The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre

Title: The Girl in 6E
Series: Deanna Madden #1
Author: A.R. Torre

I haven't touched a human in three years. That seems like it would be a difficult task, but it's not. Not anymore, thanks to the internet.

I am, quite possibly, the most popular recluse ever. Not many shut-ins have a 200-member fan club, a bank account in the seven-figure range, and hundreds of men lining up to pay for undivided attention.

They get satisfaction, I get a distraction. Their secret desires are nothing compared to why I hide... my lust for blood, my love of death.

Taking their money is easy. Keeping all these secrets... one is bound to escape.

What if you hid yourself away because all you could think of was killing? And what if one girl's life depending on you venturing into society?

Enter a world of lies, thrills, fears, and all desires, in this original thriller from A. R. Torre

“They believe what they see, because they want to believe. They want to believe that I am normal. And for the brief moments I am with them, I fool myself into thinking the same thing.”

It's interesting how I enjoyed disturbing characters. I loved Joe from You, Dexter from the TV show and now, I like Deanna Madden.

Deanna Madden lost her family in a gruesome murder when she was seventeen. Deanna was not at home when it happened and afterward, she was sent to live with her grandparents until she was able to be on her own.

In the present, she has a self-imposed prison. Three years after she lost her family and at twenty-one, she makes her living as a webcam girl. She sells virtual sex to men and women without judgment. Why? because her fantasies are completely different. She fantasizes about murdering people. She believes she has the same tendencies as her mother and in order to avoid harming another human being, she rather isolates herself. This doesn't mean she doesn't have a huge collection of knives and guns just ready to use if someone comes inside her apartment. After all, a girl needs to know how to defend herself, right?

Then, a regular client starts making her uncomfortable and a young girl goes missing, she knows she has to interfere. She has the money, the means and the weapons to do so. She just needs to LEAVE her apartment.

I was happily surprised with The Girl in 6E. I love suspense and Alessandra Torre does a great job with this one. The twists were not overly shocking but just right for the story. There's a hint of a romance and I'll like to see a little more of Deanna and Jeremy. I think they have potential. Of course, unless she decides to kill him first.

Cliffhanger: No
