Jet (Marked Men #2) by Jay Crownover

Jet
We met Jet on Rule, he is the lead singer of a local heavy metal rock band.  He also has his own studio, where he helps new bands develop their new music. He has a terrible father, who is only interested in being a groupie and cheating on his wife.  Jet's mother has been in this abusive relationship for too long. She has lost herself and has no desire to leave him.
This makes Jet -understandably- have major anger issues which he is able to process through his music.

Ayden is Shaw's best friend. We also met her in Rule.
She is an ambitious southern girl. She wants to finish her school and become someone.  She was there for Shaw in every step of the way.
One night she decided to throw caution to the wind and tries to sleep with Jet.  He turns her down and for over a year nothing happens.  Jet and Ayden become roommates but every time they are together they can't deny their attraction.

It’s this Ayden that I’m worried about. This Ayden deserves to be happy, regardless of what the future holds, and this Ayden is the one who has to decide why she is settling for milk and cookies when what she really wants is edible body paint and furry handcuffs.”

They both fight their feelings until one day, they just can't anymore.

“I wanna have sex, Ayd. Lots and lots of sex... with you and only you. Does it have to be more than that right now?”

Once they are together nothing is the same. Jet and Ayden realize that it's much more than sex.

“Sometimes, things need to change, because there just isn’t any way for them to stay the same.”

Unfortunately, Ayden has a past and when it starts knocking on her door she makes some bad decisions that I was not happy with.

After finishing Rule, I knew I had to read Jet. I enjoyed this book a lot too.
Jet and Ayden were fun together. I liked that Jay builds a back story to every main character. This makes me believe when the hero and the heroine fall in love. Is not instant love. It's day to day living.
My only complaint was with Ayden. Her ability to hurt Jet and herself make me want to scream at my kindle. Drove me insane when she kept on pushing Jet away. Thank the lucky stars she has great friends that can tell her the truth even if she didn't want to admit it.
Same goes for Jet's friends.

“Look, dude, I get that your mom and dad gave you a messed-up idea of what a solid relationship looks like, and I know none of us are going to get gold stars in the monogamy and happy-ever-after department. But I think you can see meant-to-be when it’s staring you in the face.”

Overall, this novel worked for me and I was very happy with the ending.
I was also happy to see Shaw and Rule's love progressing and ecstatic that Rome is back!!!
I have to mention ASA. I hated him. But, by the end of the book I think he's going to be an awesome marked men.

"We were just two people who were meant to be together and that was all there was to it."
