AFTER DARK picks up right where LAST LIGHT ended. The whole world knows that Matt Sky
orchestrated his death and he’s trying to get his life back to normal, or as
normal as can be with everyone knowing he is bestselling author M. Pierce.
Hannah is finally getting everything she has wanted. She is a literary agent at Granite Wing
Agency, and she’s living her life with happily with Matt.
Matt and Hannah still have a lot to get to know about each
other. Slowly, they discover things about each other
that they unexpectedly enjoy. When troubling
situations occur their relationship is tested.
Will their love be strong enough?
***
AFTER DARK was a continuation of Last Light. Hannah and Matt are trying to figure out what
they want out of their relationship. This
book was a bit different for me. The
couple is officially together, not hiding or sneaking to spend time together.
The writing was once again flawless and so entertaining to
read. And Matt and Hannah still had HOT
chemistry. I am sad to see this trilogy
come to a close.

"I'm steady behind
you."
The Night Owl Trilogy is one of my favorites and I'm heartbroken it's
over. But, I'm also feeling a little confused by what I just read. My emotions are all over the place. It just wasn't what I expected.
After Dark picks up right where Last
Light left us. Dying to know Matt's
answer to Hannah's life changing question. The one she threw out at him just
seconds before their morning talk show appearance. We get the answer and I have to admit, I was
disappointed. Not because of his answer, but because of the assumptions and
accusations that came along with it. And
so began the back and forth struggle that was constant throughout this story.
"Maybe, forever?"
I assumed that with everything Matt and Hannah had been through
to get to this point, there would be more trust between them. Not a relationship full of lies and secrecy. I
thought Matt would have grown as a person. Instead, I couldn't help but to feel
that After Dark was a huge step back for him. Matt was even more unpredictable,
manipulative and downright childish at times. And Hannah just took it, over and over.
"You're a spoiled brat, do you know
that? Golden boy with green eyes. It's really hard to love you sometimes."
Don't get me wrong, Matt had his sweet moments. There were a
few times, the Matt I fell for made an appearance. And there's no denying he's sexy. But, the majority
of the story, he pushed my limits with his self-centeredness. And for some reason I found myself weirded
out by his need to help Chrissy and how that turned out.
"Let me show you with my whole life
how I love you."
Even with my mixed feelings for this book, this series is still one of my favorites. Each book was
unique, sexy and maybe even a little odd, but I LOVED it. I can't wait to see what M. Pierce will come
up with next.
