Riley is starting to date again after many months of solitude. She survived a physical abusive relationship and it's time she moved on with her life. Luckily, she has a great family. She has great parents who support her and 4 brothers who care for her.

Zander is a college student but he is also the lead singer in the band The Deadly Storm. He recently lost his mother but has the support of his best friend Beth and her boyfriend Mark.

When Zander meets Riley at a party he knows this girl is special but Riley is trying to stay away from trouble. Fate has a way of bringing them back together and this time Zander won't miss his chance.

My thoughts:

C.A Harms's book deals with physical abuse in a relationship.  It shows you that abuse can happen to anyone.  Riley is just a regular girl. She doesn't come from a damaged family and she still falls for the wrong guy. At the beginning she doesn't seek help immediately until things get dangerous for her and when they do she runs to her family for help which I applaud.

I love Zander, he is a good guy, with a good heart and he never even thinks about straying.  He knows he has met someone significant and he values it. Zander does feel torn between his best friend Beth and the love he feels for Riley.  I think it was crucial to have his POV, otherwise he would have made me very unhappy with him not putting Beth in her place.

This book has no cliffhanger.  I do wonder what book 2 is about.
