Welcome to Sugartown (Sugartown #1) by Carmen Jenner

Welcome to Sugartown
This is the story of Ana Belle, a nineteen year old girl who is unsatisfied with her life. She works at her family's bakery and she wishes for more. She wishes she could leave town and move on. She had a tough time at school after a boy she dated spread horrible rumors of her around town. This made Ana stay away from anything that could bring attention back to her. She has a great friend, a cute little brother, an a father with a biker past.
Her monotony ends when Elijah Cade arrives into town with his bike.
Elijah (Melty Eyes) is tall, full of tattoos and amazing dimples. Soon Ana starts falling for him but Elijah has a past. A dark one. When his past meets his present Ana doesn't know if she can handle it. For Ana things just get worse. Bad things happened that made me feel very sorry for her.

The first half of this book was hilarious. It has a lot of funny scenes with Elijah, Ana's dad, Ana's brother and Ana's friend (Holly).
It's super easy to fall in love with Elijah. He is a man trying to find some happiness. Even if it is short-lived. He is a tough guy and he will fight for Ana although along the way he makes mistakes (really only one).
The second part of this book is very dark and I had issues with a couple of scenes.  They took me completely by surprise. I went from happy, to upset, to sad, to crying. I didn't expect it.
Hero and heroine suffered and at times it seems like situations/people were getting in their way.
The good news is there is NO cliffhanger and the end is a happy one. I would strongly recommend it.

“From the day we're born to the day we die, we fucking hurt and we cry and we pick ourselves up and, if we're really lucky, we have people to help us pick up the fucking pieces”

 4.5/5 Fangs
