|Never Been Ready
Leah Morgan is a Labor and Delivery nurse, she is also independent, funny and speaks up her mind. She had a fling six months ago with Declan James, the famous actor and she can't seem to get him out of her head.
"There was one other person I could blame for my complete lack of interest in the male species —Declan James."
Declan is back in Virginia filming a movie but his number one priority is to see Leah, maybe get another night with her. The last thing he expected is to crash and burn.
I'm glad I'm back into the Ready world. I'm happy to see how in love Logan and Clare still are.
Leah is a great character and her lines still make me laugh. I liked that despite her childhood she was super strong and didn't let this define her (too much). She has insecurities but not enough to make me mad at her.
Declan won me over pretty soon. Yes, he was kind of a douche at the beginning but this phase didn't last too long. He definitely steps up to the plate when he needs to and when life throws him for a loop he regained his footing pretty fast.
The end was so sweet. It left me with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. Hotshot goes in my book boyfriend pile.
"Yep. Cocky attitude, arrogant disposition, and sexy as fuck —it's a good nickname."
"An addict can hold out for only so long before she needs another fix, especially when her fix is six plus feet of raw alpha male."
"I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to be here while you cry, scream, and let it all out...because all of us, even you, need someone to hold us when we cry."
"Love? I didn't say I loved him," I deflected. "Besides, isn't it a bit early for that?"
"Someone very wise once told me that there's no time restriction on love," she said with a wink.
"Very slick, using my own words against me. That's kind of evil."
"Shit. I'm going to cry again. Why do I cry so much around you?"
"I don't know, but I'll hold you every time you do."
"I love you, Leah Morgan. Since the moment I got off that plane, everything I do has been for you. You are so much more than you think you are, and I see you —all of you. You can push all you want, but I'm not going anywhere. I want every piece of you."
"Wow, you were kind of a douche, Declan James."
"I'm a reformed douche," I amended.
"Decah Fan Club."
"Don't ever leave me. Please."
"How can you leave your own soul, Declan?"
"Marry me, Leah. Make me the happiest man alive. Take my name, be a mother for my children, and grow old with me."
