Best Kind of Broken (Finding Fate #1) by Chelsea Fine

Best Kind of Broken

MrsLeif's Review

ARC provided by Grand Central Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah (Pixie) is working at her aunt's Inn until class starts again. She is nineteen but she doesn't want go home with her mother who is a horrible person. She is shocked to learn that her friend and the man that she has had a crush on forever is working at the same Inn.
Levi is working as a handyman at the Willow Inn. He is broken after what happened to him and Sarah last summer. He can't believe Pixie will be living in the room next to his and that they will be sharing a shower.

The battle between these two starts. This makes for an awesome reading. He stealing the hot water, she stealing his power. Yeah, shaving half of his face is not fun for Levi.
I was happily surprise with this story. I love love/hate relationships and getting to know the reason why the two get separated in the first place takes a while and I was ok with the mystery.
Their banter was great. The secondary characters are a great addition. Especially, Sarah's aunt and the bartender.
Let's not forget the sexual tension. It was HOT. When they finally are together it was worth the wait. Lately, most books have tons of sex scenes. This book proves that waiting for it is ok too.

“Because love isn’t something that needs to be said out loud!” Her face flushes with passion. “It’s something you just know. It’s an unspoken thing. It’s humble and quiet and constant…” She goes back to slaughtering the mushrooms, but lowers her tone a bit. “I mean, you can’t just say you love someone and make it true. That’s not how it works. Real love doesn’t need to be declared or confessed. Real love just… is. You know?”

Very happy to have received the ARC.
I can't wait for the next couple since we got multiple hints during this one. I also think that Sara's aunt deserves an HEA too.

“Three things, asshole,” Levi says casually, like yanking a guy out of a car window is an everyday occurrence for him. “One.” He looks at Daren calmly. “Don’t drink and drive. That’s fucking retarded.”
Daren’s gasping.
“Two.” Levi stretches his neck. “When a girl says no—to anything—that means no.”
Daren smacks at Levi’s strong arm.
“And three.” Levi leans down and puts his face frighteningly close to Daren’s and lowers his voice. “Pixie’s. Not. Yours. And if I ever hear you speak to her like that again, I will yank the tongue out of your throat.”

MrsNorthman's Review
I ♥ Pixie and Leaves!

This book was so unexpected! I loved the way the story slowly unfolded piece by piece. Over summer break from college, Pixie and Levi both end up working at her aunts inn. They haven't spoken to one another in almost a year and now they are forced to share a bathroom. Imagine Pixie's frustration when Levi uses all the hot water every morning. Their little spats are the only interaction they've had in almost a year and it's makes for a lot of tension!
"You want to get wet, Pixie?" He's got a wicked smile on, and I hate that I like it. "Because I can help with that."
Growing up together, Levi was Pixie's hero and his family was a safe place. But things changed the summer before. They are both so broken and scarred the only way to forget is to make each other miserable. This leads to all kinds of emotions and I felt them right along with Levi and Pixie. At times this book was sad, heartfelt, funny, full of sexual tension, swoon worthy and just plain sweet. I loved every minute of it. The supporting characters were great too. I hope Jenna is getting her own book....I have a feeling it would be amazing!
