This is a story of revenge, stolen innocence, depravity and fear.
Our heroine Nila Weaver's world changes when her father releases her to the care of Jethro Hawk.
She has been protected her whole life by her father and her brother until now. She is 26 and she has finally cemented a name for herself in the fashion designing world when everything and everyone she loves is taken from her.
Years ago, Nina's ancestors did something so awful to Jethro's family that now her family is indebted to them. Jethro must take Nina and do with her what he wants.
Jethro is what you expect in a dark romance but sometimes we get a glimpse of more but not for long. He knows he must make his family proud and he will stick with his plan.
I want to like Jethro but I'm still a little scared of him. I know Nila affects him and that there might be hope for her but I'm not sure how long it will take for him to realize she is not only a property to him.
Nila has great potential. She turns from a shy girl, coming out of her shell to fight back in her own way. I hope what she promises Jethro's dad, happens. He deserves it.
I'm intrigued about Kite's purpose in the story and I want to know more about the other Hawk brother, Kestrel.
I guess to know more I have to read the next one.
Cliffhanger : yes
