Worth the Fight (MMA Fighter #1) by Vi Keeland

Worth the Fight
ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

Elle lives a safe life. She is an attorney with a dark secret. She keeps her emotions in check.  Her current romantic relationship is more like a routine than a true boyfriend.
When William introduces her to a new client, Nicholas Hunter, her world tips off axis.  She looses all ability to compartmentalize and she recognizes that it may be better to feel again than to keep on hiding behind a mask.

Nico is a MMA fighter.  He is a true alpha, with a great family and great coach. He has been outside the cage for a while now.  The first time he meets Elle is the first time he feels that maybe returning to the ring is a possibility.

He wants Elle's attention and he comes out as strong. He recognizes that she is different than other women and he wastes no time in making this clear to her.

“I’d love to see you again. You let me know when the not really turns into a solid no.”

His no nonsense attitude was refreshing to read.  He takes what he wants but he doesn't take something that is given freely to him.

“Why don’t you just use your usual seek and conquer charm that you always do?” Lily is only half kidding with her comment.
“Because this one you have to earn.”

I liked Elle.  I liked that she was able to accept her feeling for Nico without much of a fight. She throws safe out the window and jumps into a steamy relationship with Nico without a second look.  The story works because we get both characters POV.
I love Nico.  He is all powerful, up in your face, all male. Best word to describe him is: Raw. No apologies.  He goes after what he desires without doubts.

“Oh boy. You’re in trouble. I know that look he has. It’s the look of determination and the Hunter boys don’t stop till they get what they want.”

I don't like fighting but I will definitely enjoy watching Nico fight.  I can't wait for the next book in this series.
