Taking Something (Give Me Something #2) by Elizabeth Lee Blog Tour and Giveaway

Taking Something -Front Cover

~ Synopsis ~

I know what you're thinking. “You were such a jerk, Nick!”  Believe me, I know I screwed up the best thing I had going in my life, but that was kind of my thing. I’d learned how to run cons before I could even form complete sentences, and I'd always been selfish.  But I changed.  Lila forgave me, my brother and I were getting along, and I was trying to make a name for myself in the music world.

At least that was what I was trying to do when I negotiated my way into the recording studio with pop superstar Sadie Sinclair. I thought it would be a piece of cake—charm my way into her heart and into her record label's good graces.

Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I got mixed up in a web of lies, manipulation, and deception. A web that had me questioning my motives and desires altogether.

Was the fame and fortune really worth the price?

~ Excerpt ~

I turned on my stool to look out onto the dance floor at the group waving their hands and mindlessly jumping around to the beat.  Imagine my surprise when a striking brunette turned around and revealed herself to be just the girl who had invaded my mind.  Gia.
Smiling and laughing without a care in the world.
Landry and I had been situated on the corner of the bar and must have been having a pretty in-depth conversation when she walked in.
How had I not seen her?
She moved her hips back and forth, divulging exactly just how much rhythm she had and how well she could pull off a pair of tight jeans and a tank top.  The bare skin of her shoulders glistened with sweat as she moved with the crowd.  She looked ridiculously sexy, even under the cheap multicolored lights that were flashing along with music.
With the booze I'd been drinking all night and the relief at not having Sadie clinging to my side, there was no way I wasn't dancing with her.  Or at least talking to her.
The way her body was moving was begging for attention, and I could see the vultures starting to circle around.  It was the first time I'd seen her look happy-go-lucky. Perhaps that meant she would be willing to forget for at least a song about being pissed at me.  She'd helped me out in the studio, but I wasn't sure if that was for me or just for Sadie.  Besides that, I considered that I was about to do her a favor.  I doubt she wanted some nobody grinding all up on her.
I pushed through the growing crowd, across the sticky floor of the bar, and approached her.  The two girls she was with eyed me cautiously as I tapped on her shoulder.  They had the same brown eyes and hair as Gia. They had to be related.  She leaned over and said something to them.  By the way they both questionably looked at me, I assumed she’d told them who I was.
“Hey,” I smiled as she turned around.
“Hi,” she said, her eyes wide.  “What are you—”  She stopped talking when I put my hands on her waist and pulled her close to me.
“Dance with me,” I insisted.  I was expecting protest, but instead she let her hips move with mine to the tempo of the music.  She stretched her arms up around my neck as the beat slowed.  Or at least I think it slowed.  It could have stopped for all I knew.
All I could do was look in her eyes, which were full of trepidation. Our rhythm synced almost instantly, as if we were made to dance with each other. I knew she could feel it too because she didn't pull away.  Something was definitely happening.

“Thank you for today,” I whispered in her ear. “You were amazing.” My cock started to swell as we moved.  Not at all what I had intended, but it felt pretty awesome.  She felt so damn good pressed up against me.  I lowered my forehead to hers and wondered what she would do if I pressed my lips to hers.
