Sara Adams awakes blind, unable to remember the most basic details of her life, but her darkness seems a blessing when she discovers the terrors of The Light.

Stella Montgomery investigates the news from the mean streets of Detroit, where she’s noticed a disturbing trend: young women are vanishing. When her best friend disappears, Stella digs for answers—despite warnings from her police detective boyfriend—following a twisted trail that leads her through the city’s most dangerous and forsaken precincts. There she uncovers something more sinister than she could have imagined: a shadowy organization known as The Light, led by the enigmatic Father Gabriel.

As Sara struggles to understand her place in the strange world she’s awakened to—an oppressive cult demanding unquestioning obedience—and her feelings for Jacob, the husband she can’t recall and whose harsh and tender attentions confuse and beguile her, Stella risks all to discover the truth. But enlightenment always comes with a price.…

This book was excellent! From the first moment I opened it, I knew it was going to be a winner. For weeks, I've been tempted to read it but I knew I had other books to read, so I kept on placing it on the back burner. As the days progressed, my GR's feed had at least a couple of great reviews for it.
I'm happy to report I can add this book to the Best of 2016.

Into the Light follows the lives of Stella Montgomery, Sara, and Jacob.

Stella Montgomery is an investigative reporter. She's good at her job and she's dedicated to it. Now more than ever after her best friend Mindy goes missing. Stella needs to find out what really happened to her. Her research takes her on multiple tangents but she is positive, the cult The Light has something to do with it.

Sara wakes up in what seems to be a hospital bed. She has a concussion, multiple rib fractures, a fractured leg and memory loss. A man by the name of Jacob is there with her at all times. He says he's her husband. Sara doesn't remember anything and she's so confused when strangers talk to her about her forgotten past. She soon realizes that she's part of a community where whatever Jacob and Brother Gabriel say must be followed.

I love that Aleatha included Jacob's POV. It was definitely needed. Otherwise, I would've wanted to attack him and hit him hard a couple of times. However, I fell in love with him. His love for Sara is real. I can't wait to see what happens next!

Into the Light is full of suspense, intrigue and I was delighted with it. I wanted to devour it and get to the bottom of the truth.  Even though I guessed the plot earlier on, I was entertained the whole way through.

Now, I just need Oct 18th to come tomorrow.

Cliffhanger: Yes

5/5 Fangs
