the entire book. Josh went through a lot in this book, and my heart broke for him. There was so much pressure on him, and I truly felt so bad for him. My heart is hurting now as I write this review. I just loved Josh so much, and I hated having to watch him go through the things he had to go through in this book.

Becca and Josh together were magical. They had such a deep connection, and I loved watching their relationship develop. Their relationship left me breathless. I was craving more after reading this book. They went on such an emotional journey together, and it was so wonderful. I want to see more of their relationship.

This book made me go through a roller coaster of emotions. I think I felt every emotion possible in this book. I am still emotional unstable. The characters went through a lot in this book, and I can't believe they had to deal with those things. At times, there was a little too much angst and drama for me. I also wish the characters would have been honest with each other sooner in the book. I understood why they kept their secrets, but it still annoyed me. However, I still devoured this book.

Kick, Push was such an emotional and powerful book. This was by far one of Jay's most moving books. I don't think an author ever made me feel as many emotions as Jay did in this book. This book is some of Jay's best work.

If you are looking for a book that will make you feel all of the feels, then this is the book for you.

4- 4.5 / 5 Fangs
