The Hidden Oracle (The Trials of Apollo #1)
by Rick Riordan

How do you punish an immortal?

By making him human.

After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disorientated, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favour.

But Apollo has many enemies - gods, monsters and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

OH MY GOSH. THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED AND MORE.

I had so many expectations for this book, and Rick met every single one of my expectations. Fans of all of the Percy Jackson books will love and devour this book. This is a MUST read for people who have read the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series and the Heroes of Olympus series.

The new characters in this book were all fantastic. I grew attached to so many of them, especially Apollo. Apollo was hilarious! I was so thankful that Rick decided to address Apollo's sexuality in this book. I thought it was so refreshing and important that Rick talked about Apollo's bisexuality. Rick wove it in so it was impactful but not in your face. I also loved the character development Apollo had in the book.

Rick continues to create characters that I adore so much. I loved getting to know the new characters, but I also loved seeing the old characters. This book caught us up with some of my favorite characters from the previous books, and it made my heart so happy. I loved hearing about/seeing what those characters are up to now. I loved seeing the couples from the previous books happy and still in love. I am really excited to see those characters through out the rest of this series.

I don't want to spoil anything, but some ships definitely sailed in this book. I literally squealed when my one ship was introduced and they were a CONFIRMED COUPLE. THEY ARE SO ADORABLE AND PERFECT TOGETHER. I reread every scene that they were in so I could relive their perfection. I want them to be together forever along with the other couples...PERCABETH FOREVER.

This book was as hilarious and action packed as one would expect from a Rick Riordan book. The Greek and Roman mythology was as perfect as always. I honestly could go on and on about how fantastic this book is. EVERY PERCY JACKSON FAN NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ ANY PERCY JACKSON BOOK, YOU NEED TO DO THAT RIGHT THIS SECOND. GO.

Now I have to wait for the next book. The wait is going to kill me.
