Follows two fiercely independent young women, centuries apart, who hold the power to save their world...or doom it.

When assassins ambush her best friend, the crown prince, Rielle Dardenne risks everything to save him, exposing her ability to perform all seven kinds of elemental magic. The only people who should possess this extraordinary power are a pair of prophesied queens: a queen of light and salvation and a queen of blood and destruction. To prove she is the Sun Queen, Rielle must endure seven trials to test her magic. If she fails, she will be executed...unless the trials kill her first.

A thousand years later, the legend of Queen Rielle is a mere fairy tale to bounty hunter Eliana Ferracora. When the Undying Empire conquered her kingdom, she embraced violence to keep her family alive. Now, she believes herself untouchable--until her mother vanishes without a trace, along with countless other women in their city. To find her, Eliana joins a rebel captain on a dangerous mission and discovers that the evil at the heart of the empire is more terrible than she ever imagined.

As Rielle and Eliana fight in a cosmic war that spans millennia, their stories intersect, and the shocking connections between them ultimately determine the fate of their world--and of each other.

Furyborn was an interesting and explosive new YA fantasy book! This book was full of magic, romance, powerful women, intrigue, and adventure! I don't want to spoil too much in my review, because I think this is one of those books where it is better going into the book kind of blind.

The first chapter of this book was addictive and captivating! I was immediately hooked from the first page! However, after that, I did get a little confused as to what was happening. There were time jumps which were jarring for me as they were so out of the blue. Once I got used to the time jumps, the book became way more enjoyable. The author managed to make this book entertaining from beginning to end! I never really felt like there was a dull moment in this story.

All of the characters in this book were intriguing and lovable characters. Each character had such strong arcs throughout the story, and I loved watching them all grow. The characters all were badass and I was LIVING for how powerful they were! I will say that the two main characters could fit the "mary sue" mold, however, it didn't really bother me! I was all about the powerful women who could take over the world if they wanted to.

Overall, this book was an addictive and mesmerizing story! I think anyone is a fan of YA fantasy novels definitely should check this book out! I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS IN BOOK TWO!
