Chase Murphy works for his father in CEP. He has great brothers and a great friend. He is studying to become a corporate lawyer and needs the extra money. When he meets Julia, he knows he must keep it professional and for two years he was able to.
One kiss is about to change it all.
I liked Julia, she was independent, funny and smart. She believed in herself and was surrounded by great friends. Her relationship with her father was not the best but she didn't dwell on it.
Chase was a true alpha male. I loved him but sometimes I wanted to scream at him. Let me rephrase, I wanted to scream at BOTH of them. They acted like children but, in the end, I was happy where the story took them. I did love their banter.
I'm very intrigued about the rest of the guys and I believe they all deserve their own book.
I know this was Harper's debut novel and I wanted to read it because I'm a huge fan of her True Love series (Discovering Us and Finding Us). Also, her second CEP novel came out recently and it's on my tbr.
"She could sit back there laughing, probably texting Hyena Boy, yet he had to keep himself together. Real fair."
"He would ask her on a date, not giving a shit if Haha Dude was her boyfriend or not or whether he’d lose his job, and she’d either say yes or tell him to get lost."
"She was going to respect his my job is dangerous so I can't be with you because my cock might cause me to be inattentive to potential stalkers who want to kidnap you and make Allen cry because he might have to part with a Benjamin or two standpoint and not try to lure him with sleazy apparel... although it was tempting. "
"Dutch oven. Looks like a big damn pot to me. What's Dutch about it? What, was it made in Dutchland, wait, Holland, no, the Netherlands, shit, I don't know, Jesus."
"God, I know I keep telling you we need to stay away from each other, but I'm finding that so hard to do."
"I hate that everything with you is so taboo. I hate that this job means more to you than I do." She was literally sobbing now. "But most of all, I hate the fact that I'm falling for you."
"They'd made a left out of Flirtsville and had taken a detour through Serioustown and he really didn't want to relocate at this time."
"had Captain Bipolar forgotten to take his meds today? "
"Ladies and gentlemen, our next stop will be Loserville where those of you who've recently thrown away the best thing that could ever have happened to you will disembark. Thank you for traveling Dumbass Coach Tours."
