Chimes at Midnight |
With the help of all her friends and a librarian, Toby must find a way to stop the Queen from making her leave.
I enjoyed everything about this book. Toby is not fighting her feelings for Tybalt anymore. The King of Cats steals the best lines and I love how much he cares for her. They make a great team together. Besides love, there's respect and support.
Toby has evolved as a character. She has accepted her Fae blood although she is not ready to leave her human part behind. October doesn't take unnecessary risks anymore. She recognizes she doesn't need to do things alone anymore. She has friends who are more like family to her who will help her in any way they can.
Chimes at Midnight has a lot of action and Seanan McGuire answers a lot of questions including who the Queen really is and who Quentin's parents are. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
"October, I meant it when I told you I was not leaving you. I will never leave you while both of us are living. You were not quite this human when I met you, and you were far less human when I finally allowed myself to love you. But the essential core of your being has remained the same no matter what the balance of your blood."
Cliffhanger: No
