That One Summer (Summer #3) by C.J. Duggan

That One Summer
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

This is another Osnlow Boy romance.

We all know about Chris Henderson. He is the one that behave as an adult since the first Summer book.  He is the responsible one. He also likes to be in charge.
Tammy Maskala is Amy's best friend. Now, that she is back in Onslow she is invited to every outing the gang does.

"Okay, so I didn’t know what to say to that exactly. It wasn’t every night of my life that I found myself pressed up intimately against an Onslow Boy, in the dark, in his bedroom, in his bed. Well, okay … under his bed. Still, it did make for interesting conversation."

She gets included in every game, every drinking night but she doesn't feel like part of the group. She is an outsider of sorts.
All of them will be leaving Onslow to spend New Year's some where else. At first she decides she doesn't want to go but she has a change of heart. By the time she gets to the hotel her friends are gone. Well, not all of them. Chris stayed behind to take her.  Tammy can't believe what's happening. Soon she finds herself falling for him during this road trip.  All preconceptions disappear in the van.

I believe Chris is my favorite Onslow boy.  I like that he is broody, and that he is the serious one. He also is the one who has melted my heart with the beautiful things he told Tammy.

“Because if I’d had to choose perfect, I would have just chosen you.”

“I would choose your legs even when they’re jigging and driving me to distraction. I’d choose your face because it creases into something so amazing when you find something funny (which, incidentally, isn’t often enough for my liking).
“I’d choose the way your cheeks go red whenever you’re embarrassed, just like they are now.
“I’d choose the fact that you’re smart, kind and funny and you don’t even know it.” His eyes ticked over my face in a long, silent study. “It’s a pretty big list, but yeah. I’d choose everything about you.”

Tammy was insecure and I'm sure that she has reasons for being that way, but Chris told her how he felt with actions and a word or two.

“You know that nice for me means ‘absolutely beautiful’, right?”

I'm really in love with Chris.  I love the Summer series.
Next is Adam and Ellie.  I wonder if the kiss will come into play in the next book.

"I was barely able to gather my thoughts as Chris pressed me against the back of the door and claimed my mouth in a hot, mind-bending kiss. His lips were demanding, firm, slow, coaxing mine to open for him. I was unable to move, enticingly ensnared by him as his scorching kiss robbed me of all thought, all breath."
