Irresistible You by Kate Meader

Title: Irresistible You
Author: Kate Meader
Series: Chicago Rebels #1
Publisher: Pocket Star
Release Date: August 14, 2017

Three estranged sisters inherit their late father’s failing hockey franchise and are forced to confront a man’s world, their family’s demons, and the battle-hardened ice warriors skating into their hearts.

Harper Chase has just become the most powerful woman in the NHL after the death of her father Clifford Chase, maverick owner of the Chicago Rebels. But the team is a hot mess—underfunded, overweight, and close to tapping out of the league. Hell-bent on turning the luckless franchise around, Harper won’t let anything stand in her way. Not her gender, not her sisters, and especially not a veteran player with an attitude problem and a smoldering gaze designed to melt her ice-compacted defenses.

Veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre is on the downside of a career that’s seen him win big sponsorships, fans’ hearts, and more than a few notches on his stick. Only one goal has eluded him: the Stanley Cup. Sure, he’s been labeled as the unluckiest guy in the league, but with his recent streak of good play, he knows this is his year. So why the hell is he being shunted off to a failing hockey franchise run by a ball-buster in heels? And is she seriously expecting him to lead her band of misfit losers to a coveted spot in the playoffs?

He’d have a better chance of leading Harper on a merry skate to his bed…

"I skate for her."

5 swoon-worthy Fangs!

I love Kate Meader's Hot in Chicago series. She writes romance just the way I like it. Her characters have a sizzling hot chemistry, they can be funny and sweet too.

Her Chicago Rebels bring us new hot guys to fall in love with. They are not firefighters (miss you Engine 6) instead they are hockey stars. Need I say more?

Three half sisters are forced to come together after they inherited ownership of the Chicago Rebels, a failing hockey team. Their father, Cliff Chase was a piece of work and he was tougher on Harper, who's the main character in Irresistible You.

"There is no room for sentimentality in this game."

Harper Chase has wanted to take over the Chicago Rebels for years but her father never thought she was ready. After he passes, she discovers that she doesn't have all the power. Her decisions have to be approved by her two sisters, Violet and Isobel. The sisters have been estranged and Isobel and Harper found out about Violet just a couple of years ago. This could be a recipe for disaster. Harper needs someone to make the Chicago Rebels come together. Acquiring "Jinx" to help the team is first on her to-do list. Just two problems. One, Remy is not happy with his current situation and second, Harper wasn't counting of feeling attracted to him.

"Me want Cajun."

Remy "Jinx" DuPre knows he wants a chance at the Stanley Cup but joining the Rebels is not going to help him. He needs to move into a team who has a shot at winning. He's tired of being passed around and losing his chance at the trophy. He just needs to convince his new boss to let him go. Although, the more he interacts with her, the less he wants to leave her.

Irresistible You pushed all my happy triggers. Harper and DuPre were great together. Their banter and chemistry were off the charts! Couldn't help but falling in love with both. Harper was a true businesswoman. She was a hard worker despite her father wanting her to fail. Remy was adorable with his family and nieces. He was also super sexy and a great team member. He tried to guide the rest of the team to make better choices and he brought them hope.

I'm looking forward to the next few books in the series. The best part is that the other two sisters, Isabel and Violet are already likable and we know who their love interests are. Bring it on, Vadim and Bren!

"I speak and you think of sex?"
"You exist and I think of sex."

Cliffhanger: No

Irresistible You was a steamy, funny, and heartwarming romance novel! Even though this was a longer book, I found it extremely addicting and it didn't feel like it was too long of a book. There were a few slower moments in the book, but overall, this book was very entertaining. Irresistible You gave me all the feels and constantly put a smile on my face.

Harper, the main female character, was a strong and independent woman. I loved how determined she was to be successful and how she didn't let anyone stand in her way. She came off as a little cold at times, but she warmed up and opened herself up as the book progressed. Harper was an inspirational business woman and I loved it!

Remy was the main male character and he turned out to be an extremely swoon-worthy man. At first, I wasn't too into him. He came off as too cocky and focused on looks a little too much for my taste in the beginning. However, as the book continued, I started to fall in love with him. It turned out that Remy was charming, hilarious, patient, and understanding. I thought the author did a great job at developing his character throughout the story.

The romance between Harper and Remy was RED HOT! The chemistry between Harper and Remy was off the charts and their banter was hilarious. I thought the author did a great job at creating sexual tension between the couple. The relationship developed at a believable pace and I was shipping Harper and Remy SO HARD. I love them together and I hope to see more of them in the future books!

There were so many side characters that I ended up really caring about in this story. The author did a great job at developing the side characters and forming relationships between them and the main characters. I cannot wait to see more of them in the future books and watch them find love!

Overall, I found this book to be fun and extremely sexy. If you are looking for a new contemporary romance, I definitely recommend checking this book out!
