There’s no such thing as a little in love…
Elle Wheaten’s priorities: friends, career, and kick-ass shoes. Then there’s the muscular wall of stubbornness that’s security expert Archer Hunt—who comes before everything else. No point in telling Mr. “Feels-Free Zone” that, though. Elle will just see other men until she gets over Archer . . . which should only take a lifetime . . .
There’s no such thing as a little in lust…
Archer’s wanted the best for Elle ever since he sacrificed his law-enforcement career to save her. But now that she’s earned happiness and success, Archer just wants Elle 24/7. Their chemistry could start the next San Francisco Earthquake, and Archer doesn’t want to be responsible for the damage. The alternative? Watch her go out with guys who aren’t him . . .
There is such a thing as…
As far as Archer’s concerned, nobody is good enough for Elle. But when he sets out to prove it by sabotaging her dates, she gets mad—and things get hot as hell. Now Archer has a new mission: prove to Elle that her perfect man has been here all along…
Accidentally On Purpose is the third book in the Heartbreaker Bay Series, but it can be read as a standalone. I haven't read the first two books in the series so I wasn't familiar with the characters, but never once did I feel like I was missing out on anything, Just enough information was given on the secondary characters for me to get a good grasp of the series and enjoy this book.
Elle and Archer work together, he heads the security company that offers services to the building she manages, and sometimes she'll help him with a case he's working on by going undercover for him. I'm not sure how they work together so much because they always seemed to be arguing, I'm not complaining at all because I actually quite loved it! Elle is the only one he lets get on his case, and we all know the reason for that! It's certainly tense with them and not of all the tension is sexual. They have a past together as well and that's what seems to be the hold up in their relationship. As I kept reading I realized that Elle is thinking one thing about their past and Archer is thinking another, and I just freaked out because they are so perfect together and I just wanted everything out in the open! Archer is hard on Elle, but it's because he's very protective of her and his protection goes father than scaring off a few dates too. When he sees what she's kept all these years from the past it opens up a can of worms and feelings too!
Overall the story was highly entertaining with all the jabs the characters would throw at each other. The characters were hilarious and the kind of family you choose to have in your life because they are always there to offer support and comfort. The sexual tension was bouncing off the pages and the heartfelt moments were very sweet. I will definitely come back to the Heartbreaker Bay Series!
